Empousa [Blooming] is a Sorcerer and the Oathsworn for the Silver Moon Illusion Synergy. This Synergy heavily focused on Continuous DMG Effect (DoT), therefore Empousa [Blooming] is a DoT DPS that utilizes Thorns a unique DoT that deals Piercing DMG every 2 sec and can stack up to 20, this can also converts generic DoT mainly Affliction, Bleed and Blood Mark into Thorns, She is also capable of buffing allies damage regardless if they are part of the synergy and specifically applies Soul Guard a cheat death buff to allies that are part of the Silver Moon Illusion Synergy.

Now let’s go over her kit.

  • First and foremost, her Basic Attack has low scaling but can bounce to two other enemies, dealing Piercing DMG and also inflicting Thorns for 12 Secs.

  • Next is her special Rose Garden, she will have tiles in four cardinal directions that will provide ALL DMG bonus up to 34%, a pretty simple skill and very flexible, making her fit into other teams as a buffer.

  • Moving on, we have her Ultimate. This will give her Soul Guard for 8 seconds. Having this buff makes their HP unable to fall below 1 and they gain 20% ATK, and after the effect ends, the buff holder heals themselves for 600% ATK.  Additionally, this Ultimate will scatter 5 projectiles around the target and will deal Piercing DMG as well as apply 3 stacks of Thorns for 12 secs and detonate all Thorns stacks. This will deal 2x the damage based on the remaining duration of the Thorns. afterwards all thorns stacks will be removed.

  • Lastly, her Talent, At the beginning of battle, she gains 2 stacks of Rose Crimson Brand, and whenever a Silver Moon Illusion vassal takes fatal damage, she will consume a Rose Brand to cast Soul Guard to prevent them from dying and this can only be triggered once per battle. Additionally, each time she casts Soul Guard, she will gain 10% ATK SPD and 5% ATK and this effect can be stacked up to 5 times.

Now with her Resonantia effects.

  • R1 Scarlet Reforge. Whenever she casts her Ultimate, she gains a stack of Rose Crimson Brand, additionally she increases the trigger count of  Soul Guard casting to Silver Moon Illusion allies by 1, effectively making them cheat death for 2 times.

  • R3 Blood Memory gives her more HP, increases All DMG Reduction and Crit Resist Rate.

  • R5 Eternal Bloom basically extends the duration of Soul Guard from 8 secs to 12 secs.

  • R7 Sky of Roses makes her already bounced attack bounce again towards two nearest enemies, making it so that she can apply a total of 7 Thorns instead of 3 if there are 3 or more enemies present.R9 Severance increases HP, ATK, Physical and Magical Defense.

Overall, Empousa [Blooming] is the most flexible ancestry. You can build her as a primary DPS or simply as a buffer; slotting her into any team will prove beneficial thanks to her Special Skill. On a side note, the Silver Moon Illusion Synergy is still incomplete and one more potential vassal is coming to the roster, which is Jestel [Transcendent]. Empousa [Blooming] works great even without additional Spirit Siphon; however, if you wanted to have an advantage, getting her Resonantia 1 works really great as an additional cheat death for Silver Moon Illusion allies, totalling for 16 secs of invulnerability, which can then be extended up to 24 secs with Resonantia 5. Getting her Resonantia 7 will be mostly for Hunt contents. Her banner lasts for almost 2 months, so there will be a lot of time when deciding.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • Incredible damage coming from her Thorns and burst potential from detonating it.

  • Extremely flexible as she can fit into other teams, thanks to her Special.

  • High survivability with the use of Soul Guard, enabling her to last for 8 secs or more as long as she can consistently cast it on herself and for allies over 24 secs if Resonantia 5 is unlocked.

  • Thanks to Thorns converting generic DoT, her team will be more lenient when it comes to Soulstrike usage, as it will only scale from her; in that sense, you’ll just have to perfect Empousa [Blooming]’s Echo Blessings.

  • As a Piercing DMG, she can double her damage against shield, and ignore a certain portion of the target’s defence, additionally ignoring enemy effects such as M.DMG and P.DMG reduction.

Cons

  • Thorns can be easily dispelled with a cleansing skill, and have a long ramp-up time if she is used outside her Synergy Team.

  • Tile dependent to make the most out of her buffing.

Skill Investment

The numbers in the skill levels are placed in this order: Basic / Special / Ultimate. You can find more information about the colors in the section below.

Here's the explanation for all the numbers and colors used in the guide:

  • 10/5/7 means upgrading Basic to lvl 10, Special to lvl 5, and Ultimate to lvl 7,
  • Blue means the immediate investment when u get the unit (and are using them),
  • Orange means recommended investment for F2P players,
  • Red means maximum recommended investment, in order to get the best out of the unit.

More info:

  • The skill investment list below features a lot of Level 4 and 7 because they are easier to understand. Any higher levels will cost a new type of resource.
  • However, you may choose to upgrade to Level 5 if you need a stronger effect instead of 4, as the increase in Blue Manual cost from Level 4 to 5 is still low. The leap only starts from Level 6 onward.
  • There is also a leap from Level 3 to 4, so if you want to save a tiny bit of Blue Manuals, then leave at 3 instead of 4.

Priority explained:

  • Meta: Most important characters used everywhere.
  • High: Good in various PvE content.
  • Medium: Good in at least one PvE content.
  • Low: Can perform well in some PVE content, but they're niche.
  • PvP: These units are mainly used in PvP.

The Recommended and Flex stats listed below aren't placed in specific order. We may order them in the future once we have a better understanding of the damage formula, but currently the order does not matter.
