Living Armor - Kensuke

Unlocks at level 1

Cooldown: -

Range: 1 Tiles

Initial Energy: 600

Laios summons a slow-moving armor with infinite HP, controlled by Kensuke. This Living Armor starts with 1,000 Energy and deals damage equal to 300% + 30% of Laios' ATK. It loses 25 Energy per second while it exists. Whenever it takes base damage exceeding 250% + 20% of the caster's ATK, it loses an extra 100 Energy. At zero Energy, the armor crumbles on the spot but regains 125 Energy per second until its Energy is full again, and then it returns to combat. When casting this skill again, Laios recovers 1,000 Energy for Kensuke, grants it control immunity and increases its ATK SPD by 120 + 10 over the next 10s.

Unlocks at level 51: Increases the Living Armor's ATK to 320% + 30% of Laios' ATK.

Unlocks at level 111: Increases the Living Armor's ATK to 340% + 30% of Laios' ATK.

Unlocks at level 171: Increases the Living Armor's ATK to 360% + 30% of Laios' ATK.

Unlocks at level 231: Increases the Living Armor's ATK to 380% + 30% of Laios' ATK.

Skill I

Intimidate

Unlocks at level 11

Cooldown: 10s

Range: 1 Tile

Laios spreads his limbs to appear larger and lets out an intimidating roar. Enemies within 3 adjacent tiles in front become confused, unable to move or act and suffer a 44% + 5% reduction in both Phys DEF and Magic DEF for 3s. If the targets are monsters, the confusion effect extends for an additional 4 + 1s after the skill ends.

Unlocks at level 71: Increases the Phys DEF and Magic DEF reduction to 46% + 5%.

Unlocks at level 131: Increases the Phys DEF and Magic DEF reduction to 48% + 5%.

Unlocks at level 191: Increases the Phys DEF and Magic DEF reduction to 50% + 5%.

Skill II

Dungeon Gourmet

Unlocks at level 31

Cooldown: 12s

Range: 1 Tile

Passive. Whenever an enemy monster is defeated, Laios collects an ingredient from it and instantly recovers 250 Energy and 500% HP. Laios uses the collected ingredients and cooks on the spot, recovering 500% HP for allies within 2 tiles and increasing their ATK by 20% + 5% for 8 + 0.5s.

When actively used, for each ingredient Laios has collected, the cooked meal randomly grants one of the following extra buffs: Increases Phys DEF and Magic DEF by 40%, increases Haste by 30, or recovers 100% HP per second. Extra buffs can be triggered up to 3 times. If Marcille receives the buff, she recovers an extra 300 Energy.

Laios is an A-level Dimensional Warrior, featured for a limited time with the Delicious in Dungeon Collab. He can be ascended to Mythic+ for free by participating in the Dungeon Feast event.

When Laios casts his Ultimate, he summons a giant but slow-moving suit of armor with infinite HP, controlled by Kensuke. The Living Armor enters the battlefield with 1,000 initial Energy and deals damage based on a percentage of Laios’ base ATK. While it lives, the Armor loses 25 Energy per second and loses an extra 100 Energy each time it receives an amount of damage that exceeds a certain percentage of the caster’s ATK. Once the Living Armor reaches 0 Energy, it collapses, regaining 125 Energy per second until returning to combat once its Energy is full again. Each time Laios casts this skill again, he recovers 1,000 Energy for Kensuke in addition to granting Control Immunity and increased ATK SPD for the next 10 seconds.

Laios uses his “Intimidate” skill by spreading his limbs to appear larger than he is, letting out a roar. This roar confuses all enemies within 3 tiles, causing them to be unable to move or act while suffering a Phys and Magic DEF reduction for 3 seconds. If the targets are monsters, the Confusion effect extends for an additional 4 seconds.

With “Dungeon Gourmet,” Laios passively collects an ingredient from each enemy monster that is defeated during battle. These ingredients instantly recover 250 Energy and 500% HP for Laios. When actively casting “Dungeon Gourmet,” Laios uses all ingredients he has collected to cook on the spot, recovering 500% HP for all allies within 2 tiles and granting them a 20% ATK buff for 8 seconds. For each ingredient Laios has collected, the cooked meal will also randomly grant all affected allies with 1 of 3 possible extra buffs:

  • Increased Phys & Magic DEF by 40%

  • Increased Haste by 30

  • 100% HP recovery per second

These extra buffs can be triggered up to 3 times, and if Marcille receives the buff, she will also recover an additional 300 Energy. With a fully upgraded Hero Focus, Laios increases his own ATK by up to 20% during battle.

At Mythic+, Laios unlocks “Ingredient Analysis,” an Exclusive Skill that functions similarly to that of Sinbad. At battle start, Laios examines the battlefield for any monsters among the enemies. He then takes out his Dungeon Gourmet Guide and begins to analyze these monsters to make them drop more ingredients. With this analysis, each monster will prematurely drop 1 extra ingredient the first time it loses 30% of its max HP.

  • At EX+5, the damage Laios deals to monsters increases by 50%.

  • At EX+10, Laios’ Phys & Magic DEF is permanently increased by 25% for each ingredient collected from monsters, with a limit of 3 stacks.

  • At EX+15, the damage Laios deals to monsters increases by 80%.

  • At Supreme+, Laois permanently increases his max HP by 20% each time he collects a new ingredient using Dungeon Gourmet. This effect can be triggered up to 3 times.

Performance in Various Game Modes:
  • Story/AFK Stages - Laios has a kit that is built to excel more in AFK Stages over any other game mode, due to the number of his skills that only apply when there are enemy monsters; a “monster” is any enemy that is not a hero or their summoned units. For stage pushing, Laios can provide excellent ally buffing and Crowd Control at a rate that scales based on the number of monsters he is fighting. He also provides useful DEF shreds and debuffs to help your team synergize for the win. At high deficit Apex Stages, Laios might have a harder time finding a slot in teams where heavy CC and stall tactics from units like Saida, Thador, Velara or Mehira are required to outlast the enemy team.

  • Dream Realm - Laios lacks the HP Loss/Pure damage that is necessary for success in Endless DR, so it is not anticipated that he will find any use in bossing for the remainder of the season. In Pre-Endless, there is a small chance his buffs will come in handy, due to the bosses being “monsters” who will activate his complete skill set; however, there is only 1, which means he won’t be at his maximum potential and he could easily be outshone by a faster and more effective auxiliary DPS like Faramor or Nazrik.

  • PVP - Since Laios requires enemy monsters to maximize the potential of his kit, he does not have much to offer in the realm of PVP. His major buffs/debuffs are only activated when he collects ingredients that monsters drop, thus there will be no monsters for him to cook from and he is unlikely to endure the current Melee Burst meta that requires tanking huge nuke damage and out-sustaining the enemy.

Conclusion

Laios is a limited-time hero with a unique kit that specializes against “monsters,” making him a niche pick for a specific type of battle. His ideal investment can start small, since he won’t require high Paragon as other PvP assassins do to compete; for pre-season or new players, he will likely get the job done in AFK Stages at a minimum of Mythic. To maximize his potential, he may require Mythic+ EX+10 to unlock the extra damage he will deal to monsters in addition to the extra sustain from an increased defense. His Supreme+ is not a requirement, but it will give him the extra HP that he may eventually need for better survivability at higher deficit stages.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Supreme+ not required.

  • Specializes against monster targets.

  • Offers a high variety of ally buffs & enemy monster debuffs/CC.

Cons

  • Highly Ultimate reliant, since his Living Armor is his main source of non-monster enemy damage.

  • Cannot use the majority of skills against heroes or their summons, making his use case extremely niche.
