Skills

Nevette skills currently show the 'maxed' description by default (so it includes the level up effects already). We will update the descriptions to be in-line with level 1 as soon as possible!

Skill 1

Soul Purifying

Cooldown: -

Tags: Single DMG, Petrify

Purging all, suffering fades. Novette grips her ceremonial sword and deals 2 hit(s) of 150% damage to a single enemy, with a 15% chance each to inflict [Petrify] for 1 turn(s).

Soulshroud: Novette cannot CRIT. When dealing damage, for every 1% Effect ACC she has, increases damage against Affinity-disadvantaged bosses by 0.75% and ignores 0.25% of the target's DEF. If the target is under crowd control or is an Affinity-disadvantaged boss, ignores 0.45% of their DEF instead (this Passive's Effect ACC bonus is capped at 200%. Shell does not trigger this Passive).

Level 2: Increases damage multiplier to 140%

Level 3: Increases the chance of inflicting [Petrify] to 15%

Level 4: Increases damage multiplier to 150%

Level 5: Increases DEF ignore ratio to 0.25% and 0.45%

[Petrify]: Target cannot take action, and the CD will not automatically reset at the end of the unit's turn.

Skill 2

Samsara

Cooldown: 3

Tags: Buff Steal, Single DMG

Old karma of Samsara settled. I shall see you off. Novette deals 3 hit(s) of 160% damage to a single enemy, each hit with a 65% chance to steal 1 buff(s); when the target has no buffs to steal, increases damage dealt by an additional 60%.

Level 2: Increases damage multiplier to 150%

Level 3: Increases the chance of Buff Steal to 65%

Level 4: Increases damage multiplier to 160%

Level 5: Increases damage boost to 60%

Skill 3

Frostcrow

Cooldown: 4

Tags: CC, AoE, Block, Petrify

The suffering of this body has been redeemed. Novette deals 3 hit(s) of 160% damage to all enemies, each hit with a 50% chance to inflict a 2-turn [Block], and a 25% chance to inflict a 1-turn [Petrify].

Level 2: Increases damage multiplier to 160%

Level 3: Increases the duration of [Block] to 2 turn(s)

Level 4: Increases the chance of inflicting [Petrify] to 25%

Level 5: Reduces Skill CD by 1 turn(s)

[Block]: Target cannot gain buffs.

[Petrify]: Target cannot take action, and the CD will not automatically reset at the end of the unit's turn.

Review

Nevette is a Hollow Affinity Debuffer/DPS hybrid, whose gimmick revolves around trading off Crit stats in order to profit off her Effect ACC, both to apply her Debuffs and to amp her damage output.

Skill 1

Nevette’s Skill 1 has both an active and a passive effect, and her damage is entirely reliant on the passive aspect of the skill, but more on that a bit later.

The active part is a simple but fairly powerful 2-hit ST attack, dealing 150% of attack as damage, and with each hit having up to a 15% chance to inflict [Petrify].

The passive, Soulshroud, fully prevents Nevette from performing critical hits; however, the trade-off is more than worth it. In exchange, for each 1% of Eff ACC that she has at the time of attacking, with the cap reached at 200% ACC, her damage against Odd Affinity Bosses increases by up to 0.75% per stack, to a maximum of 150%! On top of that, she passively ignores part of her target(s)’ DEF, at a rate of 0.25% per 1% ACC, or 0.45% per ACC if the target is either an Odd Affinity Boss or they are Crowd-Controlled (this includes but is not limited to Petrify, Freeze, Stun, Slumber, etc.). This gives her very easy access to 50% DEF ignore, all the way up to 90% ignore if the conditions are met.

It’s good to keep in mind that Shells do not benefit from her passive in any way, so damage-dealing Shells lose out on a lot of potential DPS.

With the huge downside of not critting, Nevette strongly relies on her passive DEF ignore and DMG increase to deal decent damage, and even then, the impact is mostly felt in PVE and not PVP. If you do not use Nevette as a Damage Dealer, this Skill is not a priority to level up.

Skill 2

Samsara, Nevette’s S2, is another ST attack, this time hitting the target 3 times for up to 160% Damage with up to 60% chance of Stealing a Buff from them with each hit.

As a bonus, every hit that lands on a Buff-less target deals an extra 60% damage.

Depending on the way you plan to use Nevette, the Skill either requires a high investment or fairly little. As a Buff Stealing tool, lvl3 is more than enough; however, if you plan to use Nevette as a dedicated Damage dealer against unbuffed enemies, then lvl5 can make quite a difference.

In any case, the Skill has a relatively low priority.

Skill 3

Nevette’s S3 is her AoE and also her main Control tool, inflicting damage to the enemy team over 3 hits of up to 160% damage per hit, with each instance of damage having a 50% and 25% chance to apply [Block] for 2 turns and [Petrify] for 1 turn, respectively.

Leveling this Skill is a no-brainer if you plan to use Nevette as a Control Animus, as levels 3 and 4 both improve the Debuffing aspects of the ability, while level 5 brings its CD down to 4 turns, giving you a much better uptime on those CCs. The priority is high, but not as high as S1, since Nevette naturally builds Eff ACC, which improves the odds of landing both Debuffs.

