Overview

Yuqi is our latest Fire Breaker and she packs a punch - quite literally! Let’s see if she can smash those Break bars and carve herself a place in the Fire meta.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Limited character.

  • Powerful Guild Boss character.

  • Potential longevity in Fire content.

Cons

  • Sidegrade to a non limited Hunter.

  • No new Fire content on the horizon outside of Guild Boss and “PoD”.

Review

Yuqi is an HP scaling Fire Breaker focusing on quick attacks, kind of similar to Water Seo.

Most of her power and depth comes from her Ascension Passive, so we’ll quickly describe her normal skills just to get you more familiar with their names!

Surrounding Hit is your standard Basic Attack combo inflicting small Break damage and her Core Attack, Shouting kick inflicts small Break damage while sending the enemy [Airborne].

Her Skill 1, Amp Crash deals heavy Break damage and triggers Extreme Evasion when Yuqi is hit while using this move. Her skill 2, Rising Spin Kick, is similar but inflicts medium Break instead.

Her QTE Beatdown Rush inflicts small Break damage to the enemy and her Ultimate, Kill the Stage, inflicts almighty Break damage. Lastly, her support skill grants two buffs to the entire team, [Dance Time] and [Breakdance]. Dance Time extends Break duration by 3 seconds while Breakdance increases the [Basic Skill] damage by 10%, the Fire damage by 10% and adds 30% extra damage against enemies in a Break stage for 20 seconds. Quite useful when you want to maximise your damage against enemies that can be broken!

Ascension Passives

Instead of going over each buff it will be easier to describe how Yuqi works at A0. First off, the [FOREVER] buff is applied to the entire team when Yuqi is present during Encore and Instance Dungeons, granting a stackable 5% damage buff with infinite duration.

Whenever she uses her Skill 1, Skill 2 or Enhanced Skill 1 and Skill 2, Yuqi is going to activate her Core Attack, Shouting Kick. Every time you activate her Core Attack or use her skill 1 and 2, Yuqi builds a unique bar called the [Full Burst] gauge, while also gaining a stack for the buff [Tempo]. Each stack of this buff grants Yuqi max HP and increases the damage of her Core Attack.

When the [Full Burst] gauge is full she will get the [Full Burst] buff, which resets the cooldown on her Skill 1 and 2 and powers up the skills for more damage. In this state she also has 10% more HP, increases the Break effectiveness of her Core Attack by 25% and the damage of it by 10%. You cannot gain [Tempo] stacks when [Full Burst] is active and the buff has a 10 second duration.

  • At A1, the charge rate of [Full Burst] increases by 100% and using her Skill 1 and 2 (both normal and buffed up version) inflicts a stack of [Distortion], a debuff increasing the damage taken by the target by 3%. When it stacks 3 times it will turn into [Breakdown], increasing the damage taken by 15% instead and also adding an extra 20% Fire Damage Taken, for a duration of 20 seconds. You cannot activate [Distortion] while [Breakdown] is active and you can also activate this debuff by using her Ultimate.

  • At A2 Yuqi increases her Break effectiveness by 20%, letting her Break the enemy faster.

  • At A3, her [Full Burst] is improved: it now doubles the Break efficiency of her Core Attack, increases the damage and the max HP bonus. Also, using her Core Attack or buffed up Skill 1 and 2 charges 20% Power Gauge, once per cast. Using her Ultimate also activates a new buff, [Afterglow], for the entire team. This buff increases the Damage to Broken targets by 12%, grants 15% increase in Basic Skills & Ultimate Damage and increases Critical Damage by 15% for 20 seconds.

  • At A4, she grants 5% Fire damage to Fire element allies for every Fire ally in the team, up to 30% in Guild Boss.

  • At A5 Yuqi gains a potency increase on her buffs: [Distortion] now increases Damage Taken by 6%, [Breakdown] increases Damage Taken by 20% and Fire Damage Taken by 25% and [Afterglow] now grants 30% Damage for Basic Skills & Ultimate and 20% Critical Damage.

Equipment and Gear

Yuqi’s weapon, Righteous Sun, increases her Fire damage by up to 30% when activating [Full Burst]. Solid for personal damage but doesn’t change her playstyle or provide buffs to her team.

Being a Breaker you can use the two 8 piece sets, Burning Greed and Chaotic Desire. Greed is great when you want to improve the team’s Critical Rate or when you don’t have another member running the set - in case you are using support SJW in raid, while Chaotic Desire lets Yuqi deal more damage and provide an elemental damage buff to the team.

Gearwise you should focus on HP, Critical Rate and Critical Damage, as this will maximize Yuqi’s damage.

Team Setups

Yuqi can be played in the standard Kanae team instead of Esil offering different buffs but comparable debuffs, without needing to stack the [Prey] debuffs. If you already have Esil you can consider Yuqi a sidegrade, but she will mostly shine in Guild Bosses where she can replace Emma in a second team while playing Mono Fire.

Should you roll for Yuqi?

Let’s start the discussion with the usual disclaimer: Yuqi is a collab unit that may very likely never come back. Because of that she can appear as a very appealing unit, considering you either get her now or might never get more copies in the future. As part of the collaboration players will get one copy of Yuqi  for free, and it’s very easy to get her to A1 to unlock the extra debuffs. Right now the next upcoming characters will probably not focus on the Fire element, meaning the Fire team will probably be untouched for a few patches.

If you are mostly a player that wants to clear content and isn’t super competitive in Guild Bosses or PoD you can probably keep Yuqi at A1 or roll a bit more to improve her buffs, as she doesn’t need dupes as much as other collab characters do. For the same reason, we suggest investing in Yuqi if you are in a more competitive Guild or want to improve your Rage count/PoD scoring as she will be a great upgrade over Emma when playing mono Fire, so we’ll be following this team’s performance very closely!

  • If you are F2P: We suggest to roll until you get A1 Yuqi, especially if you don’t have Esil built yet;

  • Dolphins and small spenders should consider stopping at A3 as it unlocks her [Afterglow] buff for powerful buffs;

  • Competitive Guild Boss players, PoD enjoyers and in general higher spenders should go the extra mile for A5, considering her A4 passive boosts the team and the extra potency on her buffs when maxed out.

Best Weapons

For SSR characters, you always want to use their Signature/EX Weapon - they are simply the best for them. Until you obtain the signature weapon, just use the options listed below. The priority is set from left to right. Also, If you have a Signature/EX weapon for a Hunter that is not in your team you can consider using it for the raw stats alone - as long as it matches the character.
