Nia focuses on supporting her party through her debuffs and crowd control effects. Her passive 1 applies marks that detonate to deal damage and uniquely applies a debuff that lowers the enemy’s Damage Reduction. Her Active skill deals AOE damage and inflicts Stun. Her ultimate deals AOE damage to all enemies, applying Stun and a Damage Taken increase debuff. Her passive 2 buffs the party’s Critical Damage while increasing her own Critical Hit Rate.
Nia’s kit follows a similar vein to Lumi, Estheria and Belsey - Crowd Control, Damage Taken debuff, beneficial party skill. However, players who roll for her hoping to make a 1-to-1 substitution for any of them will need to adopt a different rotation - the differences lie in the small details (differences in skill cooldown, animation times, etc). The Damage Reduction shred on her Passive 1 functions similarly to an Ignore Damage Reduction party buff - it does not cause it to go negative.
Nia’s main utility leans towards Raid utility, although there are currently no raids that allow her to exercise the full utility of her kit. Due to her middle position and class, Nia could play a role in PvE situations as a support (similar to Estheria), but she also needs to be babied with shields and heals. Nia’s active animation, while fairly lengthy, has very little wind-up time and is found to be one of the fastest stuns in PvP situations with Morgan Le Fay’s passive involved.
Nia joins a pretty crowded role which already has 2 prominent heavy hitters. While she has enabled high scores in several raids so far, Nia is not a must-roll if you already have a well-invested Lumi and Estheria, or if you are mainly focused on PvE content. She is still worth considering if you are actively looking to chase high scores in raid content.
Nia’s Card, Crusade of Ecstasy, provides a party Ignore Damage Reduction (IDR) buff, which may be useful for hitting breakpoints for some raids/ boss scenarios, but falls behind many of the other party card options since IDR has limited utility outside of bosses with DMG Reduction gimmicks.
Good utility combination of CC, DMG amp and party CDMG buff.
Fast wind-up time on active skill.
Very sensitive plot.
DMG Reduction debuff has almost zero application in current raid situations.
