Foreword
This guide assumes you’ve read our Beginner Guide, which explains the various systems you will encounter in the game. Instead, it focuses on providing tips to help you navigate and progress through the game. The Beginner Guide contained some basic tips; this one includes more of them, along with slightly more specific guidance. But they’re still designed to be quick tips you read and just absorb.
General

- Complete daily missions every day for steady Hunter Level EXP and free resources.
- Focus on the Main Story first to unlock systems like Tycoon and better farming areas.
- Don’t worry about doing every activity immediately. City Stamina is generous, so just do what you enjoy alongside progression.
- Prioritize unlocking Tycoon Level early by talking to Chiz, since many systems are locked behind it.
- While you can use Character Pixels (stamina) early on. Farming materials is inefficient until you unlock higher-tier domains, so I would recommend to just keep doing story and doing it as you need leveling/ascension materials.
- Try out different Hethereau Hobbies early. They’re low pressure and give useful side rewards over time. And you probably need to do them for related missions eventually anyways.
- Activate Werithemer Towers as soon as you see them to make traversal much easier.
- Do Anomaly Commissions regularly since they guide exploration and give consistent rewards.
Leveling and Progression

- Your Hunter Level gates everything, so prioritize activities that give account EXP over farming materials early.
- Don’t rush character farming early since you’ll hit Ascension caps anyway.
- Focus resources on the main team first instead of spreading upgrades too thin.
- Keep your main damage dealer at max level, and let other teammates sit slightly lower to save resources.
- Farm EXP materials through EXP & Beetle Coins Domains, but only after unlocking higher tiers for better efficiency.
- Weekly bosses (Anomaly Pilgrimage) are important, so don’t skip them once unlocked.
Arcs/Consoles
- Don’t stress about getting the “best” Arc early. Just use what fits your character’s type.
- Avoid heavy farming for Consoles early on. Wait until you unlock better drop rates.
- Focus on basic stat improvements first, then optimize set bonuses later.
- Don’t upgrade every Module you get. Save resources for better gear later.
- Use Rabbit Hole mainly once you’re ready to properly farm gear, not in the early game.
Combat

- Learn dodge timing early! Critical Dodges can lead to big damage windows.
- Focus on breaking enemies. Once their Break gauge is depleted, that’s your main damage window.
- Parrying is a great way to build Cycle Gauge and create an attack window. You should try to get used to parrying attacks that have the red ring instead of dodging them. You can do this in many ways, including skills, swaps, or basic attacks.
- Esper Cycle is the core combat mechanic, triggered when the Cycle Gauge is filled and correct elemental conditions are met. You want to build your entire team around this mechanic. Everyone in the team should have an interaction with another’s element.
- A key thing to understand is that not all elements should or can be used in the same team setup.
- For example, Anima can really only interact with Incantation or Cosmos, which means you need to be conscious of who can be on the team. In a Discord-focused setup (Chaos + Psyche + Incantation). You have to apply Nova first, then apply Scorch separately (or vice versa). Only after both are active does Discord trigger. Because of that setup time, it is usually more efficient to run characters that naturally support repeating Discord rather than mixing in unrelated Cycle types like Hexed (Anima + Incantation). As Anima can’t interact with Chaos or Psyche. The problem with mixing is uptime. By the time you set up one Cycle effect, swap around, and try to build a different one, the earlier effects may already have expired.
Exploration

- Getting a car early is highly recommended. It lets you travel quickly without relying on teleporting, so you won’t miss discoverables along the way. If you don’t own one yet, Mint can ask NPCs for their cars, which lets you drive them without the risk of gaining a star like you would from stealing.
- Some collectibles/enemies are time- or weather-gated (e.g., night-only spawns), so check districts at different times for 100% completion.
- You might notice some crows around the environment. You should try to go get them! They become oracle stones, which you can then take to Blackbird, who can give you rewards and some buffs. To get some of these stones, you might have to climb tall buildings, if you happen to have Nanally, her no gravity movement is unmatched.
- Participate in Beyond the Rails when unlocked for endgame rewards. But don’t feel pressured to beat it early, you will need two set up teams to complete it.
- Side activities like racing, fishing, and shop management are worth doing for Fons and long-term rewards. You need fons to buy a lot of your cosmetics and houses!
