Disk Drives
Disk Drives are a type of equipment in this game and serve the function of armor and accessories in a traditional RPG game - they're the equivalent of Relics from Honkai: Star Rail.
Here's a summary of information about the Disk Drives that we know so far:
- Equipping Disk Drives to your Agents will provide them with a variety of stat increases from HP to ATK to CRIT,
- Disk Drives will provide your Agents with the main bulk of their stat increases,
- Each Agent can equip up to six Disc Drives,
- Numbered in the game with the Roman numerals: I, II, III, IV, V, and VI (you can see it also on the image above),
- Each Drive Disk has one base stat and up to 4 random sub-stats,
- Equipping a required number (either 2 or 4) of Drive Disks belonging to the same set, will unlock Set Effects.
Stats
Main Stats
Each Disk Drive has one main stat and up to 4 sub-stats. Depending on the Disk Drive slot it fits in, the possible main stats are:
- I - Flat HP
- II - Flat ATK
- III - Flat DEF
- IV - HP%, ATK%, DEF%, CRIT Rate%, CRIT DMG%
- V - HP%, ATK%, DEF%, PEN Ratio%, Attribute Mastery
- VI - HP%, ATK%, DEF%, Anomaly Rate%, Energy Regen%, Impact%
Sub Stats
Disk Drives sub-stats are randomly generated, but they cannot be the same as the Disk Drives' main stat. The list of possible substats are:
- Flat HP
- Flat ATK
- Flat DEF
- HP%
- ATK%
- DEF%
- Crit Rate%
- Crit DMG%
- PEN (flat)
- Attribute Mastery
Upgrading Disk Drives
Disk Drives can also be leveled up to increase the main stat bonus, but the sub-stats are generated when you obtain the item (or when you enhance it) and they can't be changed. The maximum level of a Disk Drives is determined by its rarity which ranges from B to S rank. The higher the rarity of a Disk Drive, the higher the stats it will have at its base level and when upgraded.
Also, if the Disk Drive has fewer than 4 sub-stats, it gains a new random sub-stat. If the Disk Drive already has 4 sub-stats, a random sub-stat is increased by a random amount.
The table below shows the Disk Drive information in an easier form to read:
Rarity | Color | Max level | Base number of sub-stats | Number of unlocks | Number of upgrades |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
B | Blue | +9 | 1-2 | 2-3 | 0-1 |
A | Purple | +12 | 2-3 | 1-2 | 2-3 |
S | Gold | +15 | 3-4 | 0-1 | 4-5 |

Set effects
Drive Disk also come in sets and equipping multiple Drive Disk from the same set will provide additional bonuses for the Agent. Compared to Honkai: Star Rail, the sets aren't split into two groups and they all have 2-piece and 4-piece bonus. Still, the game introduces a small twist on the sets, splitting them into two tiers:
- Tier 1 sets (purple) are the beginner sets unlocked at the start of the game and they can only appear on B and A rank Disk Drives,
- Tier 2 sets (gold) are unlocked at Account Level 30 and they are much stronger, but can only appear on A and S rank Disk Drives.
Below you can find a few examples of both sets:
Assassin's Ballad
Noisy Pop
Inferno Metal
Thunder Metal

How to obtain
The way of obtaining the Disk Sets is a bit different compared to Honkai: Star Rail where you would fight enemies in Caverns of Corrosion to obtain Relics. In Zenless Zone Zero the process was simplified and you 'gacha' for the Disk Drives.
- You can use Plating Agents at the music store - Bardic Needle - to obtain new random Disc Drives,
- You can obtain Plating Agents from Commissions that cost stamina,
- Once your Account Level is high enough, the music store will level up, unlocking new features (including new Disk Sets you can obtain),
- Tuning Orientation allows you to pick a set and increase its drop rate (check below images).
