Review
An unexpectedly strong unit released on the 8th Walpurgisnacht. [Lobotomy E.G.O::Faint Aroma & Solitude] Ryōshū is a versatile Sinking unit and is suitable for all 3 Yi Sang-based archetypes with good Tremor potential. She has a lot on her plate, so let’s look closer at what she does.
Starting with her unique effects, she has plenty of them.
Faint Aroma is her main debuff; her skillset revolves around it. It is applied whenever the enemy takes damage. It gets spread on Tremor bursts. On max stack, it triggers a Tremor Burst and makes the enemy take Gloom damage based on the Sinking stack. Consider it a mini Sinking Deluge.
Petals is a self-stacking buff that is gained on dodge and through infliction of Faint Aroma. It gives 1 - 3 Offense Level and uses her S3-2 as an Additional Attack when it gets to 30 stacks, after which it is spent.
Solitude is a debuff that is applied through S1-2. It provides 1 Gloom Fragility and some Sinking Count on the turn end. If the enemy has SP, it will take the form of a panic effect.
She has 2 passives, which do the following:
The first and always active passive allows her to use an extra Skill 1 whenever allies hit a staggered or an enemy with -40 SP. Whenever she spends all 6 bullets, she uses her S1-2 and reloads all of her ammo at the cost of 10 sp.
Her second passive is responsible for Petals' gain based on Faint Aroma infliction, Sinking damage dealt and Tremor Bursts, as well as for the use of S3-2. She also deals extra damage to staggered opponents and heals herself whenever she loses HP.
Next, we will take a look at the skills:
Skill 1 - Bang. Bang. - Base roll 12 - Max roll 16 - Above average rolling Skill 1 that spends 2 ammo and doesn’t inflict Faint Aroma by itself. Good to use for setting up S1-2. fully neutral on Sinking Count.
Skill 1-2 - Stories that Never Cease - Max roll 12 - Unclashable Unfocused Valley skill that can hit up to 3 targets. It bursts twice and inflicts Solitude. -2 on Sinking Count, which will be made up with Solitude’s effect.
Skill 2 - Blossoming Fragrance in the Void - Base roll 16 - Max roll 22 - Quite average Skill 2 with full count neutrality, good Tremor Count infliction. Spends 1 ammo and inflicts 6 Faint Aroma.
Skill 3 - Full Bloom - Base roll 17 - Max roll 23 - Below average rolling S3, which makes it up with fully neutral on Sinking Count, uncapped Gloom damage based on Sinking potency, and an extra Tremor burst. Doesn’t spend ammo but inflicts 4 Faint Aroma.
Skill 3-2 - Magnificent end - Base roll 19 - Max roll 25 - A single Coin 3 target AoE skill that activates bursts, does uncapped Gloom damage based on Sinking on target, inflicts 5 Faint Aroma and Tremor Burst.
Defence - A.A.T. - Max roll 14 - Average dodge skill that generates a lot of Petals and gives 2 Attack Power Up and 2 Fragile to self.
To sum up, she is an extremely strong Identity due to her passives that allow her to use up to 4 skills per turn. Her status infliction is not great by itself, but she is a full neutral Sinking ID that deals damage based on stacks and provides some utility. Her Tremor part of the kit also synergises with Hanafuda Ishmael quite well.
Sinking - Index Yi Sang: She is very useful here because of her extra damage and Sinking count generation from Solitude, which combines well with Hanafuda Ishmael’s Tremor - Decay, increasing the damage output of Rien Yi Sang and Index Don. On top of that, these 2 identities here have a lot of Coins, which speeds up Faint Aroma stacking by 1 turn, making it the best team for this status effect.
Sinking - Deluge: Solid pick here. She is fully neutral on count and does a lot of status damage, making Ryoshu a solid pick for this team. Even though she is not great for the Echoes of the Manor gamble, she makes it up if you can use S1-2 that applies Sinking Count. Least useful team for Faint Aroma procs, but since this archetype stacks Sinking the fastest, it still makes this effect strong.
Sinking - Solemn Lament: Her extra skills are doing a good job here, which is the last straw thrown towards this team archetype. Their synergy is ending here since this team cannot compete with the sheer number of coins the Index Yi Sang Sinking team has, which decreases the value of Faint Aroma. It is getting compensated by Butterfly damage, but doesn’t outperform the first 2 in the slightest.
Tremor: She is a fine 6th slot here, but she isn’t particularly strong here.
Really versatile unit.
Strong status based damage.
Well-functioning utility.
Low physical damage.
