Another excellent tank but from the human faction. Claire has the unique ability to instantly jump in between enemy frontline/backline, which indirectly draws their aggro even without a taunt like other tanks such as Chloe and Petra. She is an excellent choice when heavily invested to the point where you don’t need to rely on her staying within the range of Catherine’s invincibility/heals. On the flip side, without the investments will leave Claire extremely squishy since she lacks the durability until she could use her M1.
This inevitably leads to an issue on opportunity cost when it comes to who you should invest; typically your first origin or the unit you hyper-invest levels and artifacts on should be your main DPS, like Aki, Vivi, or Honglan. This leaves Claire in a rough spot during the resource bottlenecks, where we have limited resources in who to invest. When compared to Chloe who requires much lesser resources to maintain her tankiness, Claire will inevitably fall short when not given enough stats since her kit lacks the inner tankiness when compared to Chloe. As such, we can’t recommend her to be in the same tier as Chloe, but in a vacuum where both are >201 and origin’ed with proper artifacts and gears, Claire will start to match up or even outshine Chloe in some stages.
Claire, unfortunately, falls short just like any other tank since they are a DPS check, although this could change in the future with the introduction of more bosses that hits harder (such as guild coop).
Claire is an excellent tank that can disrupt enemy backlines by diving into them (provided that she survives), while your backlines focus fire. Her S2 and S3 are great disrupters that knocks the backline down, which allows for your own backline to use their skills first.
Can jump in enemy backline to focus their aggro on her.
Need heavy investment to be useful and survive in enemy backline alone.
