Requires an ally to enable the Stellar Swirl reaction for her
Mizuki is a 5 star Anemo Catalyst character most commonly played as an on-field Stellar Swirl DPS. Her core gameplay loop simply consists of enabling her kit with the reaction itself to then make use of her Skill state, where she automatically deals direct Stellar Swirl damage to enemies.
Stellar Swirl is a reaction that replaces Cryo Swirl when certain characters are on the team, activating Radiance: Stellar Swirl effects for 8 seconds when triggered. It also deals Anemo Stellar Swirl reaction damage to the target and creates a “Level 1” Vortex; this Vortex levels up after Stellar Swirl is triggered two additional times, exploding after 3 seconds or 5 additional Stellar Swirl triggers to deal Cryo Stellar Swirl reaction damage based on the Vortex’s level. A large jump can be performed just after the Vortex explodes, though this is generally impractical to use.
Similar to other damaging reactions, Stellar damage scales with Elemental Mastery, reaction damage bonuses, ignores DEF, and does not benefit from standard DMG% - unlike typical reactions, it can also CRIT. Stellar Swirl damage from reactions also takes into account the level and stats of all characters who contributed to triggering reaction based on their damage dealt to the enemy: 60% of the stats of the strongest participant, 30% of the second, and 5% for the third and fourth. Direct Stellar damage is considered to be of the element of the unit dealing it and is based on the multiplier and the scaling stat listed in the ability instead of level.
Mizuki’s Skill and the Dreamdrifter state it bestows serve as the central focus of her kit. By default, this increases all Swirl DMG dealt by allies based on Mizuki’s EM; she additionally floats around while periodically dealing Anemo DMG to enemies, which can be enhanced every 2.5 seconds when Mizuki triggers a Swirl to gain an EM-scaling multiplier. Radiance: Stellar Swirl allows her to extend these effects to the new reaction, increasing ally Stellar Swirl DMG and allowing her enhanced periodic damage to deal a powerful additional instance of direct Stellar Swirl DMG.
While the Skill’s 5 second duration can seem disappointing, her first Ascension Passive handily remedies this: she can now double this duration simply by triggering 2 Swirls or Stellar Swirls, which was a part of Mizuki’s gameplan regardless. The second Ascension Passive is an effective but brief 100 EM stat buff for 4 seconds, applied when Mizuki’s teammates hit enemies with an attack from a Swirlable element. Together, they simply reiterate the importance of having consistent off-field Cryo application for Mizuki to Swirl off of.
Mizuki’s Burst is less noteworthy, but packs nice utility by creating snacks every 1.5 seconds at the location of the nearest enemy. These snacks heal characters that pick them up if below 70% HP, while dealing Anemo damage to enemies if at above 70% HP or if left for too long; Mizuki can collect these effortlessly while in Dreamdrifter due to the snacks gaining an increased pickup radius and Mizuki’s own damage being automatic. This allows her to keep herself and the team healthy.
Rounding off her base kit are her Normal Attacks, which are unremarkable and barely ever used — especially since Dreamdrifter state locks her out of using them entirely!
Finally, as a standard character, Mizuki’s Constellations are relatively easily accessible - in Mizuki’s case, they are also reasonably powerful! Her C1 allows her to deal additional damage instances based on her EM when triggering Swirls every 3.5 seconds; these use a lower multiplier but deal Stellar Swirl DMG when Mizuki has Radiance: Stellar Swirl, resulting in much higher overall damage. Her C2 then packs a valuable 20% RES Shred for Anemo and all Swirlable elements, while providing a DMG% buff for the latter based on her EM. These both serve as good increases that are worth targeting. C4 is then less notable due to focusing on her Burst, with snacks now able to restore up to 20 Energy per Burst while allowing them to heal and deal damage simultaneously. However, C6 brings things right back: it allows Swirls to CRIT with a fixed 30% CRIT chance and 100% CRIT DMG, increases the CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG of Stellar Swirl damage dealt by allies by 10% and 20% each, then gives even more CRIT on top of that for Mizuki herself based on her EM! This last bonus caps out at a whopping 20% CRIT Rate and 80% CRIT DMG at 1000 EM, and is well worth building for when obtained.
Mizuki’s gameplay is as easy as it comes for an on-fielder, simply needing to use her Skill and float around to output almost all her damage onto the enemy. Her Burst should ideally be used within her Skill duration so as to not extend the rotation from its cast time.
Gilded DreamsMizuki’s best option if an ally can hold Viridescent Venerer, which typically tends to be the case.
Viridescent VenererA strong option for overall team damage due to its RES Shred while remaining good for Mizuki’s own damage; however, Mizuki often runs with other Anemo units who can make use of this set.
Scarlet ProofWhile the 2pc effect does little for Mizuki, the potent 4pc bonus makes it a close contender to Gilded Dreams.

C60.6%Mizuki must be partnered with a character that can enable Stellar Swirl in order to access her buffs - currently, Odette and Cryo Traveler are the only synergistic options to do so. She then typically runs a second Cryo teammate for Cryo Resonance and Cryo aura uptime; her final teammate typically chosen for the buffs they can grant her, provided that they do not interfere with Cryo aura uptime.
