Mechanism Dominion
The Mechanism Dominion state lasts 13s.
While this state is active, Basic Attack - Illumining Form is replaced with Basic Attack - Illumining Form: Pillars Aligned, and Dodge Counter - Illumining Form is replaced with Dodge Counter - Illumining Form: Pillars Aligned.
When Basic Attack - Illumining Form: Pillars Aligned or Dodge Counter - Illumining Form: Pillars Aligned hits a target, Illumining Heart is consumed if Hsin is the active Resonator.
Exiting Mechanism Dominion clears Illumining Heart.
While in Resonance Mode - Unison, Hsin gains the following effects:
Hsin can trigger Unison Response, but not in Co-op Mode.
After casting Intro Skill - Answering Form or Intro Skill - Answering Form: Manifold Unison, the next Resonance Liberation - Formshift grants Hsin Unison for 5s.
When Hsin triggers Unison Response, She gains Source Intent, and the Intro Skill cast this time is replaced with Intro Skill - Manifold Unison, dealing greater DMG.
When Hsin casts an Intro Skill without triggering Unison Response while holding Source Intent, She consumes Source Intent instead, and the Intro Skill is replaced with Intro Skill - Manifold Unison, dealing greater DMG.
The effects on Hsin mentioned above are removed when Hsin switches Resonance Mode.
Casting Intro Skill - Illumining Form or Intro Skill - Illumining Form: Manifold Unison sends Hsin directly into the Mechanism Dominion state.
While in Resonance Mode - Electro Flare, Hsin gains the following effects:
When Hsin enters combat, targets within a certain range do not lose Electro Flare stacks when it's triggered.
After Resonators in the team inflict Electro Rage to a target, every 1 stack of Electro Rage inflicted grants Hsin 1 stack of Heart of Thunder, stacking up to 100 times, and consumes all Electro Rage stacks from that target. Heart of Thunder is removed when Hsin switches Resonance Mode.
At the last stage of Resonance Skill - Heartward by Moon, Hsin actively triggers 1 instance of Electro Flare DMG on the targets. Its DMG Multiplier is equal to 35% x (the number of Heart of Thunder stacks on Hsin) x (the Electro Flare DMG Multiplier corresponding to the target's current Electro Flare stacks).
While casting Resonance Skill - Heartward by Moon, switching to another Resonator or ending the skill early will end the above effects early.
Some time after casting Resonance Skill - Heartward by Moon, Hsin consumes all remaining stacks of Heart of Thunder.
When Hsin has at least 50 stacks of Heart of Thunder, Resonance Skill - Illumining Form stagnates nearby targets during the action.
After casting Resonance Liberation - Formshift, inflict 5 stacks of Electro Flare on nearby targets within a certain range. It also makes Basic Attack - Illumining Form: Pillars Aligned or Dodge Counter - Illumining Form: Pillars Aligned inflict Electro Flare on hit targets, up to 5 times. Casting Resonance Liberation - Formshift again resets this count. Switching Resonance Mode removes it.
Resonance Skill - Illumining Form: Pillars Aligned and Heavy Attack - Illumining Form: Stilling All Horizons inflict 5 stacks of Electro Flare on the target hit. Intro Skill - Illumining Form, Intro Skill - Answering Form, and Heavy Attack - Answering Form: Realm Protector inflict 1 stack of Electro Flare on the target hit.
While Hsin is in Resonance Mode - Unison with Unison, switching to another Resonator will remove Hsin's Unison to trigger Hsin's Outro Skill and the incoming Resonator's Intro Skill. If Hsin has full Concerto Energy and Unison at the same time, only Unison is consumed to trigger the effect.
While Hsin is in Resonance Mode - Unison and the active Resonator in the team has Unison, Hsin triggers Unison Response when She is switched in and casts Intro Skill, granting 1 stack of Unison Boon to all Resonators in the team for 30s.
Hsin can only grant up to 1 stack of Unison Boon in this way.
Only the Resonators who can trigger Unison Reponse can gain this effect. Each stack of Unison Boon increases the total DMG dealt by Resonators who can trigger Unison Response in the team by 3%, stacking up to 2 times.
Can hold up to 100 points of Answering Heart.
While in Answering Form, when Normal Attack - Answering Form, Resonance Skill - Answering Form, Intro Skill - Answering Form, or Intro Skill - Answering Form: Manifold Unison hits a target, Hsin gains Answering Heart if She is the active Resonator.
Casting Intro Skill - Answering Form or Intro Skill - Answering Form: Manifold Unison grants 60 points of Answering Heart.
