Sora
Can you give a brief summary about this unit?
Sora is a filler character that can resupply the team's HP and boost their attack power, albeit not impressively nor constantly unless given certain conditions. Sora's weakness lies in her unmusical kit, seemingly an output by a random kit generator which screams mediocrity. She has skills that increase her own HP potency, which is useless in 99% of game modes (except PvP but very arguable); a team Storage skill that depends on part destruction (which is clunky at its finest and a hyper niche), but at least it comes with a modest ATK buff when those parts are broken; but is overshadowed by a 40s Burst Skill that heals and dispels debuff (this one is the least impressive probably).
Analyzing her kit, we theorize that Sora's usage will be similar to Maxwell's and Crust's, in that she will be used in the off-burst to provide the team with an offensive buff and an occasional supporting effect. This, however, results in team-building inflexibility as you are forced to run a 2-1-2 — no compromise there. This makes her weak, alongside the trifling S1 effect. However, the dispel can still come useful against bosses or certain enemies in PvP (such as Blanc), but strictly for PvE, we believe Crust, who is a more reliable cleanser, has greater versatility. Note that Crust cannot be used in PvP.
In terms of usage, we don't really see Sora being used anywhere, since she is not meta or does not excel in any niche. The only sensible argument is that she is technically the only cleanser with true healing (Ade doesn't heal, btw). However, we haven't really encountered a situation where we can't just work around it (e.g. like using Helm). Unfortunately, this means, if you like her, you will only be pulling for collection or eye candy.
PvP is another question, but it's not good news, either. Sora isn't really better than the current B1 options we have. Firstly, she's not a clip RL. Secondly, she is a Supporter, which means her defense stat is not that high, and her being Wind doesn't help. All these, in addition to her lack of innate Damage Reduction/Max HP, makes her too squishy for P1 tanking. Her HP potency will only be useful if she receives healing, and sure, her Burst does heal, but what makes her better than, let's say, Noise and Rapunzel, who have superb additional effects? Not to mention, there are no parts in PvP, so RIP S2!
In conclusion, Sora is just a filler unit, made to satisfy the lust of people who like her design. She's not made to penetrate the meta in any way.
Should I get this unit?
No Skip her at all costs, unless she is waifu enough for you. Normally, we still recommend pulling situational units for tryhard UR and SR players, but this time we fully encourage skipping. We just don't see any potential in her, so save your gems and resist any temptation to spend. NieR is returning too. While they don't have the most broken units, getting them just for the sake of collection is still better than getting Sora.
Do you want dupes? Well, she does grant the team ATK buff based on her base ATK stat, but no, please no. In fact, we shall cleanse you for having thought of such an unholy idea in the first place.
Gold mileage worthy? Again, no, and we should not be reminding you of this anymore. We've said no four times in this section, and now we've said it five times. She's not worth mileage at all, not even as a wishlist character!
Kit Analysis
Sora is a regular RL user, not a clip RL, so her Burst Gen is not that high. She also has a reload time of 2.0s, which is very long. This makes her a bit clunky to use, and her gameplay feel should be similar to Maiden: Ice Rose.
Skill 1 - Just One Effect. In 2025. That's Barely Beneficial.
■ Activates when entering battle. Affects self.
Potency of HP granted ▲ 35.2% continuously.
Sora gains increased HP potency immediately upon entering battle, receiving increased recovery from all sources of healing. However, the value is just ~35%, very light and inconsequential. Not only that, usually the amount of healing we get from healers in PvE right now is already enough, and an extra 35% for herself won't help. It's either you need healing or you don't; nothing in between. If anything, it should have been HP potency for the whole team, not just herself. What's the use of her surviving but the team dying anyway?
Moreover, in PvP, as this is a one-time effect that triggers at the start of battle and cannot be triggered again, it can easily be dispelled and countered by Rosanna (assuming she is one of the two units that have the highest ATK). This makes the skill even less impactful. The only way it can be of use is when you try to tank with her and somehow inject a lot of healing (such as w/ Rapunzel). Still, why just don't use alternative units and compositions?
Skill 2 - A One Liner Again in 2025
■ Activates when an ally or self destroys an enemy's part. Affects all allies.
Storage: Stores excess healing received by the caster, up to 5.36% of their max HP. Stacks up to 5 time(s) for 15 sec.
ATK ▲ 23.74% of the caster's ATK for 15 sec.
Sora grants the team the buff Storage and increased ATK power for 15 seconds whenever a part is destroyed. The Storage buff can stack up to 5 times.
What is Storage?
Storage is a buff that grants a unit increased Max HP in the form of HP padding. This means it doesn't "literally" affect their Max HP number, but it's there as an "extra HP bar". This extra HP bar stores excess HP, so when damage is taken, this bar will eat the damage first until it depletes before actual HP is consumed. You can treat it as a shield if you want, but shields can block attacks that are stronger than them (won't eat actual HP). Note that Storage doesn't affect Max HP-dependent skills like healing, conversion (2B/Cinderella), and "gain X if Max HP at 100%".
