New character - Singularity Shin Jia

Awakened Shin Jia, the tinkerbell, is a pretty great employee that specializes in buffing allies' damage output and making them harder to kill. While her special/passive locks the furthest target in sight, her sight range is actually pretty low and will most likely target frontlines. Still, this effectively disables them for 10 seconds as they are stunned for the first 5 seconds before getting sealed. Despite that, she's still a pretty great pick in the Gauntlet.

Her main usage in PvE is the massive ATK% buff that and the 10% shields she generates - up to 3 times per special skill, allowing the team to survive much longer. Her ultimate is a burst heal that also duplicates the current special skill's buff onto everyone in the field. This makes her top tier anywhere where you're racing against the time: Raids, Danger Close, even Event stages.

However, she does require some practice to use if you want to make the most out of her since her special has a limited range - most of the time not reaching the long-range snipers, and her ultimate will give the lowest buff if cast at the wrong time.

Should you pull?

AJIa - Yes, 2 copies if you are competitive about DC. [ Note : DC is getting reworked and such we can't confirm whether the changes would effect dupes or boss count in general.]

New character - Raphaela Juri

Raphaela - The female version of Gabriel both belonging in tower class, Raphaela was released as a BP unit. Her kit seemed pretty underwhelming at first outside of the 2% MDL, but the 2% MDL alone made her basically impossible to kill for 3 cost and just her addition to the game increased the average length of PVP matches by 10%. As a result, her MDL was soon nerfed to 4%.

After in game tests, it quickly revealed her strength that was not mentioned in her kit. Her tower mode has an absurd hit-stun and with the 4m pseudo forward deployment, she can completely prevent units with slow attack speed from performing any action. Also, her skill multipliers are pretty insane and combined with her massive ATK% self-buffs and DPS gears, she can actually nuke backline units with both her special skill and her 50% pre-charged ult, while still applying pretty strong buffs/debuffs.

As for PVE, she has some uses, but requires manual play or else she just sits at the back for 15 seconds.

Should you buy?

Yes, great pvp and niche pve unit.

New character - Goliath

The Mech that broke the PVP and changed the meta to anti-siege in merely a few hours after the release. Why? Not only it had around 180k HP when geared, which combined with high DEF made really hard to kill. But the biggest issue was the basic attack - it dealt a whooping 30% of the target's remaining HP over 1 second after hitting someone and for whatever reason the damage bypasses MDL. There are videos floating around with Evolved One simply dying in a few seconds after Goliath started pounding on her.

Still, the developers reacted quickly and, the same day released a statement that they were looking into the issue. One week later Goliath was nerfed and it looks like it may have been too harsh. Not only were its stats lowered drastically, but also the bonus damage to ships was removed. This basically made him a worse Rhino in PVP.

Should you pull?

No, unless you are a siege gamer.

New character - Grendel

We had to wait for a long time for another Sniper Mech to be added to the game and oh boy, all that waiting was worth it. Compared to Estaque, who even after the buff takes ages to deploy and actually do something, Grendel swaps between walking and fighting modes nearly instantly.

When comparing Grendel to other Snipers, her DPS is a bit worse than base Xiao Lin, but this still puts her close to the top. Still, Grendel provides way more utility than base Xiao. She's the second employee in the game that can Reflux Barriers (which means that she not only removes them from enemies but also deals additional damage based on the value of the barrier), which means that in PVP she can counter some of the current meta employees like Rearmed Esterosa and Awakened Jake that rely on barriers to survive.

She also has permanent Hitstun Immunity allowing her to constantly damage her enemies, but she's pretty squishy herself and this combined with 0 Evasion makes her an easy target for roadrager Kang and Elizabeth.

Should you pull?

Yes, great sniper for pvp and decent pve unit.

New Rearm - Orca

Rearmed Orca has one of the best HP, ATK stats for a (used to be, technically still) 3-cost employee, performing better than some of the awakened units. Her damage output is easily top tier in any content where her passive works and her HP pool is massive on top of the 5% self-healing she gets from taking damage, making her a dealer/offtank hybrid monster in PvE.

In PVP, she sat at the top of the tier list since the day she was released, but recently she was nerfed. Her deployment cost was increased from 3 to 4 and also, her passive healing is the same in PVP as in PVE. This was enough to drop her down a tier as she's now competing with other 4-cost Strikers for the cost - while she recovers 1 deployment cost if she's set as a Leader, that's not always possible due to bans or other employees working better as the leader of the team.

Overall, she's up there with Xiao Lin and Esterosa Rearms as one of the employees to Rearm first for PvE players

Should you Rearm?

Yes. Just yes.

New Rearm - Miya

Best Streamer Miya is basically Miya on steroids. She's one of those Rearms that didn't drastically change compared to the base version - her offensive capabilities have significantly improved, but she also inherited all the downsides of her base version - she's still squishy, and Kang loves to drive her car into her, and her ult also can be easily interrupted by Lily or other backline attackers.

The issue with her base kit's passive was that it took too long to charge up and it wouldn't apply the buff when it matters; the rearm version fixes it by always applying the passive buff during ultimate. Also, her skill has been improved to more reliably punish offending units by utilizing Sure Fire and stun.

And for the main part of the kit, her ultimate, has been reworked. The valid hit was reduced from 4 to 3, which means a single awakened defender can now absorb the valid hits, but to compensate for it, the charge time has been improved and she now fires all the 3 shots in quick succession.

In PVP, she needs a team built around her to protect her, stalling as much time as possible for her to charge up her ultimate, and if done right she can take out a huge chunk of the enemy's ship's hp while causing ruin to their battle formation
