When a battle starts, if there is an ally placed 1 tile behind Gunnar, he summons a Doomfield at that ally's location, increasing their normal attack range by 3 and ATK by 30% + 3%. He and the ally remain steadfast until Gunnar is defeated, or until 3s after the ally leaves the Doomfield. During battle, Gunnar locks onto and prioritizes attacking the enemy targeted by the ally standing on his Doomfield.
Active. Gunnar deals 320% + 30% damage 2 times to all enemies within 2 tiles of the target tile, then launches a Doomsday Meteor that deals 470% + 50% damage to all enemies within range and sets the ground on fire for 15s. Enemies standing in the fire take 80% + 8% damage every second and lose 40 Vitality. When cast automatically, Gunnar prioritizes targeting the enemy area that allows him to hit the most enemies.
Unlocks at level 51: Increases Doomsday Meteor's damage dealt to all enemies within range to 490% + 50%.
Unlocks at level 111: Increases Doomsday Meteor's damage dealt to all enemies within range to 510% + 50%.

Gunnar fires his cannons 6 times, each time dealing 65% + 8% damage to all enemies adjacent to his locked-on target. If there is a Doomfield active, the ally within the Doomfield will also launch 6 coordinated attacks, dealing damage to the locked-on target equal to 6% + 0.5% their max HP and stunning them for 0.5s. This damage cannot exceed Gunnar's 100%.
Unlocks at level 71: Each cannon strike deals 70% + 8% damage to all enemies adjacent to Gunnar's locked-on target.
Unlocks at level 131: Each cannon strike deals 75% + 8% damage to all enemies adjacent to Gunnar's locked-on target.

Gunnar lets out a roar, granting himself a shield that absorbs 450% + 60% damage. He also grants a shield that absorbs 400% + 40% damage for 8s to every ally behind him. If there is a Doomfield active, the Doomfield gets strengthened, increasing the ATK SPD of the ally within it by 50 + 5 for 8s.
Unlocks at level 91: Increases the shield value of the shield Gunnar grants to himself to 500% + 60%.

Whenever the ally within Gunnar's Doomfield deals total damage equal to 1400% of Gunnar's initial ATK, Gunnar automatically launches a missile at his locked-on target, dealing 600% damage and recovering HP equal to 100% of the damage dealt.
Unlocks at Ex. Weapon +5: Increases the missile damage to 700%.
Unlocks at Ex. Weapon +10: Increases the missile damage to 800%.
Unlocks at Ex. Weapon +15: If Gunnar's HP ratio is above 35%, the ally within his Doomfield becomes invincible and gains an extra 50% ATK.
Enhance Force

If an area set on fire is struck again by Doomsday Meteor, the area becomes permanently scorched. The fire no longer expires, and enemies within the scorched area cannot heal or gain shields.

Review
Gunnar is an S-Rank Tank who strongly supports his backline by providing shields and linking with a carry to focus down a single target, while suppressing enemy healing and shielding.
Starting from his Ultimate, Annihilation Directive, it has two effects, Passive and Active. With the Passive effect, Gunnar will create a Doomfield to the ally's location behind him at the start of battle, increasing the ally's attack range and ATK. Then, while this ally remains in the Doomfield, Gunnar links to them, becomes steadfast and prioritizes the target the ally is locked on. With its Active effect, it will launch a Doomsday meteor that damages all enemies and ignites the area, dealing DoT and decreases Vitality for the enemies standing on it.
At Mythic+, when the ally inside Gunnar's Doomfield accumulates a set amount of total damage, Gunnar automatically fires a missile at the locked-on target, dealing heavy damage and healing himself for the same amount dealt. At EX+ 15, the ally on Doomfield gains ATK and becomes invincible while Gunnar's HP is above 35%. At Supreme+, if an already burning area is hit again by Doomsday Meteor, it becomes permanently scorched. The flames no longer expire, and enemies inside cannot heal or gain shields.
Bombing Engine fires Gunnar's cannons six times, damaging enemies adjacent to him and his ally are locked-on. If a Doomfield is active, the ally within it performs six coordinated strikes on the locked-on target, dealing damage based on their max HP and briefly stunning them. As for Absolute Defense, Gunnar gains a powerful shield and grants shields to all allies positioned behind him for a short duration. If a Doomfield is active, it is enhanced, increasing the ATK SPD of the ally within it for some seconds.
Story and AFK Stages - Decent hero in this mode, as hypercarries are commonly being used here, even though other strategies remain dominant.
Dream Realm - This is where Gunnar truly shines, as his lock-on mechanic is most effective against a singular enemy, while also granting a hypercarry a massive ATK boost.
PvP - Tanky enough to survive, especially with Alna, while supporting hypercarries with ATK up, ATK SPD up and Invincible when his HP is above 35%. His Supreme+ passive that denies healing and shielding sounds powerful on paper, but it requires casting two Ultimates, which takes a considerable amount of time to activate.
Legendary+ increases Gunnar's Ranged DEF and Vitality, moreso for each ally standing behind him.
Mythic+ after an ally dealt enough damage to an ally in Doomfield makes Gunnar fire at his target and heal for the damage dealt.
EX+15 the ally on Doomfield gains ATK and becomes invincible while Gunnar's HP is above 35%
Supreme+ makes launching a Doomsday Meteor on an already burning area permanently scorch it, preventing flames from expiring and stopping enemies inside from healing or shielding.
Gunnar is a strong addition for the supportive frontline archetype that is useful in pretty much every gamemode. If you want to invest in Gunnar, you can start with 1 copy, but for maximum utility, you want him at Supreme EX+ 15 for the additional ATK and invulnerability for the ally on the Doomfield.
