Overview

Seasons in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance affect the overworld, change endgame dungeons, introduce new power systems, have their own battle pass, exclusive cosmetics and offer tremendous rewards. There have been some new systems introduced with the addition of Season 2. Here are the major systems to be aware of in this season. We’ll cover them in more detail below:

  • Dream Level & Illusion Strength
  • Factors & Psychoscopes
  • Imagine Bond
  • Drifting Cocoons
  • Activity Merits & The Season Pass
  • Season Titles & Achievements
  • Master Mode Changes
  • Season Store

Dream level & Illusion Strength

The season 2 mechanic revolves around 2 customizable skill trees dictated by a shared dream-level, ranging from 1-90. For each dream level, you gain Illusion Strength and Endurance. This system moves you past the level 60 cap stat-wise, while still technically staying at level 60.

E.g a level 60 character with a level 30 dream level, will be level 60(+30) instead of being level 90, meaning the “level cap” for season 2 is level 60(+90) or level 150.

  • “Dreambloom Season EXP” aka “Dream XP” (looks like a red coin) increases your dream-level
  • “Season pass EXP” (looks like a yellow coin) increases the season pass level

Illusion Strength is a new season 2 stat that is gained through increasing your Dream Level and Imagine Bond level. This stat dictates multiple things like:

  • Rate of increasing Hallucination level in cocoons.
  • Damage dealt and received.
  • Healing output (only applies in dungeons and around Elites and World Bosses).

Every season 2 enemy has Illusion Strength and for every 100 points you have more than an enemy, you will do

  • 5% more damage (capped at 20%).
  • 2% more healing (capped at 8% and only active during Dungeons, Elites and World Bosses).

If your Illusion Strength is below an enemy's, they will deal way more damage to you and you will deal way less. All season 1 open world enemies now take 100% more damage, as a result of having no Illusion Strength. Yes, this includes all elites, world bosses, and even the dragon raids. The Illusion Strength of a Season 2 enemy can be viewed in the monster hunt log and dungeon info.

Factors and Psychoscopes

Promo Image

“Deep-Slumber Psychoscope”, commonly referred to as “Pink Tree” is active through all forms of content and allows you to choose from 1 of its 8 available skill trees, which you can switch between at any time without losing progress. Each skill tree revolves around a different mechanic; some are versatile and can be used by multiple classes in multiple different scenarios, although most of them are catered to specific playstyles.

Promo Image

The second skill tree, named “Slumbering Dream Psychoscope” commonly referred to as “Red Tree”, has 4 available skill trees to choose from and is only active while playing the new “Valley of Slumbering Dreams” permanent gamemode. The 4 skill trees each offer a different build-defining buff or modifier, with the rest of the tree focusing on “entries” (the game-mode's form of powerups) by making certain entries appear more often and manipulating the RNG around higher rarities. This tree is not active anywhere outside of the Slumbering Dream Psychoscope” gamemode

To be able to progress through any selected tree, you must increase your Dream Level and spend “Remnant of dreams” to unlock minor nodes. Factor nodes do not require Remnants to unlock, but still have a Dream Level requirement.

Each skill tree will additionally have “Phantom Factors” (Factors for short) placed throughout them, requiring you to be a certain Dream Level to unlock them and progress further down your chosen skill tree. The levels for each Phantom Factor are: 5-10-15-25-30–35-45-50

Factors come in 4 different types, with the amount of times they appear also listed.

  • General ATK - 3 nodes (2 mandatory, 1 optional)
  • General DEF - 3 nodes (2 mandatory, 1 optional)
  • Class Exclusive - 3 nodes (2 mandatory, 1 optional)
  • Class DEF - 1 node (optional)
Note

The skill tree “Shattered Illusion” has a different layout but the same node count.

Tip

You cannot slot the same Factor twice on the same Skill Tree.

Imagine Bond

Promo Image

With each Skill tree, you will have 5 Imagine slots. Slotting an Imagine doesn't remove it from combat. Based on the rarity and advancement of the Imagine, it will gain “Bond points”. Gold and Human Imagines give 7 bond points at A0 and Purple Imagines give 3 bond points at A0. For each level of advancement, an Imagine gains 1 bond point.

