Review
Arabella is a 5-Star Instinct Striker Combatant who dominates the battlefield, torturing their enemies with Malice. Arabella is also the 3rd limited combatant, meaning they cannot be acquired via the standard banner once their banner ends.
Arabella’s playstyle is based around inflicting the “Fracture” debuff. “Fracture” is a debuff that activates during the end of the turn dealing damage for each “Fracture” the enemy is affected by. Arabella brings the ability to bypass the standard activation window for “Fracture” and ‘detonate’ them to deal upfront burst damage. Arabella can easily inflict “Fracture” to all enemies, further enhancing her already solid AoE damage.
Arabella has multiple different sources of damage in their kit that have varying different damage values, because of this - when deciding on what supporting units to pair with Arabella will depend on the deck that you’re planning on playing. “Fracture” deals one instance of damage whenever it triggers, as “Fracture”s damage value ramps quite quickly, seeking out combatants or buffs that offer multiplicative damage buffs will be valuable if you’re planning on triggering “Fracture” as many times per turn as possible. Additive Damage buffs can still be very beneficial to Arabella too, as many of her attacks are multi-targetting and also multi-hit, Arabella can still leverage these buffs extremely well.
Great AoE damage.
Great DoT damage
Good Self-Draw options
Unable to deal Weakness Attack on her Fracture damage which is where a large portion of her damage comes from.
Can be very AP-expensive to play
Lacks ways to buff Fracture significantly
Single-Target damage not as good as her AoE damage.
The ratings below are based on the Season Save Data, Chaos Manifestation, and Great Rift modes. Each of the modes values different mechanics, so some characters may shine in one of them, while being underwhelming in the other.
Arabella’s goal is to inflict “Fracture” as much as possible on their enemies and triggering it via their “Hollow Verdict” or “Sadistic Restraint” cards to deal its damage upfront, instead of waiting until the end of the turn for it to activate.
Fracture - Fracture is a stacking debuff that stacks up to a maximum of 30 times. Fracture activates at the end of the turn - dealing 40% DoT Damage for each stack of Fracture on that enemy, when activated it will decrease “Fracture” stacks by half..
Fracture Amplification - Fracture Amplification is a debuff that is applied to enemy units, whenever “Fracture” is inflicted to any enemy unit - the unit that is currently affected by “Fracture Amplification” is also given a stack of “Fracture”. If there is only 1 enemy, applies 2 “Fracture” instead and increases Arabella’s “Fracture” damage amount by 20%. “Fracture Amplification” can only affect 1 enemy unit at a time.
CRIT RATE% = CRIT DMG% >= Unique Card DMG% > Common Card DMG% = Basic Card DMG%
3-1: Arabella’s 3-1 Potential improves their starting Basic-Attack Card. Granting it to inflict 1 Fracture to all enemies. Provides a nice boost to Arabella’s early power when in Chaos/Sortie but unutilized in Save Data content.
5-1: Arabella’s 5-1 Potential improves upon their Basic-Attack Card again, increasing the damage dealt by an additional +5% and a further 5% when Arabella’s attack is 500 or higher. Again, only useful in Chaos/Sortie.
7: Arabella’s 7 Potential grants Arabella +5% Instinct-Attribute Damage when their Attack Stat is 600 or higher. For every 20 Attack past 600 - grants an additional +2% to this modifier up to a maximum of +10%. Provides a very nice damage boost to Arabella and should be invested in as soon as possible.

Gear
The Memory Fragments & Equipment suggestions below are based on calculations we did. If you want to check the damage formula and how scaling the damage works in CZN, check this guide.
One of the few characters who can make full use of the set, getting a hefty 25% Crit-DMG to all hits and an extra 15% for Fracture hits.
2/2/2 is always a flexible and high recommendation for DPS, with Arabella being no exception. Because Fracture lacks a lot of ways to buff it and it has good base ratios on its hits, the Agony 2p (Cursed Corpse) actually gets rather considerable value and makes it closer to Sanguine, especially if lacking certain assumed buffs like Claim's 35% mult for DoT damage.
In a lot of cases, flat sub-stats are better than percentage ones when it comes to HP, ATK and DEF. The reason behind this is that in CZN the characters stats are pretty low and you get more value from flat bonus rather than percentage one based on calcs.
DoT DMG% => CRIT DMG% > CRIT Rate% > ATK > ATK%
Maxing out Arabella's potential 7 is the main stat breakpoint to watch out for. Fortunately, it's incredibly easy to do so, and all you need is 700 ATK, which almost all Arabella builds can accomplish.
Our best Partner recommendation try to balance both the raw damage boost they provide based on our calculations with the additional utility provided by the skill - combined with how it interacts with the character's kit. We have rated each Partner based on how much additional damage and the utility they provide. Read the comments under each Partner to better understand our reasoning.
No calculations in Chaos Zero Nightmare are completely accurate for all scenarios, including the ones below. What team, decks, epiphanies, gear, equipment, and enemies you're facing all impact them. Because of this, take the results as guidelines and combine them with the explanations to make your decisions. Calculations use endgame save data set-ups, including 5 turns of combat using the whole deck with all Ego skills unless otherwise stated.
Licinia is a limited partner with an extremely strong effect that can only, currently, be activated by Arabella alone. At full value at E4, Licinia multiplies your end damage by 32% (although a bit less if Vulnerable is applied) AND gives 20% Crit-Rate, for ALL hits. This is incredibly strong and is why Licinia represents one of the biggest damage increases of a Partner in the entire game, with refines.
Licinia is a limited partner with an extremely strong effect that can only, currently, be activated by Arabella alone. At full value at E0, Licinia multiplies your end damage by 16% (although a bit less if Vulnerable is applied) AND gives 10% Crit-Rate, for ALL hits. This is incredibly strong and is why Licinia represents one of the biggest damage increases for Arabella that can be acquired.
Scarlet represents the 'best' of the off-role Standard 5-star Striker Partners. Assuming Scarlet's passive is active in Arabella's recommended build, while it's undoubtedly behind Licinia in strength, it's still a substantial increase over true F2P alternatives for damage.
If you're a light-spender, Priscilla is certainly an acceptable choice for the stats. While max-refine Priscilla will be behind other options, the main benefit of refining BP partners is they are typically close to E0 5-star Partners at max refine, so you'll always have the option to use Priscilla for other units just for the baseline strength of her stats.
Despite being a 4-star and more or less F2P friendly option, Ritochka is completely usable compared to some of the less optimized options like Priscilla or Scarlet; however, she certainly pales in comparison to Licinia.
A max-refine 3-star is the baseline assumption for a new character's damage, Douglas represents this baseline; hence, the 100% benchmark.
In the Zero System, it's incredibly easy to access all items acquirable via the shopthanks to the two free refreshes you get each shop node - that's why the recommendations below are limited to them only. ATTENTION! Area-specific items can sometimes be more powerful than shop items, but are far less consistent to get or require running a specific world or giving up certain event options. Use the shop list as a starting point for building up your deck saves.
