Making a splash on the stage, Shuhua is our newest Water DPS with the G-IDLE collaboration. Learn how she fares in the current environment and see if she's worth your hard earned tickets!
Balanced and easy to use.
Free.
At A5 she gets free Critical Hit Rate, making her good for progressing players that missed out on Cha.
She’s essentially a weaker Water Cha.
Takes a lot of pull to get her best buffs and even then she is a bit mediocre for a Limited (get her dupes now or possibly never)
Shuhua's base skills are relatively basic, as her abilities change significantly with the buffs from her ascension passives.
Her basic attack doesn't have any special buff, while her Core Attack, Rhythmic Beatdown sends the enemy [Airborne].
Her skill 1. Pop Star Landing makes a superman jump and sends the enemy [Airborne], much like her skill 2 Starlight Bark.
Her QTE, Twilight Arpeggio also sends enemies [Airborne], and so does her Ultimate, Catharsis in Harmony.
Meanwhile, her support skill Showtime also sends the enemy in the air while also granting the [Performance] buff to SJW, granting him a Shield based on 10% of his total attack.
At A0, using Popstar Landing activates the [On the stage] effect that grants [Performance] to Shuhua, a buff that gives 50% extra Core Attack damage. Meanwhile, using Starlight bark (and its enhanced version, Starlight Howl) activates [High-Energy] for 3 seconds, which turns her Core Attack in High-Energy Beat, increasing its damage by 50%. Lastly, when using a Core Attack you reduce the Skill 1 and Skill 2 cooldown by 3 seconds. That's a loaded A0 - and makes you wonder why they didn't just add these effects to her Basic skills.
At A1 her [High-Energy] buff is enhanced, plus when you hit an enemy with the Core Attack while the buff is active you also inflict the [Tension drop] debuff. This debuff increases the Water damage taken from Shuhua by 1%, stacking up to 10 times. The debuff lasts for 30 seconds The buffed version of [High-Energy] increases the Core Attack damage by 100% and reduces the cooldown of Skill 1 and 2 by 5 seconds, making it faster to spam her skills.
At A2 Starlight Bark changes into Starlight Howl, now dealing 100% more damage.
At A3, Performance is improved, adding a 10% Power Gauge gain while also adding the [Tension UP] buff, a 20% Water damage buff for 3 seconds.
A4 simply boosts Shuhua's Attack by 16%.
Finally, A5 is a significant damage buff, as it grants Shuhua the [Volume UP] buff when using her skill 2. Additionally, it significantly increases the Attack Speed for her buffed up Core Attack, High-energy beat. Volume up increases Shuhua's Damage Dealt and Critical Hit Rate by 30%, making it a powerful buff while it's active.
Shuhua's weapon is quite simple: using her Core Attack or her buffed Core Attack grants 30% more damage to her Ultimate, stacking up to 10 times. It’s a powerful buff so make sure you max her weapon if you plan to use her - keep in mind, the stacks reset after using her Ultimate attack.
As most DPS, she can use 8 piece Infamy or 4 piece Curse + 4 piece Expert depending on the content.
Shuhua is a Water DPS and can be paired with Seorin and Meilin. She doesn't really break the mold when it comes to Water units but she can see play in Guild Boss teams where she can replace Lee Bora in the Water focused team in order to free her up for your second team. This can be useful depending on how invested your account is.
Players will get Shuhua for free, so the topic should mostly be focused on getting her dupes. Honestly speaking Shuhua is a balanced and fun unit that doesn't really shake the Water meta. Compared to Miyeon that is able to stand side by side with Thomas, there is an abyss between Shuhua and Water Cha, making Shuhua currently a fun pick and nothing more. That being said, all it takes is one dedicated support to shoot up the DPS rankings, so you never know, things can easily change in the future.
For F2P: A1 will be enough to ensure you can play around with Shuhua.
For Dolphins: You can aim for A3 as it empowers her buffs nicely.
For Whales and Big Spenders: Considering the collaboration might not rerun and it's likely these units are not gonna be added to black tickets, A5+ is where you want to go to ensure you can use the unit to its max potential, if you deem her worthy.
As of now, we have no confirmation regarding if the collaboration units will remain or not after the end of the collaboration period. If you like the characters, regardless of meta, you should roll them now to your desired ascension to ensure you won't regret missing out later. We will still compare them to the currently available units, so that you can get a good feel of where they stand in the meta and who they replace/offer alternatives for.
SHUHUA rating takes into account their performance in all matter of PVE content.

For SSR characters, you always want to use their Signature/EX Weapon - they are simply the best for them. Until you obtain the signature weapon, just use the options listed below. The priority is set from left to right. Also, If you have a Signature/EX weapon for a Hunter that is not in your team you can consider using it for the raw stats alone - as long as it matches the character.
