Cartridges

Cartridges are the main gear that players can equip on their characters in Neverness to Everness, akin to Relics or Artifacts from Hoyoverse games. However, in this system, players can see all the stats up front, and you can (in some cases) roll the same substat as your main stat. Any character can equip any cartridge, but for now, there isn’t much variety in mixing them up. It is pretty straightforward that the elemental damage ones go on their respective Damage Dealers, and that the support ones go on Buff or Survival characters.
Cartridges can be obtained from a variety of methods, but the main method that you will likely be grinding out is from the Rabbit Hole Anomaly Zone that drops Cartridges and Cartridge/Module EXP.
In addition to Cartridges coming with main and substats, they also gain a set bonus when you equip certain modules into them. This brings us to…
Modules
Modules are gear pieces that can be equipped in a character’s Console. When obtained, you can see all 4 of the stats on them, and they unlock every 5 levels (5, 10, 15, 20). This game is generous, and there is no variability in the substat values, but getting the desired substats may take a few attempts. Modules also come in a few different types. Type II, III, and IV indicated by how many blocks the module takes up.
Since most Cartridge sets require 4 specific modules, and characters have a preference for a specific module type, determining the optimal gear for a character is pretty straightforward.
Modules are obtained through the Rewind feature, where you use specific tokens to obtain them. One of the best ways to obtain Rewind tokens is through the Rabbit Hole Anomaly Zone. Players can also obtain the coins necessary to use Rewind by opening chests and completing quests.
Consoles

Consoles are the tetris-like game boards that players can equip modules into. Each console has a specific effect and layout depending on the character. All characters gain additional stats by equipping a specific Module type. For example, Nanally gains additional Crit Rate when equipped with Type II modules.
