Psychubes

Comments

“Beyond Wonderland” is the Psychube tailored for Tooth Fairy. It's added at first as an event reward from patch 1.2, and it can help to cover Tooth Fairy's weakness due to its HP stat, as well as amping up her own critical capabilities. However, it pretty much only works for Tooth Fairy and you need to Amplify it in order to get more Critical Rate.

If you don't want to invest on a Psychube that is too specific, use “That Inquisitive Dear”. It's a universal Psychube for healers, and Tooth Fairy constantly spam debuffs, so she can make use of its passive as well.

Review

Review

Tooth Fairy is a 6-star Healer of the Star Afflatus, her kit revolves around critical strikes. Using her Insight 1 and her Empty Gums ability, she is able to inflict various -Crit Res/DEF debuffs that enhance your team's ability to land critical hits and deal more damage with them. This increases your effective Crit Rate by +40% and Crit DMG by 15%! This is especially helpful for Arcanists who need that extra Crit Rate; Lilya and Regulus are the obvious ones, but Melania, Centurion and Jessica also benefit from these effects.

In addition to that, “Lullaby” and Insight 3 help Tooth Fairy output consistent healing, and her Ultimate, “Song for the Bad Tooth”, can cleanse all debuffs from the team if it lands a critical hit. Not many Arcanists have the ability to cleanse debuffs from their team, so Tooth Fairy is decent at removing those pesky -DMG Done and [Weakness] debuffs from your Carry.

She is not without flaws, however. Tooth Fairy hovers very low on the tankiness scale, being about as squishy as Charlie with mediocre defensive stats to boot. Additionally, as enemy Crit Res stats continue to increase come endgame, Tooth Fairy might struggle to make her cleansing consistent. Finally, if her Carry doesn't particularly care about landing critical hits or has a hard time doing so (Charlie), her debuffs lose value overall, as they're entirely tailored to crit-oriented characters.

This culminates in a package that is offensively powerful but will struggle greatly when met with high incoming damage, such as when she is at an Afflatus disadvantage. Nonetheless, Tooth Fairy proves to be a very capable healer and powerful debuffer, a staple when the roster doesn't have many options to pick from in terms of sustain.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Excellent crit debuffs, can drastically increase your team's effective Crit Rate/DMG.

  • Consistent healing in the form of Insight 3 and “Lullaby”, which has an increased base Crit Rate.

  • Cleanse. She is one of the few (good) units with team-wide debuff removal.

  • Stays relevant for a considerable amount of time due to her unique kit and there not being many Healer options.

Cons

  • Extremely squishy. Almost matches Charlie in terms of base HP/DEF stats.

  • Debuffs are entirely centered around crit, so they lose value when being used with a Carry that doesn't want that kind of support.

  • Cleanse may be inconsistent due to increasing enemy Crit Res stats.

Tooth Fairy is a powerful Crit Support and Healer. Using her passives and skills, she is able to inflict a multitude of Crit related debuffs. Her healing skill has increased Crit Rate, meaning that she can output a lot of healing with that + her passives. Though very versatile, her debuffs can be difficult to get mileage out of without a Crit focused Carry to pair her with.