Can hold up to 300 points of Illumining Heart.
While in Illumining Form and not in the Mechanism Dominion state, when Normal Attack - Illumining Form, or Resonance Skill - Illumining Form hits a target, Hsin gains Illumining Heart if She is the active Resonator.
While in Resonance Mode - Unison, casting Intro Skill - Illumining Form or Intro Skill - Illumining Form: Manifold Unison directly sends Hsin into the Mechanism Dominion state and grants 300 points of Illumining Heart.
While in Resonance Mode - Electro Flare, after casting Resonance Liberation - Formshift, when the Modular Heartlock generated by Basic Attack - Illumining Form Stage 1 is collapsed by Basic Attack - Illumining Form Stage 2, Heavy Attack - Illumining Form, Dodge Counter - Illumining Form, or Resonance Skill - Illumining Form, gain 150 points of Illumining Heart if Hsin is the active Resonator. This effect can only be triggered once before the next cast of Resonance Liberation - Formshift resets it, and is disabled when switched to the other Resonance Mode.
Tune Break: Rectifier
When the target's Off-Tune Level is full, the Resonator may cast Tune Break on the target.
Tides of Succession
While in Resonance Mode - Unison, when Hsin casts Intro Skill - Answering Form: Manifold Unison or Intro Skill - Illumining Form: Manifold Unison, Her ATK is increased by 50% for 8s. Switching to another Resonator or Resonance Mode ends this effect.
While in Resonance Mode - Electro Flare, after Resonators in the team inflict Electro Flare, Hsin gains 25% Electro DMG Bonus, stacking up to 2 times. Each Resonator can trigger this effect only once. In addition, if Rover: Electro is in the same team, when Rover: Electro casts Intro Skill - Thunderous Fury, both Hsin and Rover: Electro gain 20% Electro DMG Bonus for 30s.
This effect resets when a Resonator is added to the team or when Hsin switches Resonance Mode.
Gleaning Simple Joys
While in Resonance Mode - Unison, the maximum stacks of the Unison Boon effect on Resonators in the team are increased by 1. When a Resonator in the team triggers Unison Response, all Resonators in the team gain 1 stack of Unison Boon for 30s. This effect does not stack.
While in Resonance Mode - Electro Flare and Hsin is not in the Heart Manifest state, Hsin gains 1 stack of Thunderglow after Resonators in the team other than Hsin inflict Electro Flare, stacking up to 10 times.
While Hsin is in the Heart Manifest state, when targets within a certain range have 0 stacks of Electro Flare, inflict 1 stack of Electro Flare on the targets. If Thunderglow on Hsin reaches the stack limit, Hsin also inflicts Fleeting Thunder on the targets:
When Hsin inflicts Fleeting Thunder on the target, She also inflicts Electro Flare on the target to the stack limit, up to 16 stacks of Electro Flare.
When Fleeting Thunder is active, if the maximum stacks of Electro Flare on the target are increased, Hsin will inflict Electro Flare on the target to the stack limit again, up to 16 stacks of Electro Flare.
Fleeting Thunder will be removed when the target leaves the designated range around Hsin.
Exiting the Heart Manifest state or switching Resonance Mode removes the effects mentioned above.

Review
Please keep in mind Wuthering Waves is a skill-based game and each character has a different playstyle, difficulty level and even special tricks and combos. Wuthering Waves is also a team based game and it's only by combining both these factors to the highest level a character can reach optimal performance.
The current best Electro DPS, one of the very best Whimpering Wastes DPS with huge AoE’s;
Has access to very F2P-friendly team compositions in Flare mode - will essentially never be stranded for teammates, even for beginners. Plus, probably the single best F2P WhiWa DPS in the game;
Unison is an easy upgrade path from Flare at higher investments, able to make use of Shorekeeper and Verina really well while retaining top performance.
One of the biggest Signature to permanent weapon gaps in the game. Limited weapon alternatives aren’t good in Unison mode either. Generally just pull Hsin’s Signature if you want to get her, results will not be up to par with the rest of the meta otherwise;
Pretty underwhelming Sequences in Flare mode aside from her S6 - has standard Sequence values in Unison mode though.
