Yoohee is an all-purpose support with team-wide damage buffs and defensive utility who specializes at amplifying Physical damage.
To touch on those team-wide buffs, Yoohee contributes:
Crit DMG% buffs: Yoohee grants the team an additive +10% Crit DMG% buff by way of her Dance Steps mechanic.
Team Sustain: “Graceful” Dance Steps applies a heal-after-attack buff and a second stronger team-wide heal when Best Dancer proc is resolved.
Defensive Utility: “Passionate” Dance Steps applies an immediate team-wide Shelter buff on cast and, more importantly, a team-wide debuff cleanse when Best Dancer proc is resolved.
Stability Damage Buffs: Yoohee grants the team stability shred by way of her Stability Assault buff, applied through her Ultimate skill. Stability Assault buff functions identically to the more commonly found Stability Loss debuff.
Yoohee’s core identity revolves around her Physical damage team-buff, Never Give Up, a potent self-buff that applies a stacking +15% DEF Ignore team-wide effect on all Physical damage dealt (stacks up 4 times, for +60% DEF Ignore). Never Give Up disables itself for 2 full rounds if any ally deals elemental damage. This makes Yoohee unusually restrictive to build around, especially for Physical damage dealers thinking to expand into hybrid comps.
Fixed Keys core to Yoohee’s function are:
N/A: Yoohee’s Fixed Keys focus heavily on her damage which, without significant dupe investment, is irrelevant as her personal damage output is negligible.
Fixed Keys of situational relevance that supplement Yoohee’s core function are:
4-01 - Tempo Resonance: Cleanse is essential for bypassing certain boss mechanics, such as Deichgraf's DEF buff, and Yoohee makes this easy with frequent use of her Skill 2.
As of writing, Yoohee does not have a Mod/Expansion Key.
Yoohee functions mainly as a Physical team damage amplifier, but can also serve as a generalist support. Yoohee does this through her unique Dance Step and Best Dancer mechanics. To summarize all the relevant pieces in one place:
Yoohee has 1 Basic, 3 Skills, and 2 “Additional Skills”: Graceful Pirouette and Passionate Resonance.
These can be cast once per command for free, through her passive
These can also be accessed by skill effect, through her Skill 2
Each Additional Skill applies a Dance Steps buff for 3 turns:
Graceful Pirouette applies Graceful Spin (“Graceful” Dance Steps, for clarity)
Applies a +10% CRIT DMG buff
Heals for 20% of target’s ATK
Passionate Resonance applies Passionate Spin (“Passionate” Dance Steps, for clarity)
Applies a +10% CRIT DMG buff
Applies 2 stacks of the Shelter buff
Every time Yoohee applies an instance of Dance Steps, she will accumulate 1 stack.
At 3 stacks, Yoohee will immediately consume them to cast Best Dancer.
Stacks are capped at 3 and do not accumulate beyond this limit.
Best Dancer provides team-wide effects that scale based on the number and type of stacks consumed:
For every stack by “Graceful” Dance Steps, Heal all allies for 15% of Yoohee’s max HP
For every stack by “Passionate” Dance Steps, cleanse 1 debuff from all allies
For Physical damage dealers, Yoohee also provides:
Never Give Up:
Stacking self-buff that applies a team-wide +15% DEF Ignore effect on Active Physical damage dealt
Never Give Up stacks up 4 times, for a total of +60% DEF Ignore
Never Give Up stacks are stacked on Best Dancer proc, which triggers when Yoohee applies 3 instances of Dance Steps
Defense Shredding: A buff that converts excess DEF% shred (above what’s needed to offset target DEF) into +DMG%, applied on Dance Steps
Yoohee is designed first and foremost to be a comprehensive support for Physical teams, to the extent that her unique buffs form the basis for the team’s viability. Broadly speaking, Physical damage dealers leverage Yoohee’s Never Give Up buff and some combination of innate and external DEF buffs/ debuffs to overcap DEF shred and convert the excess to +DMG%, by way of Yoohee’s Defense Shredding buff.
While review analyses do not generally extend beyond V0/V1 for SSRs, Yoohee is most notable for her value as a generalist support at V3. In addition to her base kit, Yoohee’s dupes add high-value buffs (Attack Up II on V1, Stability Assault II on V1, Defense Down II on V2), made complete with an Ultimate cooldown reduction effect at V3 for her uptime issues. Yoohee(V3) sees extensive use in Electric teams for these buffs alone.
SSR characters are typically reviewed at V0/V1 strength. However, for especially dedicated players, it is worth noting Yoohee’s significant dupe powerspikes are at:
V1: Beyond the additional Attack Up II buff applied on Ultimate skill, Yoohee’s V1 importantly changes the Dance Steps buff application from a targeted to team-wide effect. This significantly increases Yoohee’s Best Dancer proc rate, as stacks towards Best Dancer count instances of Dance Steps applied. Among other things, this greatly increases the speed at which Yoohee stacks her Never Give Up Physical damage DEF Ignore buff.
V2: Most notable for the additional Defense Down II debuff applied on Best Dancer proc which, in tandem with V1 Attack Up II buff applied on Ultimate skill, gives Yoohee enough support utility to begin to see use as a viable general purpose support. V2 also bolsters Yoohee’s Dance Steps buffs with added effects: “Graceful” Dance Steps now has heal-on-cast, and “Passionate” Dance Steps now gives Yoohee single-target cleanse capability, for the situational utility it provides (i.e., Gunsmoke Nemertea buff-on-dispel stacking mechanic).
V3: Greatly improves Yoohee’s buff frequency by way of Ultimate skill cooldown reduction on Best Dancer proc, and adds a free Skill 1 auto-proc on Ultimate skill cast, for all the utility that comes with a free attack (damage, stability shred, various character interactions, etc.). Yoohee’s cooldown reduction is a significant quality of life improvement that greatly boosts her usability. It removes much of the awkwardness that comes with managing her buff timings, and neatly rounds out her kit.
Comprehensive all-purpose support for Physical teams
Yoohee’s Defense Shredding buff forms the foundation for which modern Physical damage dealers are designed around (heavy emphasis on DEF shred effects).
Timing Yoohee’s cleanse (applied on Best Dancer proc) can be tricky, and requires some foresight and planning to ensure it triggers when needed.
For a “Physical” support, Yoohee only really buffs a subset of Physical damage, as her Never Give Up DEF Ignore buff only applies to Active Skill damage.
For all the complexity and moving pieces to her kit, Yoohee(V0) doesn’t actually provide much of value.
