Should You Pull? (TLDR)
You should pull if:
- You use an Inspiration/Impromptu Incantation team
- You want the current best sustain option for Inspiration teams
- You need a character who can gain [Eureka], provide bonus DMG, and generate shields for an Inspiration team
- Want constant shields, dispels, dmg/crit buff for no AP.
Review
For those who like it short and sweet: if you use an Inspiration team and care about making it the best it can be, you should probably pull for Kiperina. She’s currently one of the best sustain options for that archetype. Now, let’s talk more about why.
Kiperina is a 6-star character of the Star Afflatus who primarily deals Mental DMG and functions as both a survival-focused unit and a support for Inspiration teams. Her skill “For Everyone” grants a mass shield to all allies for 2 rounds. It also stacks with existing shields and increases crit rate and damage dealt based on the current shield value.
So far, that’s her only sustain, right? So what exactly makes her so good?
Let’s jump ahead to her Insight III. First, it gives her Eureka +4, which is good and all. More importantly, at the start of the round, she dispels one type of [Control] from all allies, consumes all Eureka, and then casts one rank of “For Everyone” for every 2 Eureka consumed. That means you get free shields at the start of every turn, and remember, these shields stack. And of course when they stack you get more survivability but in this case, you gain more crit rate and DMG dealt for every 600 shield value possessed. It’s quite literally free survival and DMG boost for doing almost nothing. You also just have a free control dispel every turn. She’s a free forget it sustain core, giving you shields every single turn without maybe wasting an AP, it adds up fast and she’s also a free dispel.
Getting into the more [Inspiration] specific parts of her kit, her first Insight I makes it so that when allies consume Eureka, [Inspiration] increases. After an ally or the Impromptu Incantation itself scores 2 critical hits, you gain an additional Eureka +1. At the end of the round, you gain [Auroral Corona] for every excess Eureka consumed that round. [Auroral Corona] grants different effects at the start of the next round based on the number of stacks you have. With 1 stack or above, damage dealt is increased by 10%. At 8 stacks or above, all allied incantations gain 1 point of Inspiration. When you reach 20 stacks or more, 50% of the excess Critical Rate from that round’s [Impromptu Incantation] converts to Critical DMG.
Again this is pretty much an AP free way to easily boost both Impromptu Incantations and Crit.
Her attacking skill, “Colors from Space,” is a mass attack that consumes 2 Eureka and increases the number of [Impromptu Incantation] for the round. Impromptu Incantation teams focus on dealing damage through Impromptu Incantation and generating as many hits as possible, so this skill is very useful. Her ultimate, “Reach for the Stars,” inflicts [Cosmic Radiation] on all enemies, which is a debuff that decreases their damage resist and critical resist. Then, she dispels all [Stats Down], [Neg Status], and [Control] from all allies and grants 6 points of [Inspiration] to [Impromptu Incantation] for the round.
What you have here in Kiperina is a character who is incredibly strong and one of the best in the entire archetype. She’s a shielder who can generate AFK shields that also increase your damage. She supports the Inspiration archetype wholeheartedly by gaining Eureka from it and increasing its damage through boosting hit count and crit damage. She also provides general damage-up support unrelated to Inspiration, and her ultimate is a mass dispel and her passive aside from being a free shield is also a free dispel. She’s an incredibly strong character, and if you care about the meta, you should probably pull for her. Her lack of needed AP and the ability to just benefit the team by existing and her Inspiration specific support makes her the perfect sustain for the team.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Passive shields and dispels each round without using AP
- Stackable shields that scale that help with survival and help buff damage output.
- Has various effects related to Inspiration (crit rate, hit count, Eureka, etc.), making her one of the best in the archetype.
- Cleanses multiple debuff types and provides consistent utility across all content
Cons
- Performs best in Inspiration teams, which may require specific characters to shine (Matilda is a free option but upgrading her Euphoria is a significant investment)
- You might still need a dedicated healer in some options.
Portrays
Portrays aren’t really necessary for her, and since she’s a 6-star, they won’t be easy to get. You can get more damage out of her if you do go for her portrays.
Great Synergies
Her best synergies are essentially any characters you would use in an Inspiration team, like Voyager (who’s basically a core in most inspiration teams), Aleph, and now the newly released Euphoria Regulus even. All of them should work well, not to mention free units like Matilda (praise the duck).
But some particularly good ones are like Barcarola, who can constantly provide crit rate and crit damage buffs, which work great with Kiperina. Kiperina can convert overflowing crit rate from her Impromptu Incantation into crit damage, so none of it goes to waste.
Psychubes
Here are the best Psychubes you can use on Kiperina:

Aurora After Winter: Help Kiperina gain ATK, and since she is a Star Afflatus, she also gets a Crit DMG buff that stacks based on the number of Eurekas for the whole team.
Long Night Talk: Damage buff based on how many positive status buffs you have, and it also boosts ATK when you use a buff incantation, which she will use frequently.
A lot of other ones could probably work for her like Addio Coda but that should probably go on her teammate Barcarola instead.

Standard Teams
Pew Pew Pew[GLB]
TEAM EXPLANATION
- 4th slot options: Barcarola
- Probably one of the strongest teams available at this time. Utilizes the large amounts of Crit stats stacked by Barcarola and Kiperina (and the latter's Crit Conversion) topped with Aleph's [Interpretation] and Voyager's [Orbital Direction] to nuke through anything in the game. Kept incredibly safe by Kiperina's ridiculous [Shield] values as well as Voyager's [Sturdiness] and automatic Control application. Kiperina CAN be exchanged for Fatutu or Ezra, but this causes amounts of DMG loss. In addition, Barcarola/Aleph can be traded for FP for Inspiration gen.
Basic Core[GLB]
TEAM EXPLANATION
- 4th slot options: Inspiration Character
- 3rd Slot can be any Inspiration Character
- Voyager and Kiperina are often considered the core of Inspiration teams. Kiperina provides the sustain that was missing from the archetype, essentially for free, and can boost Crit DMG to great amounts, while Voyager allows Impromptu Incantation to target a specific enemy instead of being random and increases the number of hits.
