Review

Saida is an S-Level character of the Rogue class who belongs to the Hypogean faction, who specializes in Life Drain, survivability, self-revives, and a stall-based game plan.

Saida’s ultimate, “Seed Siphon”, causes Saida to teleport in front of an enemy, interrupting them, dealing damage and draining energy while also planting a Drain Seed in the enemy, remaining unaffected while doing so and prioritizing enemies without a Drain Seed. Saida can have up to 8 Drain Seeds on the battlefield, and will passively deal damage and reduce energy from enemies carrying a Drain Seed.

Her first skill, “Crimson Claim”, allows her attacks and skill to drain HP, with excess healing converted to shield, and when activated, interrupts and deals damage to an enemy, with nearby Drain Seeds also dealing a small amount of damage too.

Her second skill, “Revenant Sprout”, allows Saida to always revive as long as there is a Drain Seed remaining on the battlefield, making her a powerful stall hero.

Now, for a quick overview of her performance in the various game modes:

  • Story and AFK stages – Saida’s damage scales well into high deficit, and once she gets going, she can solo entire enemy teams as she can keep some of the more dangerous enemies from using their ultimates entirely, while draining their health. Saida can also be quite tanky with proper support, and lacks the usual counters to her game plan in most afk stages, making her an effective afk stage pusher.

  • Dream Realm – While Saida can perform similarly to Baelran in some bosses, she has not earned a spot in any top teams for endless bosses quite yet, as she specializes in dealing with multiple enemies rather than single enemies.

  • PVP – For PVP, Saida is the ultimate stall carry, but takes some time to really get going, and wants to cast her ultimate multiple times to win the battle. Best paired with other characters who can either provide value while dead or revive, such as Athalia, Pandora, Talene, Tasi and Damian. She is a little slow for the current burst damage meta, and has many counters such as Shemira, Cryonaia, Athalia, Dionel and other high burst damage teams, but can be slotted into those teams to clean up after most of her team has died and provide some shields, otherwise, she needs a stall team built around her to be effective.

Investment
  • Legendary+ makes her tankier, providing damage resistance.

  • Mythic+ greatly reduces the damage dealt by enemies carrying a Drain Seed.

  • EX +15 plays into her stall game plan, providing an attack dealing massive damage and long-lasting CC after casting her ultimate 3 times.

  • Supreme+ gives her two drain seeds at the start of battle, given to allies, providing shields.

We recommended upgrading Saida to Supreme+ EX +15, as that is where most of the payoff of her kit comes online.

Conclusion

Saida is one of the best stall characters yet, and can solo teams by herself as long as she can survive long enough. Pull for her if you want to improve your stall teams for afk stages or PVP, otherwise, she is safe to skip.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Best stall carry yet, can revive herself as long as she has Drain Seeds.

  • Usually wins the battle after casting 3 ultimates.

  • Very tanky for a Rogue character, with great self-sustain.

  • Great at draining energy from enemies.

Cons

  • Long ramp-up time to set up her win condition.

  • Prone to getting sniped early.

  • Requires high investment.

  • Poor damage against bosses.

EX Investment

Since the

Temporal Essence
Temporal Essence
and
Twilight Essence
Twilight Essence
are very hard to obtain, you have to be really careful with the using them to upgrade the EX weapon. And in this guide we ordered all characters by the priority when it comes to how much they need investment in their EX weapon to work well and where should you stop to get the best bang for your buck.

Color explanation:

  • +X - where every character starts,
  • +X - the next step that you should do when investing into that character - for some characters this will be enough,
  • +X - the final step you should do when investing into that character - you can go beyond that later though once you have the Essences to spare.
