Asuka is your standard Melee DPS with no frills. Her ultimate skill is basically an AOE attack that removes her clothes and gives her a 15-second ATK buff. That’s all. There are no other gimmicks. She also comes with the usual AOE active skill, and 2 passive skills that increase her ATK%, Crit Rate and potency of any equipped item’s main stats.

Notes: Main Stat refers to the base stats of the gear - Flat ATK for weapons, Flat DEF for Armor, Flat HP and ATK for accessories, and Flat HP and DEF for runes. Our gearing guide has a useful rundown on how equipment works, so please check it out!

Much, much older players might remember max rarity Ethan carrying them at the launch of the Korean Server. She’s basically just 5-star Ethan with a tendency to strip. Asuka is as free as her free-spirited nature, being available at max ascension from the 1 gold Season Pass during the Collab event.

She is designed to be the baby’s first DPS carry, and has a really simplified kit to get new players into the game. Asuka falls off just as quickly as she grows, having no other gimmicks that allow her to shine in later parts of the game, especially when incoming damage becomes harder for her to tank with her raw stats.

Asuka’s card, Take Training Seriously!, increases Melee ATK%, Crit Rate, and Damage Reduction. It’s free while the Collab event pass is available and you will eventually have better options for Knight DPSes, but you may as well keep it for the fanservice, or cash in that 1 extra dupe for the rare soul. Your call.

Notes: Most teams featuring Asuka will be running Dian Cecht, which provides an ATK% buff. This usually means her ATK% stat is saturated.

Synergies

Dian Cecht - Good time to teach you about team building - Dian amps the Additional Damage and ATK of all Knights in the party, making her the cornerstone of most, if not all, Knight decks. She also gives the party some useful DMG reduction and shield buffs, keeping Asuka alive for longer. Check out our team building guide for more info.

Cards

Moonlight Swordplay (Ran) - One of the best melee DPS cards available. Asuka likes to be in the heat of action, so having additional counterattacks makes it a solid pick for her.
Elgrad Sword Art Journal (Lua) - Another solid pick that can go with any DPS. Asuka’s active is a bit longer than average, so being able to fire off her active more times makes this quite potent.
Lingering Allure (Anessa) - On top of the usual ATK% and Crit rate for Asuka, also grants a party-wide ATK buff, which means more team damage and more healing in general.

Comments

Asuka will work well with any card that can increase her ATK%, Crit Rate, Crit Damage and Additional Damage. As a melee DPS, you should also aim at gearing her defensively to survive any stat checks.
