Overview

Min Byung-Gu is an excellent support, applying strong debuffs to the enemies while also being able to heal and buff his allies. Healing on its own is not necessarily amazing, but with everything else that he can provide, he is an amazing option to run on your teams - he does not need to be on for long and lets the others shine.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Generic Support that fits all teams.

  • Powerful Crit buffs .

Cons

  • Can be replaced by specialized supports.

  • Requires heavy investment for best synergy with Cha.

  • Disguise usage is restricted to limited scenarios.

Review

Min is a straightforward, easy-to-use character who has proven to be a staple in many game modes and is unlikely to ever fade away completely. Let's take a closer look at what makes him so valuable.

Min's skills are fairly simple, so we won't spend too much time on them. The most important part of his kit is his Passive, the [Disguise] mechanic. The activation conditions are simple: whenever you bring Min onto the battlefield by Swapping another character for him, either with the QTE skill or by tagging him in, he obtains a unique effect. This effect not only reduces the next instance of damage he takes but, more importantly, buffs all his abilities for up to 10 seconds, as long as he doesn't get hit. You will always want to use Min's skills while under the effect of [Disguise], as the character loses a lot of its viability otherwise. Additionally, bringing Min onto the field with his QTE charges the Ult Gauge (Power Gauge) of all your teammates by 50%, making the first Ultimate available exceedingly fast.

When it comes to advancements, Min is an all-or-nothing kind of character. A1 and A5 are by far his best stopping points, and anything in between is fairly negligible. A1 gives everyone on your team Crit Rate and Crit Damage, while A5 adds another layer of damage boosting to Min's already stacked Ultimate.

Min's personal weapon, Eternal Slumber, offers yet another source of damage amplification tied once again to his Ultimate, further reinforcing his affinity with burst-heavy characters. The weapon scales well, so upgrading it will almost always result in higher damage, except when Min is used as a Jinwoo Support since it's impossible for Min to use his Ultimate in those circumstances.

In the artifact department, the Burning Blessing set stands head and shoulders above the rest, synergizing exceedingly well with Min's offensive in-and-out playstyle. The usual support options also apply, including the Destroyer and Guardian sets for armors, and the Outstanding Connection set for jewelry. Considering he can buff hunters based on his Crit Damage, Min can—and should—build Crit Damage to maximize his buffing potential when under [Disguise]. The most relevant stats for both Main and Subs on him will be Crit Damage, HP (both % and flat), and Increased Healing Given to a lesser extent.

Min is extremely versatile when considering team building. He fits perfectly in the mono Light team alongside Cha and Baek, but he will also easily fit in with every other element, except Water and, to some extent, Dark, as those elements already possess powerful offensive supports such as Meilin for Water and Lee Bora for Dark. Emma is another supporter that greatly helps Fire, but in terms of offensive support, she'd be a far cry from Min, especially when playing a single carry DPS if you were not to use and abuse the Greed Set for one reason or another. Overall, Min is a one-size-fits-all character, so whenever you're unsure of how to tackle new challenges, give him a chance!

Should You Pull for Min?

The short answer is yes. The longer answer is that Min offers so much utility that there are no circumstances in which you wouldn't want to have him as an option to build your teams. Put him in your wishlist until you have at least two copies of him, and then decide if you want to keep him there for the long term or if you want to focus on other characters or weapons to diversify your options.

It's important to note that Min is not designed to overperform in Team Fights (four-character content) as his [Disguise] is unusable there, meaning that his usefulness is limited in content like Path of Destruction at lower investment. At higher advancements, he still proves competitive but isn't future-proof in those specific types of content.

Investment

Whether you are F2P, Dolphin, or Whale, A1 Min will be one of the cornerstones of your account for general progression and most content. If you want to fully exploit his synergy with Cha/Choi and future Ultimate-based nukers, you'll be looking at A5. Stopping anywhere in-between is not recommended.
