Lucy is an A-rank Dimensional Mage whose kit is based around Crowd Control while having some Support potential along with summoning Aquarius, who effectively acts as a second Lucy.

At the start of battle, Lucy gains 700 Energy, which allows her to get her first Ultimate out very quickly.

Her Ultimate, Celestial Spirit Summon can be cast twice per battle. The first time it is used, Lucy summons Aquarius, a minion with long range attacks and a 2s Stun on a 10s cooldown. The second time, Aquarius gets an ATK SPD buff (Supreme+ only)

Her first skill, Lucy Kick, is a simple attack that targets the enemy damage carry, and Stuns the target for 2.5s.

Her second skill, Star Dress: Aquarius Form, is a passive skill that activates when Lucy casts her Ultimate a second time, giving her the same ranged Stun ability as Aquarius and providing her with ranged attacks.

Now, for a quick overview of her performance in the various game modes:

  • Story and AFK stages – Lucy can be used in AFK stage pushing in control teams, and deals more damage the longer a battle goes on for. She acts as more of a sub-carry than a proper DPS carry, as her damage output leaves much to be desired and she is used mostly for her CC potential instead. Still she is a viable choice in control teams for AFK pushing.

  • Dream Realm – Lucy’s kit, being mostly based around Crowd Control, does not work very well with bosses and she lacks the damage multipliers or damage buffs that favour using up a slot in bossing teams. And while her damage is decent, decent is not good enough for Boss content and she fails to  even make the cut for Ravaged Realm, unlike Natsu.

  •  PVP – Lucy is a hero who requires a long ramp-up, and the majority of her kit is locked behind her Ultimate, which will often be among the first to be cancelled by Lily May due to her initial Energy. She also has very little mobility or self survivability, making her ill-suited for the current burst damage meta. Overall, it is hard to justify using a team slot for Lucy in PVP.

Investment

Lucy actually works reasonably well at low dupes, though you do get M+ for free during the crossover event.

  • Legendary+ gives her extra Haste.

  • Mythic+ allows her to protect the weakest ally with a shield.

  • EX+10 Improves her shield with a Ranged DEF buff.

  • Supreme+ adds an ATK SPD buff for Aquarius when Lucy uses her Ultimate for the second time in a battle.

As Lucy is used mostly for her Crowd Control, it is enough to leave her at Mythic+ EX +10.

Conclusion

Lucy is a Sub-Carry, Crowd Control specialist with a long ramp-up, amidst a roster that already does Crowd Control and Damage better than her. One niche that can be explored is zoo teams, if that archetype ever gets proper support in the future. Recommended to use the resources from the crossover event to get her to Mythic+ for free, and leave her at that.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Good CC potential.

  • Provides shields and Ranged DEF buffs.

  • High starting Energy.

  • Her summons effectively acts as a second Lucy.

Cons

  • Dimensional faction is not universal, which hurts faction bonus when used in a team.

  • Long ramp-up without enough payoff to justify it.

  • Squishy.

  • Does not excel in any gamemode.

Guides

EX Investment

Since the

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
and
Twilight Essence
Twilight Essence
are very hard to obtain, you have to be really careful with the using them to upgrade the EX weapon. And in this guide we ordered all characters by the priority when it comes to how much they need investment in their EX weapon to work well and where should you stop to get the best bang for your buck.

Color explanation:

  • +X - where every character starts,
  • +X - the next step that you should do when investing into that character - for some characters this will be enough,
  • +X - the final step you should do when investing into that character - you can go beyond that later though once you have the Essences to spare.
