Review
The saviour of Charge society, some proclaim. LCE E.G.O::AEDD Gregor, shortened to AEDD Gregor for the sake of this review, is a pure Charge support ID who focuses on giving allies Charge Count through his passive/status. The next few paragraphs will break down his entire kit one by one! Firstly, he has a total of 4 unique statuses.
High-voltage Exoskeleton acts as a better Charge barrier (by a small margin), giving Shield and converting it to Charge Count at the end of the turn based on stack.
Self-charge gives him final power and acts as a last-ditch effort to do something before dying. As long as he has this status, he will not drop below 1 HP. There are multiple ways to decrease/remove this status, such as attack end of skills that hit this unit, attack end, and turn end.
Photoelectricity gives the attacker Charge Count equal to the stack. If the attacker has 5 or fewer Charge Count they gain 3 more. One of the methods for him to spread Charge Count
Charged Sting acts as a Fragile, making the enemy take 20% more damage at max from skills that gain or consume Charge Count. For Envy skills, this is further increased to 40% at max. You lose 1 stack on the attack end or the turn end, after the conditions previously mentioned are fulfilled.
Next, he has a total of 3 passives. To summarize, his first and second passives are always active and do the following:
Gives Charge Potency for every 10 Charge Count spent.
Converts Charge Barrier into High-voltage Exoskeleton.
Min & Max Speed at 3+ Charge Potency.
Immortality through the Self-charge status lasting about 1~4 turns if his HP drops to 0.
1 Offense Level Up for all allied units with the “E.G.O. Gear” trait keywords if there are 3+ allies with said keywords.
Lastly, it improves the AEDD Gregor E.G.O passive by consuming his own HP if he doesn’t have 12+ Charge Count. Only triggers at 25%+ HP.
The third passive requiring 2 Gloom and 2 Envy Owned does as follows:
A one-time only +10 Charge Count on combat start upon passive activation; it is necessary to plan ahead to not overcap Charge Count beyond 20.
At more than 12 Charge Count, he will spend any excess Charge Count with a maximum of 8 and donate half of it to an ally with the lowest Charge Count. If there are no allies with an earlier deployment order than AEDD Gregor or AEDD Gregor has 3+ Charge Potency, this effect gets deactivated. A pretty strong effect that unfortunately gets bricked after spending 30 Charge Count with only a 15% damage boost on Skill 3-2 to offer.
At 2+ Gloom or Envy Res, apply +2 Charge Count next turn on allies with earlier deployment order than AEDD Gregor, based on deployment order and a maximum of 3 allies. This effect gets strengthened to +4 Charge Count if AEDD Gregor has 3+ Charge Potency, and if there are no allies with earlier deployment order, he will apply it to himself. Most of the time, this effect will always be active in a Charge-based team comp.
Finally, onto his skills:
Skill 1 - Electric Release - 2 Coin Skill - Base roll 11 - Max roll 17 - A pretty high rolling Skill 1, even by Season 7 standards, does good damage and can generate a total of 6 Charge Count.
Skill 2 - DC Inversion - 3 Coin Skill - Base roll 16 - Max roll 23 - Skill that generates a total of 7 Charge Count and applies Photoelectricity.
Skill 3 - High-voltage Current Discharge - 3 Coin Skill - Base roll 17 - Max roll 26 - Gives AEDD Gregor High-voltage Skeleton equal to Charge Potency, 2 Charge Count, inflict Photoelectricity and Charged Sting. The damage to this skill is not worth mentioning.
Skill 3-2 - Maximum Output - Ultra High-voltage Current Discharge - 3 Coin Skill - Base roll 20 - Max roll 30 - A slightly better skill 3 with mainly triple target instead of one and the ability to inflict Charge Sting on consecutive turns, with somewhat mediocre damage on a single target.
Defensive Skill - This E.G.O Gift's Defensive Capability is Uniquely Superior - Guard - Base roll 15 - Max roll 20 - Gives 2 Charge Count and High-voltage Exoskeleton (equivalent to 4 Charge Count).
To sum up, AEDD Gregor can be a great addition to the Charge team compared to the other IDs that help with Charge generation, which, at the time of writing this review, include W Corp Outis and Multicrack Heathcliff.
Unfortunately, there is an abundance of E.G.O that supports Charge generation, reducing his overall value as a Charge support. Moreover, his Charge support’s targeting can be a double-edged sword, as it can either help specific IDs who want more Charge Count than needed deal more damage, such as Multicrack Faust or W Corp. Heathcliff and allow more control. On the other hand, it will continue targeting those same IDs even if they have reached the maximum Charge Count and have no way to spend it. Other than his Charge support, his only worth is a damage sponge from Self-charge, as his damage is very mediocre and his Rupture application is designed only for Mirror Dungeon. BUT other than the previously mentioned negatives, he is very good at his job and his speed range of 5-7 (6-8 at 3+ Charge Potency) allows him to act the earliest, allowing for more spread out support through Photoelectricity and Charged Sting.
Charge: Quite obvious, as his only worth is Charge generation.
AEDD Gregor - Speeds up his Charge gain and Charge support tremendously.
Very good Charge generator.
Can be a damage sponge with Self-charge.
Passive can allow for a more focused Charge support “targeting”.
Is only good at generating Charge, with personal damage being on the mediocre side.
Earlier Deployment targeting can be a double-edged sword.
Charged Sting value diminishes depending on the amount of low damage Charge-related skills used.
In this section we have listed best E.G.O.s, one per their rank for the Identity - starting with Zayin from left.
