Review
The Hohenheim Gregor ID is a complicated one to approach. His damage while is fine, but it is not good enough. His Status Infliction is mediocre and he doesn’t really provide any value for them. As such, the most “rewarding” use case for him is using him for SP Heal, attack redirection and enemy stat reduction, given his numerous effects that don’t do much on their own.
Starting with his unique effects, he has:
“Lamp” gives Hohenheim Gregor, Bind, based on the stack, which is only used to fulfill his conditionals consistently. When he reaches 8 stacks, he gains 10 Aggro and inflicts 3 “Dazzle” on the enemy.
Dazzle - applies up to the equivalent of 1 Fragile based on the sum of Burn and Sinking on the enemy. If the enemy has SP, it inflicts a unique panic effect “Dazzle”, inflicting Bind and Offense Level Down. However, if the enemy doesn’t have SP, it applies 2 Defense Level Down instead.
Guardians of the Forest - Heals SP for allies with Plus Coin skills, Offense Level Up if they are at 45 SP. Negative Coin allies lose SP instead and do not gain Offense Level Up.
He has 3 passives, which do the following:
The first two passives are always active. First passive gives him 1 “Lamp” every turn, allowing him to clash regardless of Speed and he gains 1 Clash Power instead of Haste when gaining Haste (he doesn’t gain Haste on his own). The second one makes an ally with the “E.G.O Gear” tag give him Defense Level Up (max 3). When an ally dies, he gets 2 Pierce DMG Up for 1 turn.
His 2 Gloom Res passive gives him even more “Lamp” based on Gloom Resonance, heals SP on self if the enemy has “Dazzle” and provides “Guardian of the Forest” to the earliest in deployment ally without this buff.
Next, we will take a look at his skills
Skill 1 - Intense Stare: Zero Range - Base roll 11 - Max roll 15 - Average Skill 1 that screws over your Sinking stack.
Skill 2 - Destroy the Visible with the Invisible - Base roll 15 - Max roll 19 - Clash 21 - Bad Skill 2 by modern standards. Do not be fooled by the extra damage modifier, as they do nothing. Only 4 Coins matter to proc extra Sinking.
Skill 3 - Salvation for Those Enchanted by the Lamp - Base roll 17 - Max roll 23 - Generic Skill 3 with fine-ish damage and no impact on your stack. Yes thats about it.
Defensive Skill - The Wick of Burned Feathers - Base roll 13 - Gives him max “Lamp” for the cost of HP. Gives Haste to allies based on Binds on Gregor.
To sum it up, he is a SP battery with small stat increases for an ally or decreases for an enemy. Since those are single-target effects, their value isn’t high. His skills are just bad, with some redeeming qualities in certain setups. His status infliction, however, is atrocious.
“Butterfly” oriented Sinking: His bad Sinking infliction doesn’t matter as much as the amount of Coins he has on Skill 2, which is why he is doing fine here.
Burn: Burn count doesn’t matter here, so he can be here to activate his conditionals, though his value is much less than other Burn Gregor IDs (cough cough Firefist).
SP healing.
Easily able to redirect enemy attack.
Fine-ish buffs and debuffs.
Tanky.
Damage leaves a lot to be desired.
Horrible status infliction.
Single target effects.
High opportunity cost of using over other Gregor IDs.
