Seven Section 6 Yi Sang, after the general passive and sanity update and the release of Railway content, experienced a “revival”.
Normally, his debuffs are not useful as everything dies way too fast, however, with the release of Railway, Yi Sang found a place where his debuffs are great for nuke setups. Overall, Yi Sang can boost damage received by enemies from Pierced attacks by 40% alone, which is massive. Thankfully, all his debuffs are applied next turn, meaning they won’t go away and will be utilized.
Worth mentioning is also the fact, that his speed range, being 5 to 8, is at the moment the highest in the game, tied with Seven Section 6 Outis which means both he and Outis, will generally go always before everybody else in a team.
Yi Sang Skill 1 and Skill 2, Flèche and Riposte respectively, while generally good in clashing, may struggle against certain Railway / Boss enemies due to Yi Sang’s below-average offense level and average skill power, however his bread and butter, Skill 3 Moulinet, is not very likely to lose clashes, especially at 45 sanity, and this is the skill that applies the most important Pierce Fragility.
Sadly, while Yi Sang is great for damage setups, he himself does not boast the highest damage numbers and on top of that, his passives still require Gluttony Res but thankfully they give flat numbers instead of having numbers based on skills chained which helps a lot.
