Great Sub-DPS damage
Top tier unit for enabling and buffing Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl
Isn’t bothered about premium Weapons
Naturally not particularly useful outside of Stellar compositions
Odette is a 5-star Cryo Sword character most commonly played as a Sub-DPS and support for Stellar reaction teams. She applies Cryo and deals consistent damage through the summon created by her Skill or Burst, which allow her to use a more powerful nuke Skill.
Stellar-Conduct is a reaction that replaces Superconduct when certain characters are on the team. It deals no damage when triggered, instead spawning a Starlight Prism which generates a Polestar Field around it. This applies the 40% Physical RES Shred from the base reaction while also activating Radiance: Stellar-Conduct effects in kit. It additionally provides a DMG Bonus for the Electro and Cryo DMG and a Base Reaction Coefficient for direct Stellar-Conduct damage based on a tally which counts whenever these elements are applied; this starts at 29% and 1.45 at one stack, and increase by 1% and 0.05 to a maximum of 40% and 2 respectively. These bonuses are granted every 4 seconds, with the tally beginning anew each time.
Stellar Swirl meanwhile replaces Cryo Swirl, and activates Radiance: Stellar Swirl effects when triggered. It also deals Anemo Stellar Swirl reaction damage to the target and creates a “Level 1” Vortex; this Vortex levels up after Stellar Swirl is triggered two additional times, exploding after 3 seconds or 5 additional Stellar Swirl triggers to deal Cryo Stellar Swirl reaction damage based on the Vortex’s level. A large jump can be performed just after the Vortex explodes, though this is generally impractical to use. Note that if both Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl are triggered by the team, Radiance: Stellar-Conduct will take priority.
Similar to other damaging reactions, Stellar damage scales with EM, reaction damage bonuses, ignores DEF, and does not benefit from standard DMG% - unlike typical reactions, it can also CRIT. Stellar Swirl damage from reactions also takes into account the level and stats of all characters who contributed to triggering reaction based on their damage dealt to the enemy: 60% of the stats of the strongest participant, 30% of the second, and 5% for the third and fourth. Direct Stellar damage is considered to be of the element of the unit dealing it and is based on the multiplier and the scaling stat listed in the ability instead of level, with Stellar-Conduct damage additionally being multiplied by the Base Reaction Coefficient.
Odette’s Passive enables reactions to be converted to their Stellar variants and boosts its Base DMG based on her ATK, reaching the cap of 14% at 2000 ATK. This is a separate multiplier to Reaction DMG and Base Reaction Coefficient. Since Odette’s kit buffs Stellar damage and relies on the reactions to deal the corresponding direct Stellar damage through her Radiance effects, this review will assume she is played on a Stellar reaction team.
To that end, Odette’s Skill is the centrepiece of her kit. Using it summons her “Dance Double” for 20 seconds, which deals consistent Stellar damage and applies Cryo by alternating between the “Wing” and “Plume” dance moves. Summoning her Dance Double also allows her to use her special Skill once in the following 6 seconds, which has its own independent 15 second cooldown and is a simple nuke that deals Stellar damage. Her Burst mostly functions as an extension of her Skill, also summoning her Dance Double in the same manner as the above - the only distinction between them is the longer cast time and 50% Stellar Reaction DMG buff Odette grants herself for 20 seconds.
Her Ascension Passives play into this, with her first Ascension Passive granting herself 4 stacks of “Marvelous Splendor” when summoning a Dance Double for its duration. These increase Stellar Reaction DMG by 15% each, and she can take full advantage of them while she remains on-field for her special Skill cast; when swapped off-field, she gradually loses 1 stack a second on herself to provide allies with one stack each. Her second Ascension Passive is far simpler, offering a unique increase to her Stellar damage based on her ATK - this increase caps out at 3000 ATK on Odette, allowing her to deal 130% of her original Stellar damage.
Finally, her Normal Attacks are unremarkable and generally never used.
The notation used to refer to combat inputs in this section will be as follows:
Odette’s gameplay mostly involves summoning her Dance Double so that it can apply Cryo and provide buffs for the team, while in most cases making use of her subsequent Skill nuke to allow her to contribute substantially to the team’s damage. The various combos for this are detailed below.
EE
Her default combo, taking minimal field time while delivering most of her damage and buffs without issue. Note that her Skill casts can be separated if needed as long as they are used within 6 seconds of each other; this causes her to lose most of her Ascension 1 Passive buff on herself, but allows it to stack up for the team while still allowing her nuke fully benefit from the party’s buffs.
QE
Can be used if Burst is available over the above, improving her own damage thanks to its self-buff. However, this does not fully stack her signature, and the longer cast time means it may not be worth it if it would extend the rotation and she is significantly outdamaged.
EQE
Allows her to use her Burst while fully stacking her signature, but takes even longer to perform and so only is only worth it if there is significant downtime in the rotation.
Whitelake FrostfeatherR1107%DPS - Team146%DPS - SoloOdette’s best option, albeit not by a significant margin over other options. Its energy generation can help access her Burst, though her Burst itself is rarely especially valuable.
EmberwellR5102%DPS - Team117%DPS - SoloOdette’s best F2P option and close to her premium weapons when its Passive can be triggered; however, since it requires Odette to be the reaction trigger, it does not work on Stellar Swirl teams and can be tricky to use on some Stellar-Conduct teams as well.
Finale of the DeepR5102%DPS - Team114%DPS - SoloAn excellent generalist option, performing similarly to the above when Odette can be healed while still performing well otherwise.
Heart of the FurnaceOdette’s best option in most circumstances, being good for her own damage while being able to effortlessly maintain the team buff.
Disenchantment in Deep ShadowOdette’s best option for personal damage on Stellar-Conduct teams, though is only worthwhile if a better Heart of the Furnace holder is on the team.
Tenacity of the MillelithA niche option if Odette is significantly outdamaged and there is a better Heart of the Furnace holder on the team.