Bond point breakpoints are 2-5-12-20-25-35. Bond effects 1-5 are the same for each skill tree, but Bond effect 6 is uniquely tailored to a skill tree's mechanic.

Drifting Cocoons

Drifting Cocoons are stationary landmarks scattered around all of the Season 2 maps. Defeating Dream Monsters rewards Dream XP, Season Pass XP and sometimes, random Phantom Factors.

Each cocoon has its own level dictating the strength of the enemies inside of it, these levels range from 25-100. Upon entering a cocoon you will be put into a separate alternate reality identical to the open world. Within this alternate reality, hoards of Dream Monsters will continuously spawn until you leave the cocoon, you can leave the cocoon at any time by interacting with it again. Dream Monsters do not automatically aggro unless you attack them.

Surrounding Dream Monsters will not aggro even if you are already being attacked by a different monster.

While inside of a cocoon, you will have a “Hallucination value” that gradually goes up over time. The speed at which this value increases is dependent on your Illusion Strength e.g if you enter a high level cocoon with a low Illusion Strength . Your hallucination value will increase very very rapidly. Upon reaching 100% hallucination value you are forcibly kicked from your current cocoon and your character is struck with a distorted visual effect and will not be able to enter another cocoon until your hallucination value naturally lowers.

Activity Merits & The Season Pass

The Season Pass and Activity Merits are both activities every player can participate in immediately and should fully complete whenever available.

Season Pass

Every Season has multiple Season Passes, which are BP: SR’s version of a Battle Pass that provides a variety of rewards to players for earning Season EXP, which can be accumulated for free by completing Activity Merits. Each season pass lasts around 6 weeks and comes in three tiers.

  • Basic (Free): Grants moderate rewards that differ from Pass to Pass. Most rewards are items related to character progression, consumables, or character customization.

Season Title

If you’re more of an Achievement Hunter, Seasons has that covered as well. Each Season has a long list of season-exclusive achievements, titles to claim as well, a holographic arm band that levels up based on your progress, and an exclusive armor skin as well.

Note: The Armband can be hidden if desired, which will also hide the icon next to your character’s name.

The ultimate goal for achievement hunters is to raise their Seasonal rank to maximum (Eclipse Bounty Ace), earning bragging rights and some solid rewards in addition to their cosmetics along the way. Doing so will require 15 Superior Achievement Trophies and 300 Common Achievement Trophies, which can be earned by completing achievements.

Outside of Cosmetics, players can expect a bounty of

Bound Rose Orbs

, Star Chests, and more.

Note

The items displayed on the Achievement reward track are just the top item of that level, not all the rewards you’ll get.

Master Modes

For those with an interest in challenging and pushing the limits of PVE, Seasons feature Master Mode Seasonal Mechanics and the Master Seal. Master Modes are likely not unique to the Void Corruption Frenzy Season but are altered by it. Here are the things to be on the lookout for dungeoneer enthusiasts:

  • Master Mode Dungeons are infected by a Void Seed, converting enemies into Void versions, empowering them, but also making them vulnerable to your Emblem's abilities
  • The Bane Lord may invade your dungeon runs in any difficulty spawning as an impromptu boss fight that awards a gear selector at the end of the run up to 5 times per week.
  • Weekly Rotating Hazards that offer increased difficulty in Master Modes.
  • Seasonal Dungeon Exclusive Weapon and Gear skin rare drops from all difficulties.
  • The Master Seal, a tracker of your highest completed Master Mode of each dungeon. Offers rewards and bragging rights.

Season Store

Most Season activities will earn you Season Points you can spend in the Season Pass Shop, which contains a wide array of high-value progression materials that reset weekly alongside some cosmetics and consumables as well. Most high rarity progression materials in the Season Pass shop are worth purchasing, but if your Season Pass Points are running low, consider prioritizing Emblem Upgrade Materials first, then high rarity Imagine Crafting Materials next.
