Also decreases the target's Speed by 20% for 8 sec if they are inflicted with a debuff.

Executioner's Authority

Carnelian's basic attack grants 1 stack of "Execution" to her. Each stack of "Execution" permanently increases her Speed by 4% and decreases her total damage received by 2% but also decreases her Mana Recovery by 4% (up to 10 stacks).
When "Execution" reaches 10 stacks, she consumes all stacks and gains "Executioner's Authority," during which her basic attack deals damage equal to 150% of ATK, and every 4th basic attack deals damage equal to 450% of ATK.

Carnelian is an Angel DEX Ranger who aims to empower her Basic Attacks while firing off powerful AOE subskills. Carnelian’s Basic Attacks grant her stacks of Execution (giving her bonus combat stats) and Retribution (which enable the use of her AOE Subskills). Her attacks are further boosted when the enemy is Cursed or afflicted with a debuff.
Released at the end of Q3 2025, Carnelian boasts an enviable combination of both strong AOE and sustained single-target damage. Her Main Skill allows her attack pattern to be reset to her S1 and S2, allowing her to fire off a barrage of powerful AOE subskills. On top of this, her Basic Attacks are amplified by both her Passive and Artifact skill, allowing them to reach upwards of 380% per attack and 800% per enhanced attack when attacking Cursed enemies.
The combination of her Main and Sub-skills allows Carnelian to quickly dump a lot of AOE damage while knocking back and dropping Speed debuffs and Silence on enemies. Carnelian scales well with both debuffers and buff support alike and can easily fit into a variety of teams.
Carnelian also slots nicely into the current debuff-heavy raid meta, having good synergy with top debuffers such as Larimar and Haru (Kamuy), who both have a Curse DoT to scale off. Her kit fares well against the Pluto (Type advantage), Charite (ATK debuff) and Dark Knight (AOE Damage) Guild raids, scoring decently well in other Raid content through sheer numbers alone.
That being said, Carnelian faces stiff competition from the existing roster in their respective areas. Her Angel typing pits her against top Chaotic DPSes such as Mephistopheles (Dawn) and Linzy (Thanatos), while her AOE damage has to compete against Nia. Moreover, her best support units are in high demand in many raid comps. While her Critical Hit Rate isn’t terrible, none of her buffs increase it further, requiring multiple attempts for a high score or party buff support.
Investment:
As a DPS, we always encourage at least Eternal+ (if not Origin) Ascension and Legend+ Artifact. Further investment in either will greatly boost her personal DPS. Some breakpoints include:
Legendary+ Artifact - Grants her 2 stacks of Execution per Basic Attack instead of 1, allowing her to ramp up to “Executioner’s Authority” within 1 to 2 cycles.
Origin Artifact - Likely the highest boost to her damage as she can fire off enhanced 600% Basic Attacks every other hit.
Conclusion:
Carnelian is a strong DPS with no clear weaknesses, and a strong pickup for both new and veteran players alike. However, with the Q4 Roadmap leaking into the game’s 3rd Anniversary, those on the fence might wish to wait for news before hard-committing resources.