Having explained that, let's discuss this skill's three major problems:
- Not all enemies have parts, and even if they do, they may not have adequate uptime. Good luck finding a boss that suits her — not like you planned to use her for mobbing, right? Right?
- The offensive buff scales off caster's ATK, but building her is not worthwhile at all. You should not be wasting your gear sets, rocks, credits, and even skill mats improving her from very weak to weak, especially in the current economy.
- Storage doesn't heal, and it only stores excess recovery, which means there must be subsequent healing to utilize it. This is different from Marciana, who actually heals thanks to her S2 effect, making it as if her Storage were the one healing. Sora does have a healing ability — her Burst — but is using it worthwhile? You will probably end up using it only during emergencies.
We will leave the application of this skill analysis to you, but to summarize, we just treat it as an off-burst buffing skill. It can be activated without having to use Burst Skill, so as long as enemy parts are there and are destroyed regularly, Sora can continually empower the team and boost their survivability. It's just that her values are too low for her to compete with alternatives like Crust (who is not reliant on parts), Maxwell (who is also not reliant on parts), Privaty, Mast: Romantic Maid, etc, assuming all of them are equally built.
The Storage part is rather useless. We don't see the point of it. If you want to use Sora, in most fights, you will want to avoid using her Burst Skill because it doesn't buff the team offensively. This renders her Storage useless, unless someone else is healing/filling it. Sure, there might be edge cases for when you want to use her Burst Skill, but for every problem she solves, there are other, more efficient and economic, solutions to it.
Burst Skill - One-Liners Again. Congrats, She Only Has Three Lines of Skills.
■ Affects all allies.
Recovers 52.27% of the caster's final max HP as HP.
Dispels 1 debuff(s).
Upon using Burst Skill, Sora immediately heals the team a large amount and dispels 1 debuff.
The dispel prioritizes the most first debuff applied, which makes it predictable and viable for targeting certain hostile debuffs in PvP (by controlling FB speed). However, this also makes it less flexible as she cannot dispel newer debuffs randomly by chance. Note that some debuffs cannot be dispelled.
What makes this skill good, though, is most likely the healing, which is a lot. In PvE, this has limited usage because a separate B1 healer (that works by giving an emergency healing on Burst) is usually not needed nowadays, and even if you do need healing, there are options such as Anchor: Innocent Maid and Helm (Treasure). In PvP, Sora can be a decent option, but she's not better than her rivals, such as Noise and Rapunzel, who provide remarkable extra effects.
The problem with Sora's healing is that it isn't Max HP, so it doesn't really block instant wipes, like Noise can. It's also not like Rapunzel's who can revive and effectively counter certain Rosanna teams. That makes Sora closest in power and playstyle to Pascal (NieR freebie unit).
On another note, Sora's Burst Skill has a CD of 40s, making it unideal for PvE usage due to imposing a 2-1-2 formation. While that is not inherently a problem, Sora's lack of impact exacerbates it. Nevertheless, this shouldn't be a problem in PvP, since fights normally don't last a long time and survivability is as important as offensive power.
However, pay attention to unit positioning. Note that Sora is almost, if not entirely, useless if she is not Bursting, unlike other healers. This is because her HP potency is barely advantageous and S2 is inactive. We don’t really recommend using her anyways, but if you do want to give her a key role, then try to make the most of her kit.
Usage Analysis and Tier List
Campaign (LD) - D | Campaign (HD) - D
Mobs usually don't have parts. Some do in late Campaign, but they are rare and not as big of a threat. When there are mobs with parts, Sora can buff the team's ATK, so she is not that bad, but when there aren't, she is just Emma V2. We placed Emma in D tier, so there Sora goes.
Bossing - C
She is not the worst option for Bossing, but she surely isn’t one of the better options. She is quite literally mid, as she still provides some ATK buffs if the boss has regular destructible parts, e.g. Kraken. She can also heal the team when needed (please treat her Burst as emergency healing instead of alternate Burst; do not mind if the Storage is empty).
One probably strong point of Sora is that she can prepare for a powerful boss attack far beforehand. You see, as long as parts continue being destroyed, her Storage won't disappear. So, if you trigger Storage then fill it up with Burst (or other sources of healing), you can make use of the HP padding even 1 minute into the future. We don't see this technique being useful anywhere, though. Maybe against Black Snake?
Sora can also cleanse. Against bosses that apply debilitating debuffs once at the start of the battle, Sora can be a strong pick. Why not bosses that apply debuffs frequently? Well, because ideally you want to avoid using Sora's Burst Skill, which doesn't give ATK power (unless you need the healing every 26-30 seconds somehow). It's almost always better to use your other B1's Burst Skill, which hopefully is a strong DMG buffer like Liter/Siren/Rapipi or even Miranda (with a B2 CDR).
That said, Sora as a sole cleanser is overshadowed by the likes of Crust, which can cleanse more often and whose cleanses are always available on demand. Crust also provides a very strong offensive effect as both in-burst and off-burst B2 without relying on parts. Sora's only lead over her is that she has emergency healing, but surely there are other ways to tackle this problem.
