Koko is a Mauler Support focused on team damage taken reduction to keep allies alive longer.

Her Ultimate, Full Energy, is the main reason why she is used, it gives all allies 55% Damage Reduction, Life Drain, and ATK boost. These buffs are undispellable and cannot be stacked. At Mythic+, when the buff ends, allies gain a shield based on the damage dealt during its duration. With her EX weapon, Full Energy also cleanses allies of CC and grants them Resilience which shortens the Debuff durations while the buffs are active.

Her other skills are simple but pretty effective. Fulfilling Feast heals the weakest ally, giving them an ATK buff. It also heals Patto while increasing its Energy on Hit thus helping Koko recharge her Ultimate faster. At Supreme+, it additionally grants Vitality, boosting the healed ally’s incoming healing. Patto Smash! has two parts: it first throws a spear that damages an enemy and increases their Damage Taken. Then, if an enemy is on a tile adjacent to Koko, Patto stomps the ground to Stun them.

Now, for a quick overview of her performance in the various game modes:

  • Story and AFK stages - Koko is pretty much an auto pick if you're using a Mauler-based composition. She will help your teammates be healthy for a good duration of the fight.

  • Dream Realm - She is a decent pick in this gamemode but other characters do her job better while also giving more essential buffs/debuffs against the Dream Realm Bosses. Her Damage Reduction isn't enough.

  • PVP - Used in any team that can reasonably expect to drag the fight long enough for Koko to use her Ultimate for Damage Reduction and healing. Usually paired up with a faster healer such as Mikola or Gerda in Mauler teams or Damian/Ludovic in other teams.

Conclusion

Koko remains one of the best and most reliable supports in the game, and she's likely to stay relevant for a long time.

Start investing in her as early as Base, but aiming for L+ is great because of the Haste. Unlocking and upgrading her EX Weapon to +10 is sufficient for most content, but if you're using her in PVP, going for +15 is recommended for stats and more Resilience on her Ultimate.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Ultimate provides massive Damage Reduction and more.

  • Defensive option for when enemies go near.

Cons

  • Ultimate is slow to charge.

  • Needs to be paired up with a faster healer.

Guides

EX Investment

Since the

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
and
Twilight Essence
Twilight Essence
are very hard to obtain, you have to be really careful with the using them to upgrade the EX weapon. And in this guide we ordered all characters by the priority when it comes to how much they need investment in their EX weapon to work well and where should you stop to get the best bang for your buck.

Color explanation:

  • +X - where every character starts,
  • +X - the next step that you should do when investing into that character - for some characters this will be enough,
  • +X - the final step you should do when investing into that character - you can go beyond that later though once you have the Essences to spare.
