A ranger that deals tons of damage upon 7 stacks of her magic bullets, Miriam currently has one of the highest damaging single target M1 in the game, the only other unit contesting this being Violette. Unlike Violette who needs a proper setup to stack debuffs on the target, Miriam really only has one condition; manually using her M1 to go off only at 7 stacks.
Her kit itself is really basic compared to the other units, but it doesn’t make her irrelevant. In story stages, she excels at taking out frontlines especially if there is only one since her artifacts grant physical resistance debuff as well as increase crit damage taken, making the tank much softer for your team to focus fire down. Couple this with a unit like Mephi which grants a teamwide crit buff and an enemy defense down, it makes for an excellent synergy to melt tanks.
The issue with Miriam lies in most story chapters that tend to have plenty of backline support as well as healers and debuffers to back up the frontline line Miriam is aiming. Since she herself cannot target the backline at all, her damage could be mitigated by the constant heals and shields provided by enemy Catherine and Talia, while your own frontline slowly gets chipped off by the enemy backline since the latter is not taking any damage. Resources would be more efficient when invested in units that can target backlines, or your own frontline, rather than Miriam which excels at taking out the frontline only.
That said, a hyper-invested Miriam that can oneshot or at least deal tremendous damage to tanks is extremely useful, in particular from friend hires.
Miriam deals tremendous amounts of damage, and her basic attacks reducing physical res on top of increasing incoming crit dmg make us believe she will be a staple in end-game boss stages once she is properly invested. Be sure to always use her M1 only at 7 stacks to see the insane damage numbers.
Miriam is great at dismantling single target frontlines, but because of the inability to control her M1, it might be problematic if she uses her M1 at <7 stacks. Her susceptibility to assassins and hooks also makes her vulnerable to those common enemy archetypes.
Highest ST Damage potential after Violette.
Tank killer.
Needs to be manualed to get the best out of her damage.
Can't be solo carry due to not hitting backline at all.
