Alene is a Defender dedicated to providing buffs and being the proper frontline for the Dusk's Devotion synergy. She can also provide small healing to help further sustain the team.

With that said, let's check out her skills to see how they function.

  • For her Basic Attack she attacks in melee range and swings her pillar and will hit any number of enemies within the range of her cone, this is perfect as she will be sponging damage in the frontline against Melee enemies making it so that she can hit most of them as whenever in Blood Moon state the Dusk's Devotion synergy will offer Lifesteal further improving her sustain.

  • Next, her Special, which grants healing and shield to all Dusk's Devotion allies, is great at helping stack phantom blood and also adds another layer of defense by shielding, hence you will want to build her with ATK SPD on her Echo Gear to further maximize the effectiveness of this skill.

  • Her Ultimate, on the other hand, makes her do an AOE attack by jumping to a targeted location to deal damage to the enemies in the area. This can also stun for 4 sec, which is great vs hordes of enemies.

  • Lastly, her Talent, the most important part of her kit mainly used on higher floors in the Temple of Light. This talent allows her to give a permanent buff to all Dusk's Devotion allies, Sandlash, which grants an additional +15% MDEF Pen and PDEF Pen, and also All DMG up (Minor), which gives +15% All DMG dealt.

Overall, for bossing or raid purposes, she is incredible. She offers quite a lot of versatility; however, half of her kit revolves around her synergy, making her notably less flexible to slot in any other teams.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Has high durability thanks to Synergy; it is important to team her up with Livian and Alexi.

  • Offers healing to help Phantom Blood stack and offers a layer of defense by providing a shield consistently.

  • Has good area attacks and control.

Cons

  • Half of her kit works only with Synergy members

Skill Investment

The numbers in the skill levels are placed in this order: Basic / Special / Ultimate. You can find more information about the colors in the section below.

Here's the explanation for all the numbers and colors used in the guide:

  • 10/5/7 means upgrading Basic to lvl 10, Special to lvl 5, and Ultimate to lvl 7,
  • Blue means the immediate investment when u get the unit (and are using them),
  • Orange means recommended investment for F2P players,
  • Red means maximum recommended investment, in order to get the best out of the unit.

More info:

  • The skill investment list below features a lot of Level 4 and 7 because they are easier to understand. Any higher levels will cost a new type of resource.
  • However, you may choose to upgrade to Level 5 if you need a stronger effect instead of 4, as the increase in Blue Manual cost from Level 4 to 5 is still low. The leap only starts from Level 6 onward.
  • There is also a leap from Level 3 to 4, so if you want to save a tiny bit of Blue Manuals, then leave at 3 instead of 4.

Priority explained:

  • Meta: Most important characters used everywhere.
  • High: Good in various PvE content.
  • Medium: Good in at least one PvE content.
  • Low: Can perform well in some PVE content, but they're niche.
  • PvP: These units are mainly used in PvP.

The Recommended and Flex stats listed below aren't placed in specific order. We may order them in the future once we have a better understanding of the damage formula, but currently the order does not matter.