Hsin is a 5-star Electro Rectifier Main DPS who plays into the Electro Flare archetype and a (sort of) brand new one, Unison. Electro Flare is one of the many Negative Statuses, and all of them have received significant attention meta-wise recently. However, Unison is a previously forgotten mechanic only Jinhsi possessed up until now, that involves your character doing 2 Outros per rotation: Unison gives one for free, and your Concerto gauge gives you the other. In the same vein as how Jinhsi plays, this creates more unique team rotations compared to the usual. With that being said, Hsin’s kit has many complex elements based on her Resonance Mode, so we’ll have to go in-depth to fully understand it.
Hsin has 3 states that she will switch between during battle throughout her rotation: Answering Form, Illumining Form, and Mechanism Dominion. In Answering Form, you build up the Forte required to switch to Illumining Form, then in that form, you build up the Forte that is required to enter Mechanism Dominion, at which point you consume said Forte to then unleash Hsin’s final Ultimate. Pretty straightforward idea.
However, we can go a bit more in-depth on the details here, based on Hsin’s resonance mode. They fundamentally change how she will rotate and what kinds of synergies she will get.
In Electro Flare mode, Hsin will perform a standard 1-2-3 team rotation like in any classic team you’ve previously played, so she’ll do her on-field rotation fully until her Outro is ready and all her key abilities have been cast. Flare mechanics work in this way:
Electro Flare stacks normally get consumed every time the instance of periodic damage it should deal is triggered. When Hsin is on the team, this is not the case. Instead, Hsin will have any extra Electro Flare stacks over the stack limit (10 at base) converted into Heart of Thunder instead of Electro Rage, to then unleash a detonation of its damage in one Skill.
Electro Flare is applied by: Her first Ultimate, Forte Skill, her Basics after her Forte Skill, and her second Forte Heavy (5 stacks each), as well as her Intro (1 stack).
Once Hsin casts her first Ultimate, she will apply 1 stack of Electro Flare to enemies who have none. If another teammate applies at least 10 Flare, Hsin stores this information and raises the Flare count up to the max instead. These effects apply to all nearby enemies until her rotation ends.
Hsin gains extra Electro DMG Bonus when another character in the team applies Electro Flare onto enemies, with an extra boost if that character is Electro Rover.
In Unison mode, Hsin rotates quite differently. Unison provides her with a free Outro once every 25s when her first Ultimate is cast, at the cost of no Concerto energy. Other mechanics include:
Hsin increases the DMG of all Unison Response characters, including herself, by stacking up a unique buff (somewhat similar to Tune Strain) called Unison Boon. This buff is given when Unison Response characters perform Intros with each other;
Hsin can entirely skip the Illumining Form state and go straight into Mechanism Dominion if she Intros again after her First Ultimate;
Hsin’s Intros are enhanced if they are triggered by another Unison character and they give Hsin 50% more ATK for 8s.
In other words, you are heavily incentivized to use Unison mode with and only with other Unison characters. To add to this, Hsin’s Outro gives 20% DMG amplification to other characters in the team than herself, but only to Electro DMG (Electro Flare mode) or Unison characters (Unison mode).
Hence, we can conclude Hsin’s rotation will have her stacking up her Forte gauges (which she can only do while she is active on the field, so Swap Cancelling is restricted) and entering Illumining Form via her Ultimate. In Unison mode, she will switch out until another Unison character can give her another Intro. In Flare mode, she will stay on field and charge up her second Forte, both things done to enter Mechanism Dominion state, at which point she can do a few Basic Attacks to consume the Forte, cast her second Forte Heavy and Ultimate, and then Outro until her next rotation starts.
You may have guessed the following when we described Unison mechanics:
Electro Flare is Hsin’s more flexible mode teammates-wise, and her most F2P-friendly.
If you want to invest into Unison, Suoming is the clear-cut best choice (and frankly the only good one), and can take Hsin’s ceiling to new heights.
And this is entirely true. Performance-wise, Hsin’s Flare teams are however still restricted to using Electro Rover and Suisui at best. Overall, Electro Rover is far from an ideal character, with low total buffing potential and a lengthy rotation, meaning they too could be replaced in the future. But for now, they are enough to make Hsin a good DPS still, and a budget-friendly one at that, able to run Buling in the 3rd slot for a nearly cost-free team composition while still retaining good enough performance to clear all endgame modes when played properly.
If you choose to upgrade to Unison through Suoming, you have a top meta team on your hands. Due to scaling off general stats, the team is perfectly able to make use of Shorekeeper and Verina. It’ll be able to clear all endgames without much trouble, with an easy rotation with plenty of room for error. Unfortunately though, the only good Unison option is Suoming. Jinhsi is technically another Unison character, but her personal damage contribution has fallen out of fashion as an old 1.x character and she gives no damage buffs to Hsin, making the team overall not recommended by a lack of strength. You’re better off using an F2P Flare team overall.
