Daimon is an S-rank Graveborn Tank which primarily acts as a tanky Support but has some potential to be used as a Sub-DPS.

At the start of battle, Stitchy, an untargetable ally, fights alongside Daimon, dealing 90% of Daimon’s Attack as damage with Basic Attacks. When Daimon uses his Ultimate, Stitchy attacks, dealing True damage in an area based on enemy HP%, and gives shields to Daimon and two allies.

His first skill, Playtime Plunder, is divided between Stitchy and Daimon. Stitchy uses this skill every 8s, dealing True damage to an enemy and adjacent enemies based on enemy max HP. Whereas when Daimon uses this skill, he drains part of an enemy’s HP%, and converts it into a shield for himself. This skill is the main one that sticks out for Endless bosses, because HP drain bypasses enemy Defenses entirely.

His second skill, Buddy Barrier, is what makes Daimon great as a Buffer and Support. He shares part of shields gained with the ally behind him, and while shielded, that ally gains Life Drain and a decently high ATK buff, swapping to the next weakest ally when the one behind him dies. He has been used in this Buffer role mostly when paired with his mother, Shemira.

Now, for a quick overview of his performance in the various game modes:

  • Story and AFK stages – Daimon works really well for pushing AFK stages in the Shemira team, as a way to amplify her damage even more. Daimon works well in this role because he is a lot tankier than the average Buffer, so he is more likely to survive long enough to do his thing, and he also improves the team’s survivability with his shields, making him the ideal partner for Shemira, though he is not quite tanky enough to stand on the frontline by himself, and usually needs someone else to take most of the heat in his place, such as Phraesto or Ulmus.

  • Dream Realm –  Daimon is in a bit of an awkward spot for Dream Realm, because, at least in Pre-Endless bosses, he does not make the cut in most teams, as he cannot replace Phraesto in a damage role, and he cannot replace the Buffer/Healer of choice either, because his sustain by himself is not good enough. Out of the bosses tested, (5 out of 8 in DR) he was top tier in Thalassa, and the Blightshroom Primal Lord.

  •  PVP – Daimon is used almost exclusively as a Shemira buffer, but he is not tanky enough to work as a solo Tank, even with the help of Hugin to double dip on shield generation. So we end up running duo Tank setups with him and he takes the role of tanky Buffer with some sustain. But Daimon cannot keep up against higher Paragon enemies, or Athalia teams that can just snipe Shemira, and needs to have at least Paragon parity with enemy teams to really stand a chance against the burst damage of current meta builds. He does fit very well in Supreme Arena Shemira teams though, where players have to spread out their resources a bit more.

Investment

Daimon can perform his Buffer role just fine at 1 dupe, though he won’t be tanking very well, he doesn’t have to, as a duo Tank setup is perfectly viable.

  • Legendary+ makes him tankier.

  • Mythic+ gives him a Fear-based attack, similar to Berial and Silvina.

  • EX+10 adds some damage to this skill, based on enemy HP%.

  • Supreme+ gives allies healing when their shield expires, improving the survivability of any team making use of shields.

His sweet spot in terms of dupes is at Supreme, EX +10, because while his S+ ability is pretty decent, realistically the first time it triggers it will be wasted, as upon losing their shield the character most likely will be nearly at full HP anyway, so it might be a good move to just save the potential 24k diamonds from those last 2 dupes and slowly finish upgrading him through the wishlist. If using him against bosses, it is recommended to go all the way to S+ for the stats.

Conclusion

Daimon is more of a Support than a dedicated Tank, and is mostly delegated to a specific Shemira Buffer role at the moment. But once Endless bosses come around, Daimon may yet become a lot more relevant. Pull for him if you want to have an easier time pushing AFK stages, and for the occasional boss usage.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Tanky Buffer.

  • Decent damage for a Tank, with many HP%-based attacks.

  • Works at 1 dupe.

  • Shield Synergy.

Cons

  • Not Tanky enough to Solo Tank.

  • Worse than Phraesto in the Tank-DPS Role.

  • Pure Shield archetypes are not quite meta yet with the current character roster.

  • Currently relegated to a Shemira Buffer role and not much else.

Guides

EX Investment

Since the

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
and
Twilight Essence
Twilight Essence
are very hard to obtain, you have to be really careful with the using them to upgrade the EX weapon. And in this guide we ordered all characters by the priority when it comes to how much they need investment in their EX weapon to work well and where should you stop to get the best bang for your buck.

Color explanation:

  • +X - where every character starts,
  • +X - the next step that you should do when investing into that character - for some characters this will be enough,
  • +X - the final step you should do when investing into that character - you can go beyond that later though once you have the Essences to spare.
