Mini-review

Baizhi is a 4-star free to play Glacio Rectifier wielder Support that brings a wide array of buffs and healing utilities for her teammates, making her an indispensable member regardless of your team composition. However, her buffs are focused on ST, increasing her utility in solo DPS teams over the rest.

Her Forte Gauge can accumulate up to 4 charges, with every Basic Attack performed recharging 1. Everytime she uses her Resonance Skill or Heavy Attack, she consumes all the accumulated stacks, enhancing the skill to increase healing provided as well as generating far more Concerto Energy than normal. As such, her Forte’s main utility is maximizing her Concerto Energy gains which is the heart of her kit.

Her Resonance Skill calls her companion You’tan back to her, which pulses Glacio damage around herself after a short delay while simultaneously healing all her team. This also generates a good amount of Concerto Energy.

Her Ultimate Skill generates a lot of Concerto Energy while healing her whole team. It also grants the Remnant Entities buff, which launches an attack every 2.5 seconds up to 4 times, dealing Glacio Damage on hit while healing the active party member.

Contrary to other Supporters such as Verina, Baizhi requires more field time in order to utilize her properly, but not enough to cause an issue with team compositions. She brings a plethora of ST specialized buffs, causing significant gains in DPS, along with her solid healing which can turn the tides of battle.

Baizhi has a fairly easy to master playstyle, only requiring a handful of Basic Attacks and her Resonance Skill. However, she can feel sluggish due to her companion performing all her attacks, which causes slight but noticeable delays when calling it back and forth.

In addition to her healing capabilities, Baizhi brings a 15% Generic Damage amplification from her Outro Skill, which affects the next character switching in and lingers even after switching characters - an extremely rare trait among various Outro amplifications present in the game. Furthermore, she grants a 15% ATK boost after using her Resonance Skill, which spawns a bubble on the floor which can be gathered by a single character you wish for to receive this buff. Adding Echo & sets to the mix, she prefers a combination of Bell-Borne Geochelone Echo & 5P Rejuvenating Glow set which allows her to grant a semi-permanent ATK% boost, temporary DMG% boost and protection from a set number of attacks. In the instance another character is using the above set, she can make use of the 5P Moonlit Glow and Impermanence Heron Echo combo instead.

Overall, while many of Baizhi’s buffs are singular in nature she’s still currently one of the best Supports for Tower of Adversary, all thanks to her great bonuses and healing capabilities. While you can find her in top tier teams, she is primarily utilized when superior alternatives such as Verina are already used or missing from the account, the reason she falls behind the mighty Verina is because Baizhi does everything Verina does, but worse and is restricted to Single Target only, making Verina a directly superior choice.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Incredible supportive Outro, granting 15% DMG Amplification which is not lost when switching

  • Can effortlessly enable the 5P Healer set bonus without sacrificing her weapon choice

  • Completely universal - every single team can use Baizhi

  • Has decent team-wide healing

  • Can grant the team a cheat-death after unlocking S5 in the form of a full heal to the character that would have suffered fatal damage

Cons

  • Is in direct competition with the very similar but superior in every way character Verina. Currently there is enough room for both in the endgame meta though

  • Most attacks have a slight delay when used due to her pet performing them

Ratings

This tier list assesses characters based on their combat potential in Wuthering Waves current most demanding content Tower of Adversity (ToA). ToA is a mode similar to Genshin Impact’s Spiral Abyss or Honkai Star Rail’s Memory of Chaos and requires multiple teams, strong Echoes and good Weapons. This mode offers a reasonable mix of Boss encounters (single target), Elite packs (2-3 targets) and AoE scenarios (5+ Targets), allowing multiple characters to find a niche but in the end, there's a bias toward single target focused characters at the top-end.

Please keep in mind Wuthering Waves is a skill-based game and each character has a different playstyle, difficulty level and even special tricks and combos. Wuthering Waves is also a team based game and it's only by combining both these factors to the highest level a character can reach optimal performance.

Best Weapons

1

Stats at Level 90: ATK: 337 | Energy Reg.: 51.8%

A utility-focused weapon prioritizing lightning-fast Concerto rotations over raw output with the ability to transform entire units' action priorities under the right circumstances. Not always a good choice but when implemented correctly makes all the difference. Also offers an immense amount of Energy Regen further accelerating rotations and supportive capabilities.

2

Stats at Level 90: ATK: 300 | Energy Reg.: 32.3%

An easily accessible supportive option with a reasonable amount of Energy Regen. It also grants the unique ability to gain a sizable chunk of raw Resonance Energy once every 20 seconds. For most character's rotations in teams, this bonus will be ready every time it's their turn to switch-in, making this weapon a great choice for any character who doesn't need damage but needs their Ultimate fast and has trouble accessing it otherwise. The flat energy gain is more powerful the less energy the character and team they are a part of can generate.

Best Echo Sets

2 Set: Healing increases by 10%.

5 Set: Upon healing allies, increase ATK of the entire team by 15%, lasting 30s.

Best Main Echoes

Echoes in Wuthering Waves are an essential part of the character rotations, granting a large amount of Resonance Energy and damage but at the cost of high field time for the most powerful ones. But by using some Echoes right before you're about to switch out on the character, you're able to move to your next character while your previous one is still in the echo animation - it’s what we call an Echo Swap Cancel.

Echo Swap Cancel is almost always the optimal way to use Echoes, and will result in big reductions in character field time and large increases to DPS, but not all of the most powerful Echoes can be swap cancelled in this way. For example, the Feilian Beringal (Aero), Dreamless (Havoc), Tempest Mephis (Electro), Mourning Aix (Spectro), and Infernal Rider (Fusion) Echoes can all be Swap Cancelled.

The remaining element, so Glacio while having powerful Echoes has none powerful enough that can be swap cancelled, and to make things worse, no Echoes that generate sufficient Energy and damage for their field time investment.

The result of this is that you can expect Glacio characters to have higher field time and lower DPS in calculations than their other elemental counter parts until they receive better Echoes to use.

Set

Rejuvenating Glow

This Echo is an essential asset that almost every team in the game aims to include thanks to its excellent offensive and defensive benefits. The reason for this is the excellent 10% DMG boost it provides throughout its duration but also 50% damage reduction barrier it provides as well. The only catch these buffs have is that they only last for 3 hits meaning after you've taken them you'll lose the buff until you can re-apply it again - even so almost every team aims to have 1 user of this echo. Almost always the main echo of choice for users of the 5P Rejuvenating Glow set.

Best Endgame Stats (Level 90)

Important! CRIT DMG has base value of 150% and Energy Regen has a base value of 100% when you check them in game. The recommended values below don't include the base value but rather show how much on top of it you need to obtain.

  • HP: 23000+

  • DEF: 1000+

  • Energy Regen: 100-110%+

    • Baizhi does not generate much Resonance Energy of her own but has an ultimate that speeds up her concerto generation and heals the team a moderate amount making it desirable to acquire whenever possible.

    • The result of this is that Baizhi relies on her team generating much of the energy she needs through the 50% team-wide energy share, however, she still needs a tremendous amount of ER even with that to achieve the 175 energy cost of the ultimate.

    • To meet this cost we recommend getting as much energy regeneration as possible on gear, with 100-110% being a comfortable amount to access the ultimate quickly.
