Analysis

Review

Gabriel is a Light Tank whose kit revolves around countering Dark Bosses in PVE - they deal magical damage, and Gabriel is an MDEF tank, but also with her being Light element, she directly counters them, so they deal less damage to her. On top of that Gabriel brings PDEF shred that will make dealing with bosses much easier.

Still, you can use her with good success in any other PVE modes as thanks to her Light element, you don't have to worry about her being countered. Just keep in mind that Light characters have lower stats compared to others and while the element makes Gabriel universal, sometimes bringing a tank of the opposing element is more worthwhile, as enemies will deal less damage to him. And also that among all SSR tanks, she has the lowest PDEF stat, so she will hit harder compared to others.

As for PVP, she sadly lacks stuns so there Richard and Kasia will still be the preferred choice.

Also, Gabriel has a Leader skill that is both easy to use (since it requires a Mage and an Assassin in the team) and easy to proc as it gives allies 10% more damage as long as they have less than 3 debuffs on them.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Light element is perfect for a tank as it makes Gabriel universal,

  • She's an MDEF-based tank which makes her the perfect counter to Dark Bosses,

  • she can heal before battle and keep herself alive pretty well,

  • AOE PDEF shred.

Cons

  • not so good in PVP as she lacks crowd control abilities,

  • lowest PDEF among all SSR Tanks,

  • in non-Dark dungeons while she will be easy to use, in higher levels you will want to bring a counter-elemental tank.

Runes

  • 4x Shield + 2x Snowflake/Horse/Knight/World Tree (anything that gives +5% HP as 2-piece bonus)

For secondary stats, aim for: HP, PDEF, MDEF, and Critical Resistance.
