Should You Pull? (TLDR)

37 is a supportive carry that can be significantly improved by pulling her Portrays. You will also have to set up a specific type of team to use her well and a lot of her best partners are also 6-stars. If you can afford investing into her portrays she is worth pulling, but for the average F2P player she might not be - especially with 6 also approaching right after.

Just keep in mind that 37 is one of the best supports for Jiu Niangzi - the best DPS in the game and the first truly limited character in Reverse: 1999. So if you're planning to pull Jiu Niangzi once she arrives to Global, you might consider getting a single copy of 37.

Combat Role: Carry / Support

37 is a strong supportive Carry with a unique mechanic of gaining a stack of [Eureka] to unleash [Supplementary Formula], triggering a mass attack that deals 120% DMG, along with an additional 40% Genesis DMG. [Eureka] is acquired through any incantations, and if her allies have follow-up actions, she also gains a stack. While beneficial, having allies with follow-up attacks is necessary for optimal performance as Genesis DMG will be a significant part of her overall damage, making her less flexible compared to others. Her Insight III, Calculation of Genesis, increases the critical rate by 20% and allows Genesis DMG to cause crits, aligning her with crit-based characters.

Without being in a crit-based or follow-up based teams, she will likely underperform, but if the conditions are met, she should do extremely well. Getting into the specifics of her Ultimate and Incantations, as mentioned earlier, she gains Eureka from both her skills, and they both deal additional Genesis DMG. I'm pointing this out now to avoid redundancy. Her skill, "Triangulation,” is a simple single-target attack. Her other skill, “Curve Mapping,” is a Mass Attack that can hit up to two enemies and also grants her a stack of [Sturdiness].

Now, moving on to what makes her not only a good carry but also a strong supportive choice is her Buff Ultimate, which can be considered similar to Pickles. Her ultimate, “Kingdom of Geometry,” is a mass buff that gives all allies two layers of [Numeral Perception]. This increases all allies' attacks by 10% two times, and she gains two stacks of [Enlightenment] for herself. This effect boosts her next incantation damage by 100% and adds two stacks of [Eureka] to herself.

Lastly, she's part of the latest trend of characters that significantly benefit from Portrays. At P3, for example, her ultimate’s Eureka gain becomes three, and at P5, she can gain Eureka even faster—now obtaining four stacks from her ultimate, a substantial increase. However, achieving P5 or even P3 for a 6-star character is very challenging for F2P players, so don’t feel like you have to. Succeeding with her doesn't require Portrays, but it's worth mentioning.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • She has a strong Mass Buff that can boost the whole team’s DMG.
  • She gains [Eureka] at a fairly consistent rate and even faster with Portrays making her Genesis DMG against the enemy quite significant.
  • Her insight 3, makes her a perfect choice for Crit Teams, as she naturally boosts the crit rate just by being there, and also allows Genesis DMG from any incantations to cause crits.
  • In actual gameplay, she is fairly simple to use, as both of her skills, aside from gaining [Eureka] or in one case [Sturdiness], just deal simple damage, and the [Eureka] gain should easily come as you use her.
Cons

  • Dependency on Follow-Up and Crit-Based Teams, as she would likely underperform when not in those teams.
  • Unfortunately, she is one of the characters who are significantly improved via her Portrays. So, if you're someone who wants to play the character at their full power, at P0, you will be missing out. However, even at P0, 37 will still do just fine for most content.

Portrays

Unlike the majority of characters in the game, 37’s portrays are quite significant.

Portray 3 and 5 are the most notable as they increase your Eureka gain, which is a huge part of 37’s whole kit, so if you really want to maximize and have the best 37 possible. Those are rather major. But she still is a pretty good character without them, just quite better if you do have it.

Portrays and damage scaling

To better illustrate how impactful the Portray are on 37, here's a chart that compares her damage output to other damage dealers in the game - both in 1-target and 3-target scenarios (just keep in mind, those are simulations and they always use a lot of assumptions - in-game the combat and its randomness changes things):

1-target
1-target DPS Sims
3-target
3-target DPS Sims

And here's 37 damage scaling graph, showcasing just her (and including a 2-target scenario on top of the previous ones):

Great Synergies

37 works great with teammates who have follow-ups to help stack up Eureka and those that can provide crits.

Unfortunately, the majority of the characters that work well with her are mostly 6 stars if you want to fully unlock her potential. Currently, the only characters with follow-ups that would really complement her are Newbabel, Lilya, and Kaala Baunaa in the Global version. The issue of higher rarity also applies to future compatibility for 37, as she is one of the best supports you can have in a team with an upcoming character named Jiu Niangzi, who is once again a 6-star character. Upcoming characters that support her, such as Ezra and 6, are also 6 stars.

Here are the best Psychubes you can use on 37:

Teams

MATH CLASS [STANDARD]

TEAM EXPLANATION
  • 37 capitalizes off of the extra action on Lilya’s “Crosswind Takeoff” ability to quickly stack up her [Eureka] buff and trigger the [Supplementary Formula] attack as often as possible.
  • Exploits Tooth Fairy’s powerful -Crit Resist, -Crit DEF and [Confusion] debuffs to basically guarantee any decently built Crit Carry landing crits when they need to deal damage.
  • The team is kept safe by Tooth Fairy’s potent healing via “Lullaby”, Insight 3 and the team-wide cleansing on her Ultimate.
  • If the team lacks defensive power, bringing NewBabel into the mix instead of Lilya will help with survivability, albeit at the cost of the team’s overall damage output. In exchange, with how NewBabel functions, she can also help charge [Supplementary Formula] faster.
  • You really can’t go wrong with either variation of the team, it more so hangs on how comfortable you are swapping between the defensive and ap-generous Regulus and the more aggressive Lilya (especially because Lilya provides no real support).

If you do not own Tooth Fairy, practically any healer will do as there’s a lot of overlap in the role, Tooth Fairy is just considered optimal for her high-uptime crit debuffs.
  • The team is kept safe by Tooth Fairy’s potent healing via “Lullaby”, Insight 3 and the team-wide cleansing on her Ultimate. In addition, if Baby Blue is used, her AoE [Nightmare] can help lock enemies down for a calmer turn (assuming you don’t immediately hit them out of the debuff).
  • For a few budget options you can look towards Twins Sleep or Baby Blue, both of whom synergize with Mental DMG (and in the case of Twins, also Crit) to help 37 function and puncture through high Mental DEF enemies (though it isn’t a perfect synergy due to the Genesis DMG).
  • You really can’t go wrong with either variation of the team, it more so hangs on how comfortable you are swapping between the debuff based Baby Blue/Twins and the more aggressive Lilya (especially because Lilya provides no real support).