In conclusion, while Hsin has no good permanent banner weapons, with her and her Signature, you essentially have a guaranteed Flare team for her out of the box, and that makes her a great pull for beginner players. Plus, Unison is a straightforward upgrade path that leads her to the top of the meta easily. Overall, Hsin is currently a top meta DPS who will greatly help in all endgame contents, under the important condition that you pulled for her Signature.

Hsin's Signature set gives her access to 15% CRIT Rate and 32.5% Electro DMG Bonus in total, making it the best blend of stats she has access to.
Below you can find Main Echo options:
Substats: Energy Regen (Until Satisfied) > CRIT Rate = CRIT DMG > ATK% = Skill DMG% > ATK
All recommended endgame stats portray a fairly good quality endgame build as a goal to aim for on most characters. However, don’t treat this as an end-all-be-all, and more of a suggestion.
All stat recommendations are given at S0 for 5-stars, S6 for 4-stars, and free characters (unless specified otherwise), based on total stats in the in-game stat-screen with the character out of combat but also active in the party (and hence some buffs may or may not apply). Any other precision may be directly specified. If not specified, Energy Regen requirements are estimated in the character’s best team.
HP: 14500+
DEF: 1100+
ATK: 2100-2500+
CRIT Rate: 65%+ (before Echo set bonuses)
CRIT DMG: 230-270%+
Energy Regen: 110-115%
Lower end was estimated in a Electro Rover/Suisui Flare team, higher end was estimated in a Jinhsi/Shorekeeper Unison team.
Electro DMG Bonus: 50-80%+

Gameplay and teams
Hsin’s rotation is fundamentally easy to understand: build up her Forte to cast her first Forte Heavy Attack, this unlocks her Ultimate. Then, enter Mechanism Dominion and finish it off with her second Forte Heavy Attack and Ultimate. She has two ways to achieve this, based on her Resonance Mode that changes her rotation.
Summon Hsin’s Echo freely at any point throughout her rotation.
In Electro Flare mode, Hsin will adopt a standard 1-2-3 team rotation the same way the majority of the DPS characters in the game have up until this point. To use all of her key abilities the quickest, we can execute the following rotation:
Intro
Basic 4
Heavy: Realm Protector
Ultimate: Formshift
Basic: Illumining 1 (Cancel animation on cast via Skill)
Skill: Illumining

Outro
In Unison mode, Hsin’s team rotation concept changes to be similar to what Jinhsi used to offer in the past. Here, going by Intros and Outros as reference points, it’s more of a 1-2-3-2-3 loop, where 1 is your Support, 2 is your Unison secondary, and 3 is Hsin herself. She will indeed use 2 Intros per rotation to skip any Illumining Form attacks and go straight into Mechanism Dominion with the extra perk of retaining the maximum amount of damage buffs possible, like so:
Intro: Manifold Unison
Basic 3
Basic 4
Heavy: Realm Protector
Ultimate: Formshift
Skill: Illumining (Swap)

Outro
For the above rotation, seeing as Hsin and Suoming can rotate quickly, if you need to extend the team’s rotation, you can cast more Pillars basics up to your discretion (4 times Basic 12 should be the maximum while conserving Suoming’s Outro buff).
Hsin is a very straightforward character with very little potential for Swap Cancels. The most she could get done is casting a few Answering Form Basics before her rotation starts during another teammate’s Swap window, to immediately cast her Forte Heavy once she Intros in. However, she needs to be on-field in order for any Forte to be generated. This makes her very restricted to a nearly completely strict on-field rotation.
In Flare mode, at the end of Hsin’s last rotation in a fight, an Answering Form Skill may be cast (with Hsin staying on field) in order to consume any leftover Heart of Thunder from her last rotation. This can squeeze in some extra damage at the end of a fight for a bit of extra scoring.
Much less impactfully, you can also cast an Answering Form Skill at the very start of the fight and Swap Cancel that, for some negligible extra damage (why you don’t do this later until the very last rotation in Flare mode is because it consumes Heart of Thunder stacks even if you Swap Cancel it, highly impacting your Flare detonation damage if you do this, or your rotation time if you stay on field).
The Skills that are swapped at the end of the Unison rotation parts before the Outros are simply there for free extra damage, and can be skipped if you’re uncomfortable with fast Swap Cancels. Do them too slowly, and they stop being DPS increases.