All these make Sora more of a niche character with no real use. She can be used in UR, but there are better options. If you are pulling her, you are not pulling her for meta, but for her meaty thighs.
PVP - C
C-tier because she is similar to Pascal in many ways, perhaps worst in most cases because she has lower burst generation than Pascal. She simply doesn't reach the bar for B tier — Sora's weakness is her "empty" kit and the innate unreliability of instant non-padding HP recovery skills. Note that her Storage does not activate in PvP, so her healing is non-padding there.
First of all, Sora has a generic healer kit. She has HP potency, which means she heals more from healing(s), and also recovers the team's HP by using Burst Skill. However, as we explained in the Skill Analysis - Burst Skill section, instant HP recovery are worse than Max HP skills in PvP. This is because it doesn't really block one-shot wipes or continuous, devastating attacks like SAnis's (since healing cannot exceed Max HP without Storage).
What about the HP potency? Well, Sora is not tanky enough to be placed in P1. Unlike Noise, she doesn't have Damage Reduction or Max HP▲, so she relies solely on stat and healing from teammates (thanks to HP potency). This is not enough in PvP, especially if you fight against Fire enemies (Sora is Wind). If you have to survive in P1 from your teammates' healing, why don't you just use Nero or maybe Moran or maybe just Noise or Rapunzel with stun threats? Sora doesn't really offer much here. Her presence isn't threatening enough.
That said, Sora is not completely useless. For newer players who do not have enough burst generation units, Sora's mediocre burst generation is on an acceptable level of usability. With the severe lack of b1 units initially in PvP, Sora is at the very least usable for incomplete rosters to fill in empty slots.
Investments
Gear Investments
Not worth your materials, but if you insist, then what's important for Sora is base ATK stat. You might benefit from 1-2× Max Ammo. with some charge speed for your overload gear if using her for burst genning purposes (spamshotting) or pvp. Even then, good OL lines aren't a priority. Focus on maxing Helmet, Vest/Body Armor, and Gloves. Boots do not provide ATK stat. Speed.
- Essential: -
- Ideal:
- Passable: Charge Speed, Max Ammo
- Priority: Very Low
Skill Investments
As a disclaimer, we do not recommend investing into Sora unless or until she is your waifu.
- Skill 1: 1-4
- HP potency is useless.
- Upgrade for CP padding only.
- However, in PvP, the small extra % may allow her to soak a little bit more damage. Not worth anything past 4, though.
- Skill 2: 4/7/10
- We want the ATK buff for PvE, but this skill is useless in PvP (still useful for CP padding).
- Theoretically, you should get 10 for the best number, but why would you over-invest in Sora?
- Recommend stopping at 7 if you insist on building.
- Burst Skill:4/7/10
- Mainly for PvP purposes because healing is not always needed in PvE (or is not particularly effective like in Campaign).
- Upgrade only if you are using her Burst Skill in PvP and need the extra % healing.
Suggested Progression Path
PVE investment
1/1/1 → 4/4/4 → 4/7/4 (→ 4/10/4)
PVP investment
1/1/1 → 4/4/4 → 4/1/7 (→ 7/1/10)
Priority
Very Low
Cube Investments

Sora's technically a healer in PvP and more of a regular semi-healer-semi-offense support unit in PvE. This makes her cube recommendations different for both game modes.
For PvE, Resilience, Bastion, or any of your higher-leveled cubes is good enough. This will give her more ATK stat. Resilience/Bastion may help with burst genning too because they allow her to shoot more. If more healing is needed, then Vigor/Healing will serve the job.
In PvP, if she is tanking in P1, Tempering is probably the best cube. Vigor/Healing will boost her healing power, making her Burst more impactful. However, Healing does not directly increase her tankiness.
Doll Investments
Not worth Doll investments in PvE content. In PvP, Dolls are (almost) mandatory, but Sora does not provide enough to be considered as a meta contender.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- Can dispel debuffs.
- Lots of healing on Burst Skill.
- Can provide the team with ATK buff even as off-burst, as well as Storage, as though increasing their Max HP.
- She preserves your gems. Be grateful for skip banners as the Summer event is coming near. Probably meta + limited banners back to back.
- Thighs.
Cons
- Just bad.
- No proper offensive support, no proper defensive support, no technical ability to push her above the rest in niche situations except being able to dispel, but there are better cleansers in Nikke already available, e.g. Crust.
- 40s Burst Skill CD.
- Low versatility (requires parts) and low usage potential (insanely overshadowed by better units in all game modes except maybe Sim OC and occasionally UR).
- All her skills only have one condition, and they all give trifling effects that don't synergize with one another.
- Not Clip RL, which means less burst gen, but made worse with the 2s Reload Time.
- SU every time: Hot designs = Bad Kit. Bay, Clay, Arcana, Elegg… They can’t keep getting away with this.
