4s into a battle, Nazrik marks the enemy who has taken the most damage as his prey and prioritizes them as the target for all his skills.

When casting this skill, Nazrik silently prays before hurling a spear with a guaranteed critical hit, dealing 600% + 70% true damage to an enemy. After a short delay, he triggers all Rend stacks on that enemy, dealing 35% + 3.5% extra damage per stack.

Skill I

Savage Wound

Unlocks at level 11

Cooldown: 0s

Range: 10 Tiles

Whenever Nazrik lands a critical hit on an enemy with a spear throw from his normal attacks or skills, he deals extra damage equal to 6.5% + 0.8% of the enemy's initial max HP. The extra damage cannot exceed 180% + 20%. Each hit also reduces the enemy's max HP by the same amount, up to 40%. Against bosses, the max HP reduction does not apply; instead, the extra damage is converted into true damage.

Additionally, each hit inflicts 5 stacks of Rend on the enemy, up to 30 stacks. This effect cannot be dispelled. When an enemy affected by Rend casts their Ultimate, they take 35% + 3.5% damage for each Rend stack they currently have.

Unlocks at level 71: Increases the extra damage dealt to 7% + 0.8% of the enemy's max HP.

Nazrik is an S-level Mauler Marksman who specializes in marking enemies and dealing heavy Critical True Damage.

“Rend Rupture” automatically marks the enemy that has taken the most damage as Nazrik’s prey, focusing all his attacks and skills on this enemy. When activated, Nazrik throws a spear that deals guaranteed Critical True Damage and triggers all Rend stacks on the target. Rend stacks come from “Savage Wound,” which applies 5 stacks of Rend for every Critical Hit, with a maximum of 30 stacks in total.

Rend stacks are also triggered when the prey uses their Ultimate. “Savage Wound” deals additional bonus damage based on the target's initial max HP and reduces their max HP by the same percentage, up to 40% total. In boss battles, the HP reduction is replaced by additional True Damage.

“Staggering Strike” targets the enemy who has done the most healing. This strike deals damage, stunning the enemy for 3s, and reduces their Healing by 90 for 15s. This skill acts as a great counter against burst healers, especially in PvP.

Nazrik’s Hero Focus increases his Crit, which in turn increases the probability of Nazrik applying more stacks of Rend to his enemy prey. His Crit further increases after a total of 15 Rend stacks have been inflicted. At Supreme+, Nazrik's critical hits gain additional Crit DMG at a rate that scales on his own Crit.

At Mythic+, Nazrik unlocks “Pack Tactics.” Nazrik reduces his prey's Crit Resist and enables his allies to also inflict 1 stack of Rend for every Critical Hit they land. At EX+10, when Nazrik’s prey reaches 15 Rend stacks, their healing/shielding received is reduced by 50% and damage taken is increased by 10%.

Performance in Various Game Modes:
  • Story and AFK stages – Nazrik is a strong DPS option for high-deficit and might even be a top contender, as his attacks deal true damage. His high Crit value gives him excellent synergy with the current stage-pushing meta, making him a great choice for pairing with Crit bombers like Thador or stall experts like Saida.

  • Dream Realm – Nazrik has shown veritable promise in early testing, with his own damage dealing on par with pre-endless staples such as Faramor. However, it will be difficult for Nazrik to compete for a slot in Endless Dream Realm, where damage from HP Loss effects currently dominates.

  • PVP – Nazrik’s performance in the Arena is solid but not quite game-breaking, as he tends to be outclassed by other top-tier DPS options whose impacts are much faster and take less time to build up. However, in Supreme Arena, he truly excels; his synergy with units in the new melee meta, such as Perseus, Ravion, Thador or Zandrok, allows him to fully leverage his utility, making his performance outstanding.

Conclusion

Nazrik is a powerful addition to the Mauler family, a faction that has been notoriously lacking in high-powered DPS options since the power creep of Odie began. When set up correctly, he has the potential to be a top-tier DPS, offering Speed, Critical Damage, and support to increase the output of another DPS fighting alongside him. In addition to his own damage potential, his ability to target enemy healers adds an extra element to his utility in PvP.

To invest in Nazrik, it’s best to start at Legendary+ for the added Crit. Due to the reduction of his prey’s Crit Resist, he has the potential to be useful in boss battles even at low ascension. Advancing to Mythic+ and EX+10 enhances his performance greatly by granting extra Rend stacks and improving his overall utility. Supreme+ mainly provides higher stats and is not a highly necessary upgrade, but it is ultimately worth it for maximizing his performance and expanding his utility beyond that of just PvE.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Although he only selects 1 enemy prey, his debuff stacks enhance the damage output of his allies.

  • Does not require a Supreme+ investment to prove useful.

  • Deals a high amount of true damage.

Cons

  • Single-target attack style when targeting 1 enemy as prey.

  • May require too much time to ramp up, making him susceptible to high burst damage at battle start.

  • Requires Ultimate to mark enemy prey and trigger Rend stacks, making him vulnerable to Dunlingr’s Spell Lock.
