Altar of Invocation

After doing 30 pulls on the Standard Banner, you will unlock the Altar of Invocation that allows you to 'wishlist' 5 characters each from the three main factions (Church, Kingdom and Bloodborn). Moving forward, every time you will pull an SSR character from those factions on the standard banner, you will only obtain characters placed on the list (but you can still pull Ancestors no matter what, so don't worry).
You MUST place 5 characters per faction (so fill the whole list), or else the wishlist won't work.
In this guide you will find the best options for each faction.
Church
The Church faction has three important character that you always want to have on your 'wishlist', but for the other two spots you have a few options.
Core characters
- Acappella - currently she's the best Crescent Moon character in the game that can both heal and buff the whole team, but also on top of that increase the Bloodsoul Recovery Rate for them. Keep in mind that her healing is small, so she can't be used as the solo 'healer' in the team - treat it more like additional thing.
- Van Helsing - the best Marksman in the game who, since the release ofBella [Fleeting], became the go-to DPS for virtually all content whether it's Story, Bossing or Timeworm. Still, a contender will soon be released in the form of Timeless Aiona, so keep that in mind.
- Thibault - another DPS who specializes in AOE damage and provides an unique debuff that increases the critical damage taken by enemies.
Other options
- Edina - a New Moon healer/buffer hybrid. Requires the team to be clustered since her Ultimate is a targeted AoE.
- Theophane - a tank who can Taunt enemies and shield allies. Not as good as tanks belonging to other factions, but the best you can get in this one, making him important for the Faction Tower.
- Darcias - a DoT character who is currently the best partner forHati [Transcendent] as she can apply a lot of DoT for her to explode. Has no uses outside of DoT teams.
- Agares - another DoT character, but while Darcias is ST-focused, Agares is AoE-focused. Has niche uses in some events.
Bloodborn
Similar to Church, the Bloodborn faction has three important character that you always want to have on your 'wishlist', but for the other two spots you have a few options.
Core characters
- Dalcarlo - a CC/Debuffer/DPS hybrid who is a must have character for a lot of Story stages, especially if you're pushing under BP deficit. Has insane range on her ultimate, allowing you to 'snipe' pesky Mages/Snipers hiding in the backline and interrupt their casting.
- Bella - the best 'tank' in the game. She summons puppets that do the tanking for her, while she sits behind them and heals them (she can also heal any other summons in the team, making her core tank for that archetype).
- Lamia - a great DPS who was everyone's favorite on the game's launch, but her damage falls off a lot when you push the Story in bigger deficit - partially due to the 'random' nature of her Ultimate that spreads the damage between all enemies in wide range, making it hard to focus down important targets. Still great in any bossing content as she can 'bounce' her attacks off the same targets, leading to a lot burst damage.
Other options
- Ottavia - a damage amplifier for Magical teams, used mostly in events and some bossing content.
- Augustine - an assassin who can pull enemies from the backline to himself - has niche uses in some events and some Story stages.
Kingdom
It really looks like we're repeating ourselves - there are again some core members in this faction that you want to add to your wishlist and then some underwhelming options.
Core characters
- Aiona [Starry-Eyed] - the best shielder/healer in the game who can reposition the whole team with her Ultimate, which makes her crucial in a lot of fights where you need to avoid enemy attacks. Also, she provides a big shield for the ally in front of her (which in 99% will be the tank), allowing them to survive easier.
- Friedrich - a great tank who can shield himself and reduce the damage he takes. Has great synergy withAiona [Starry-Eyed] since her shields will still trigger his passive.
- Cecia - a core DPS for the summoner archetype who shines really well in AoE scenarios.
