Pets

An essential part of team-building that is widely used across every content except for PVP. They provide valuable team-wide stat increase and an auto-casting active skill based on the frontline pet. Pet Skills that have ATK% based damage scale off the highest ATK character in the team.

Use of pets depend entirely on the team composition and the type of content you are tackling. Generally, any Higher Transcend pets that you have should be used over Lower Transcend.

Recap of Pet System

Parties can have up to 3 pets. Like Characters, they are slotted into the Front, Center and Rear rows.

All 3 pets will provide stats (based on their Transcend level) to the party. Only the pet in the Front Row will appear during battle and use their Active Skill.

These stats are treated as Global buffs and will apply to every character in the Roster.

Survival Check Stages

  • Using Pets with Crowd Control, Shield, or Healing as front is recommended. Pets like Esteria, Tristan, Anessa, Merlin, Dian Cecht, & Galahad are good pets for these stages.
  • Using Pets with Damage Reduction is recommended such asErin, Esteria, Tristan, Bedivere, Merlin, & Joan of Arc.
  • Alternatively, while not as efficient as Damage Reduction, HP Main-stat pets can also be considered, especially on Lancelot Compositions. Keep in mind that your healing might take a hit as a result. Adjust pets as necessary.

DPS Check Stages / Raids

  • Using Pets with good Offensive Skills or Buffs as front is recommended. Pets like Phoenix, Lohengrin, Cristina, Ran, Griffin, Tiamat.
  • Phoenix Pet as front is generally the go-to due to its Crit Rate buff that everyone in the Team can make use of. In Stages where Bosses have High Crit-Resistance, Units with strong attacking actives, such as Tiamat, Cristina or Ran are good options for the front row.
  • Ran / Cristina Pets are also used as Front when you have enough Crit-Rate Buff and Stat in the team (Merlin / Neo Bedivere), or when you have a character that has very High ATK Stat and can make full use of their skills. (i.e. Lua for Shock Debuff for Ran Pet skill)
  • The pets you choose depend on the stats your main DPSes scale off. For Lancelot Comps, HP and Add Damage Pets are valued more than ATK Pets due to Lancelot’s HP scaling. Meanwhile, for Tiamat/Galahad Comps, ATK and Add Damage Pets are highly valued for an increase in both Survival(Healing) and Damage. Keep in mind that there are also other statlines, such as Ignore Damage Reduction that can be very useful on Bosses with High Damage Reduction. Crit Damage is also a valuable statline for a general damage increase that can work both for Lance & Tiamat Comps.

Notable Pets below S Tier

  • Erin: 10% Damage Reduction on T0 makes her very useful and integral part of a lot of Survival-Check compositions.
  • Circe: First Pet that has a negative effect on your team with its Crit Hit Reduction Statline but with an overloaded Additional Damage stat on T5. Can be used on Bosses with High Crit Resistance or generally on T5 for the decreased reduction on Critical Hit.
  • Summer Merry: Best-in-Slot Raid pet for Kraken Raids if you use both Anessa and Summer Merry.
  • Galahad: Only Pet that gives Shield based on your team’s Highest HP Character. A very good front pet to use for Survival Check Stages.
  • NEO Bedivere: While it pales in comparison to Phoenix due to its Hybrid Statline. She still has a good active skill that can be used as a general buff for dps increase.

Common Pet Combinations

Disclaimer: The comps below are prescriptions and must not be strictly adhered to. Everyone’s Roster is different. Even if you have sub optimal pets, if they are high Transcend (T3 and higher), the additional line you get at T3 and T5 will give a much higher performance compared to a low transcend pet.

Standard 3 ATK% Core: Athena/ Bedivere (T3+)/ Phoenix/ Esteria (Front) -

The most recognised S+ trio of pets from game launch, stacking 3 ATK paired with a mix of both offensive and defensive stats (CDMG, Add DMG, DMG Reduction, Healing Received Increase, Ignore DMG Reduction, etc). Both Phoenix and Esteria can be swapped to the Front Row depending on your needs. Incredibly flexible, very hard to put together.

This is the main lynchpin because almost EVERYTHING scales off ATK (with the exception of Erin/ Lancelot) - your DPS, your Healers, even your sub DPS.

  • Core: Phoenix (DPS); Esteria (DMG Reduction, CC)
  • Front Row Replacements: Tristan (DMG Reduction, CC)
  • Backrow Replacements: Any ATK% Pet with DMG Reduction, Add DMG, CDMG, Crit Res, etc
Survival Check: Bedivere/ Tristan/ Erin | Tristan/ Esteria

Same ATK % core but with an emphasis on defensive stats, notably the Damage Reduction stat. While DMG Reduction does cap out at 50%, the main draw for this lineup is being able to survive the initial onslaught until your CC, actives, and ultimates can come off cooldown to take the pressure off you. Some bosses also pack Ignore DMG Reduction, so you might want to overload.

  • Core: Tristan/ Esteria (CC, DMG Reduction)
  • Front Row Replacements: Anessa/Merlin (High Transcend)
  • Backrow Replacements: Elizabeth, Morgana, any HP% pet with good defensive stats (mix and match sparingly)
Raid Core: Athena/Tiamat/Ran | Phoenix/Cristina/Lohengrin

Same ATK % core but with an emphasis on offensive stats, notably the Additional DMG stat. Commonly used Front pets also include those with strong Actives like Tiamat, Lua or Ran. Mainly used to push for high scores, swap out for high DMG Reduction pets if dying.

  • Core: Phoenix
  • Front Row Replacements: Lua/ Ran (for Lua Ran knight comps); Cristina/Tiamat/Lohengrin (for comps with already high crits Rates, or for Burn comps in Cristina’s case)
HP% Core: Isabel/ Joan | Merlin

Only really matters if you are building around Lancelot. Similar principles to the basic ATK% comps - Eva, Joan and Isabel all pack a nice mix of DMG Reduction and Additional DMG. One thing you should note is that your Healers and other ATK scaling units will take a hit to their base damage/ healing and are dependent on the secondary lines to compensate.

  • Front Row Replacements: Esteria/Tristan
  • Backrow Replacements: Guinevere,Eva
HP% DPS Core: Kay/ Lancelot | Griffin

Lancelot isn’t really a raid DPS so this only comes up in DPS checks in adventure mode. Kay, Lancelot and Griffin have largely offensive stats/ offensive pet buffs, though the quality of HP% pets is such that you are quibbling mostly on the 2nd lines.

  • Front Row Replacements: Merlin/Phoenix
  • Backrow Replacements: Eva
