Blade Lineage Meursault used to be a “Godsent” ID, got powercrept afterwards, and now, thanks to Shadow-vested Bladesinger [着影揮刀] E.G.O and actually competent Blade Lineage Identity, which is LCD OSIR Team Ishmael, he claims his way to “relevance” again. Said E.G.O. makes him a double-status ID, which is mostly relevant for MD. More importantly, it boosts his damage and rolls into “current standards” as of the day of the review. Of course, he won’t match the damage of House of Spiders Yi Sang or Outis, but at least it is sitting on a respectable level. Unfortunately for him, Blade Lineage did not get a “buff” as a whole. While E.G.O buffs BL to a certain degree, their kits did not age well, and it shows. The only Blade Lineage ID that can benefit somehow from the new Meursault E.G.O is Blade Lineage Yi Sang, who already had decent rolls, but now those got even higher. So while damage is still on the lower end, he is clashing way better than certain modern-day IDs, which is, honestly, quite incredible. Going back to Blade Lineage Meursault, a very welcome and deserved glow-up of a fun-to-use Identity.

Notable E.G.O. Synergies:

Regret's Passive buffs all of his skills even further, and the Slash Power Up he can gain from his Skill 2 and Counter cancels out the 1 Base Power he loses.
Screwloose Wallop makes the maximum health condition of his S3 and Counter easier to achieve, and his passive makes it so that he cannot be killed easily. Because "To Claim Their Bones" is categorized as a Defensive skill, the Attack Power Down from Meursault's Base Ego does not affect it, while also affecting Yield My Flesh, making it harder to win a clash with it.
Shadow-vested Bladesinger [着影揮刀] - Tailor-made E.G.O. that "modernizes" Meursault, giving him more damage modifiers, turns him to duo status ID, and adds better poise management. The difference between having and not having this E.G.O. is day and night. Must-have if one fancies using Blade Lineage Meursault in this day and age.

Cons

Because Yield My Flesh rolls decently high, it's sometimes difficult to lose a clash with it.
Since his passive is resonance based, To Claim Their Bones is risky even if you're not staggerable.
First stagger threshold is fairly high. Yield My Flesh helps get around that but still a risk that should be considered.
