Foreword

As the Conductor, not only you have to transport passengers and trade goods across cities, but you also have to prepare yourself for combat. Team building revolves around setups of 5 crew members and always requires a synergistic approach in a way you can easily cycle your cards, be efficient on using your costs (Energy) and playing around specific mechanics (Burn, Lighting, Freezing, Shields, Shuffling cards etc.). If you want to learn more about what Resonance Solstice’s combat has to offer, check out our Combat 101 guide.

Core Mechanics of Team Building

Rarity
Image

Crew members are divided by their rarity: SSR, SR, R, and N. You can earn crew members by recruiting them through the Recruit Tab (Gacha Summon) or by finishing a specific story quest line(s). What’s surprising about Resonance Solstice is that, despite the Crew Member's rarity, a lot of the non-SSR units are still used in the endgame due to their cards, unlike other gacha games where SR or below rarity characters are benched more often than not. So, do consider using some lower rarity crew members when building a team; they are really useful.

Leader (Captain)
Image

In a crew, there are 5 members and only one can be appointed as a Leader; this option can be found in the crew setup. When a character becomes a Leader, their Ultimate Card is removed from the Deck pool and turns into a Leader Skill that can be activated once “Requirements” are met; it is found on the bottom-right of the screen when in-combat.

Most Leader Skills have different requirements to be activated, so make sure you check them before you appoint the leader of your crew. A lot of decks are built around these conditions, too. You can check our Teams Database for more information.

Synergy
Image

Crew member cards offer different effects, cost to be played, and some require specific debuffs/buffs to work. For teams to function well, you also have to understand card synergies.

For example, if the Crew Member has [Slash], which deals more damage if the target has [Chill] or [Freeze], you might want to bring another crew member that can do either of those to make your crew member with[Slash] deal more damage. There are also Crew Members who can generate Black cards to be used as fuel for other cards, so keep those in mind as well, since some decks are built around Black cards.

Class Diversity and Roles
Image

Crew members are divided into 4 categories: Offense, Defense, Support and Healing. Make sure to bring at least 1 Defense and 1 Healer to make sure your team survives. Running 5 Offense/DPS crew members won’t help you in the long run. Most characters follow the role they have, but like any gacha game, some will go outside their niche and have multiple functionalities, so make sure you check their cards before randomly adding units to your crew.

Export and Import of Teams

Image

One of the coolest features the game has to offer is its Export and Import system. With this system, you can share your teams through an export button, which will create and copy a link to your clipboard that can be used to be imported into different accounts or have it saved for future imports. By clicking import, you can instantly copy any crew setup that other users are sharing.

You can also use this functionality as a template, since it will not import characters or items you don’t have, meaning you can import a team with a few units you have and build your own deck based on that. We have preset teams for a lot of units based on the current meta, so feel free to browse our Team Database.

An example of how to build a Basic Team

For this example, we are going to use the

Nayuta Furnace Engine Core preset team. The general idea of this team is to apply as many stacks of [Ignite] as possible, which can get over 100 stacks if you can manage to cycle consistently with manual play or proper automation.

This is why we are running

Nayuta,
Valentine
Valentine
,
Rina Von
Rina Von
,
Kaleya
Kaleya
and
Fenia
Fenia
. This is a very cheap and basic team that only requires Nayuta as SSR character. Below is an explanation on how their cards work.

Team Code

This team utilizes

Nayuta's' Leader Skill Enigma to reshuffle Red Cards and potentially get Flame: Integrate card, which can apply [Ignite] to all enemies in the field. With that in mind, we have
Fenia
Fenia
and
Valentine
Valentine
as the Red Card generators along with their Red cards.
Valentine
Valentine
has a Yellow Card that enables Leader Skill instantly, while
Fenia
Fenia
has a Yellow Card that draws cards when discarded. . She also acts as a Sub-DPS, pretty much clearing waves on her own thanks to her DPS cards.

Next, we have

Rina Von as our main tank; she absorbs damage and redirects it when you cast Reversal. Her Ultimate can also grant [Unbreakable Shield] to all allies for 3 seconds, which can be extended if you generate Black Cards, and that is possible thanks to Nayuta’s reshuffle and
Valentine
Valentine
’s [Ash] generation.

Lastly, we have

Kaleya, a healer and an [Ignite] Buffer. She heals the lowest HP ally by deploying a drone. While this drone is active, it also ignites a random enemy. As for her Ultimate, she creates an Oxygen-Rich Environment, which in turn makes all fire-related status effects deal double damage, making her deal the most personal damage on this team, especially during bossing.

Although this team is made for Engine Core Upgrade, you can still use them for general combat situations.