PVE

In PVE, Nevette takes on the role of a Debuffer specialized in CCs with some extra Dispel from her S2 and decent personal damage for a Debuffer. Speaking of her damage output, while it’s decent enough as a sub-DPS when facing Odd Affinity enemies, it simply doesn’t pack much of a punch anywhere else, making it quite difficult to exploit the hybrid nature of her kit in PVE.

Even when it comes to Controls, Nevette struggles to set herself apart from the other well-established specialists, such as Nahor, Kazuyo, or Mio, to name a few.

PVP

In PVP, Nevette can more easily realize her DPS potential; however, the output remains lower than any dedicated DPS, and she acts more like an actual sub-DPS who specializes in dealing with controlled units.

Still, having access to Block, Petrify, and abundant Buff Stealing gives her the tools to perform decently in her niche, even though she’ll require more careful drafting than her direct competitors.

Her biggest flaw is her inability to bypass immunity by herself, unless she spends a turn to S2 a single target before going with S3, which makes her more reliant on her teammates. With that in mind, it’s not hard to imagine her as a second threat in a CC heavy team comp, although it remains debatable if she’s the best option even in that scenario.

Conclusion

In general, Nevette is an interesting take on a Debuff/DPS hybrid who fails to excel at either role, landing somewhere in the middle. That makes her an okay option in many scenarios, but also means that she’s rarely the best option in any given situation.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Easy to gear thanks to her passive.

  • AoE Petrify and Block are powerful.

  • Decent Damage for a Control Animus.

Cons

  • Doesn’t stand out in any of her roles.

  • Needs help to deal with Immunity.

Best Build

The builds below are tailored more toward PVE and we only mention PVP in some places - like for alternative Shells or Module choices. But PVE is our focus.

Best Shells

1

Before the owner acts, unleashes the owner Animus' full potential making their next skill cost no CD and increasing their SPD by an additional 10% for 2 turn(s). In PvP modes, after being affected by Codex of Magic, skills that did not go on cooldown will have their maximum cooldown permanently increased by 1 turn. (a single skill can only be affected once by this increase).

The cooldown of the skill can't be reduced.

An absurdly strong combo Shell that allows the wearer to skip the cooldown of the ability used on the turn this Shell is active. The wearer can use their ultimate or skill twice back to back, unlocking usually impossible personal and team combos. Also grants the wearer a 10% SPD boost after use for 2 turns. Mainly used in PvE burst/combo compositions or PVP. Can be used on both Supports and DPS situationally.

The go to option for Nevette in most PVE scenarios. Loses some efficiency and power in longer drawn out fights.

2

After the main body's turn, a Follow-up Attack on the main target dealing 240%+4200 damage, applies [SPD+] for 3 turns to the main Animus, applies and increases their Turn Meter by 25%.

Widely used and incredibly potent all-around supportive option, granting a 25% gauge boost on use as well as [SPD+] boost with 100% uptime. It also deals decent damage when used. Possesses most of the best supportive matrixes, further adding to its flexibility and wide use cases. Loses most of its value when used in teams that already have a team member granting the [SPD+] buff with good uptime.

An alternative to Codex of Magic for extended fights where Nevette is expected to loop through multiple S3, making the [SPD+] and gauge boost more valuable.

3

After the original takes action, has a 100% chance to reduce the CD of 1 random skills on cooldown by 1 turn(s).

Allows you to reduce cooldown of a random ability, improving the cycling abilities of the character.

Another alternative for longer fights.

Due to how long Nevette's base cooldowns are, Codex is the best choice for her for PVP.

Stat comments (PVE)

Nevette has two main stats and one conditional stats to pay attention to across gear for PVE:

  • Main Stats:
    • Effect ACC: Nevette's most important stat, so she can land her debuffs. Aim to get to 200% Effect ACC.
    • SPD: After Effect ACC, focus on Speed, so she's acting before enemies and applying her debuffs.
  • Conditional Stats:
    • ATK%: After sufficient SPD and Efffect ACC have been achieved, next invest into ATK, improving her damage output and allowing her to act as a Sub-DPS.
Stat comments (PVP)
  • Main Stats:
    • SPD: As usual for PVP, Speed is king. Focus on that stat first, so she's acting before enemies and applying her debuffs.
    • Effect ACC: In PVP, you should aim to hit 170% Effect ACC - this gives you the best balance and allows you to focus on Speed more.
    • ATK%: After sufficient SPD and Effect ACC have been achieved, next invest into ATK, improving her damage output.
Shell Passives

Slot 2

Slot 3
Hollow DMG% > DMG%
Passive comments
  • Slot 1: Best choice for this slot - only use flat ATK if you can't afford to roll ATK%.
  • Slot 2: Speed is king in this slot.
  • Slot 3: Hollow DMG% is optimal, but if you're lacking in materials generic DMG% can also be used.
Skill Priority
Skill Priority
PVE: S1 > S3 > S2 | PVP: S3 > S1 > S2
Comments

For PVE, you don't really need skill ups to work well. For PVP though, S3 is very important as it improves the chance for her to land her debuffs and also gives her Speed - you can stop at Level 4 though. S1 further improves her damage as that's where her passive ATK nodes can be found.
