Merlin is a support with high uptime Freeze. Her Ultimate skill deals damage to all enemies and inflicts Frozen. Her Active Skill deals damage to all Frontline enemies and inflicts Frozen and at Transcendence 3 it reduces enemies Defense additionally. Her Great Magic Passive increases her Attack whereas her Storm Passive increases the entire team’s Critical Hit Rate.
Merlin is fantastic on all fronts - she has the rare Critical Hit Rate party buff, high Freeze uptime, and can even apply Defense shred. She is excellent at all stages of the game and is, alongside Tristan, one of the linchpins of the Healerless CC chain raid teams at the launch of the game. Even now, she still sees use because her Freeze comes in clutch at stopping otherwise team wiping boss attacks.
Merin’s Card Water Dragon’s Blessing can be used by Magic DPS. It provides a team wide Attack buff whereas its Stat Lines increase the user's Magic Attack and Magic Critical Hit Rate.
This is hands down one of the best Wizard Cards. Possessing both Magic Attack and Critical Hit Rate on top of a permanent team Attack buff makes it a staple card in every team.

Dupe Priority - Card > Transcend
Recommended Transcend - Transcend 5 (T3 unlocks her Defense shred on active skill, and Transcend 5 improves all scaling).

- Anessa - Merlin gives high freeze uptime, Critical Hit Rate and Defense shred which Anessa can easily capitalise off.

- Tristan - Paired with the Barisada weapon and a pet, can chain stun an enemy for long durations. Falling off in favour of more dangerous but high ceiling strats, but good to have for difficult boss fights.

- Water Dragon's Blessing (Merlin) - You know, it’s rare that we get to say that a character’s best card is her own card. But yes, self explanatory - General purpose Magic DPS card with a party wide Attack buff.
- Madness (Vivien) - General purpose Magic DPS card with a party wide Crit Dmg buff.
- Charm (Lilith) - Free Critical Hit Rate for the whole party. A Great card for any kind of Support.
