Start the battle with 4 stacks of [Star Fragment] on self. After casting a skill on an ally, grant him [Power of Life] for 2 turns.
[Star Fragment]: Increase MATK by 3/4/5/6% per stack. Lost one stack of the buff after casting a skill and if no skill was cast during a turn, gain one stack instead. After an enemy dies, instantly gain up to 4 stacks of the buff. The buff can't be removed or stolen.

[Divine Fire]: After using an Active Attack, deal damage equal to 0.5x MATK to the target and all enemies within 2 tiles if the target survives. The effect disappears after being triggered.
Recover the HP of all allies in range by 0.75x MATK and remove 2 debuffs from them. Also, deal damage equal to 0.6x MATK to enemies in range and inflict [Ignite] for 2 turns on them.
[Ignite]: Lose 12% HP at the end of the turn (stacks up to 2 times).
Recover the HP of all allies in range by 0.75x MATK and grant them [Fire Heart] and [Toughness II] buffs for 3 turns.
[Fire Heart]: Recover own HP by 0.6x MATK after being attacked by an Active Attack and deal fixed damage equal to 0.5x MATK to enemies around in 1 tile radius.
[Toughness 2]: Reduce physical damage taken by 20%.

Valak is a Fire Priest who finally makes the mono-fire teams viable. Compared to Claphare, she's a very offensive healer as she can heal allies and deal damage to enemies at the same time. On top of that, she provides allies with a unique buff that heals them after they are attacked and also inflicts damage on the attacker.
Still, being Fire element makes her hard to use in PVP where Charlotte is still the strongest character to date. But also in PVE, you have to stay away from Water enemies as they can easily kill Valak - which can be hard to do as you actually want to be close to enemies so her skills can both deal damage to them and heal nearby allies.
Overall, if you don't have Claphare, Valak is the second-best healer in the game.
