Epiphany cards are special evolutions for the cards you can obtain while playing the roguelike mode. Only some cards in the character's deck can get Epiphany effects. Since there's quite a lot of them, we don't display them by default - press the button below to show them. There are also Divine variants of Epiphany cards, but we're still working on gathering them.

Damage [5/5]
AP Efficiency [4/5]
Draw [1/5]
Utility [5/5]
Selena is a 4-Star Passion attribute Ranger who best provides her damage from the sidelines in the form of Extra/Co-ordinated attacks.
Selena's damage mostly comes from the "Mark" mechanic, which causes Selena to do a 100% Damage Extra-Attack to enemies inflicted with Mark whenever an Attack Card is used on any unit. She has multiple ways to inflict Mark on enemy units and also increase the amount of damage dealt via Mark.
Selena is able to pursue a number of different playstyles, but as more characters have been released, one dominant one has emerged and that is Ravage Support. This style involves Selena establishing several temporary buffs, which allow her to launch Coordinated Attacks every time her allies attack or after enemies are Ravaged in order to deal damage. Selena best fits into a sub-DPS role due to the majority of her damage being dealt when allies deal damage, thus best pairing her with another DPS unit to fully take advantage of this.
In addition to this, the Ravage support build and therefore Selena is currently the only one that can replenish an enemy's Tenacity Bar, allowing them to be Ravaged/Broken multiple times in one turn. This ability by itself makes Selena a meta contender, allowing her to trigger all Ravage effects multiple times per turn instead of only 1. This is especially powerful with Ravage-focused characters like Sereniel. One quirk is that this playstyle isn’t really present at all in the base version of her cards and is only accessible through specific Epiphanies.
Selena lacks any natural Card Draw in her kit; ideally, you'll want to pair her with other units who can offer Card Draw to alleviate this weakness. Selena also benefits greatly from additive buffs such as Morale due to relatively low damage on her Extra/Co-ordinated attacks to further boost her Potential damage output if you do plan on utilizing her Mark playstyle.
Only character capable of replenishing enemy Tenacity Bars, giving her a unique niche in the meta
With the right build, she attacks through her allies via Coordinated Attacks and Mark and doesn’t need to do so herself.
Has many different build paths and unique Epiphanies, allowing for many Potential builds now and in the future
Can be played as a Ravage support, a Passion support or a main Damage Dealer, even though some are stronger than others depending on the current meta.
Has options to be able to deal high direct Tenacity Damage and apply Passion Weakness.
Capable single-target Potential with some solid AoE options if chosen via Epiphanies.
Primary meta build requires specific Epiphanies and isn’t functional based on base cards.
Most popular builds rely on allies to attack and use their cards for her to function in the team.
The ratings below are based on the Season Save Data modes and the Chaos Manifestation mode. Each of the modes values different mechanics, so some characters may shine in one of the, while being underwhelming in the other.

Season Save Data
Great Rift
Mark: Mark is a stackable debuff that Selena can apply through a wide variety of her cards, forming the core of her kit. When an enemy is marked and an Attack Card is used, Selena will fire an additional attack toward the marked target/s, dealing 100% ATK damage. To take advantage of this, Mark generation needs to be combined with high-frequency attacks to achieve the best results.
Break/Ravage: The other mechanic core to Selena’s identity is Break/Ravage and Tenacity Damage. Many of Selena’s abilities cause her attacks and additional attacks to either inflict additional Tenacity Damage or increase the Tenacity Damage dealt by a %. Building on this, Selena also has abilities that provide additional benefit each time an enemy is broken, further incentivizing a high Tenacity Damage break playstyle.
Attunement: Triggers listed “Attunement” effect when drawn naturally or via card effect. Does not activate if the card is “Moved” to the hand.
Passion Weakness: A debuff that causes the enemy to be treated as though they are Passion Weak for all Combatant attacks while it remains active. It is duration-based, not hit-count-based.
Selena’s Signature Potentials offer significant damage boosts as well as some additional functionality, making them a high priority to unlock.
3-1: Causes Engagement Fire to deal Piercing Damage, which ignores enemy shields.
5-1: Increases Engagement Fire’s damage multiplier by +5% with an additional +5% bonus granted if Bonus Additional Damage exceeds 15%.
7: Increases Passion DMG% by +4% passively, with a further +4% increase unlocked if Bonus Additional Damage exceeds 30%.
Base
Ego 1
Selena’s first Ego node to be unlocked adds the [Initiation] tag to her “Sniper’s Domain”. This is a decent first node that boosts Selena’s damage output right away, as she’ll always start with this card in her opening hand most useful in situations where Selena’s Mark playstyle is pursued, compared to when she’s played as a Ravage support.
Ego 2
Her second node provides a passive +20% damage increase to Selena’s Mark damage. A decent second node that again, further boosts her Mark playstyle.
Ego 3
This node increases the base and maximum level of their [Basic Card Upgrade], [Unique Card Upgrade] and [Common Card Upgrade] Potentials by 3. Overall, not a majorly impactful node for Selena due to the majority of their damage coming from Extra/Co-ordinated attacks, really only providing power before she unlocks various Epiphanies for her cards.
Ego 4
Her fourth Ego increases the effectiveness of their Ego Skill, adding +50% damage to the amount dealt and also increasing the amount of Mark applied by 1. Not a bad upgrade to have, the extra damage and additional Mark stack can provide useful, but otherwise not majorly required.
Ego 5
This node again increases the base and maximum level of their [Basic Card Upgrade], [Unique Card Upgrade] and [Common Card Upgrade] Potentials by 3. Similar to her 3rd Ego node, as not much of Selena's damage comes directly from her cards, another relatively low-power Ego node is to be unlocked.
Ego 6
Selena’s final Ego gives Selena a 30% chance to deal 100% extra damage whenever her Mark is triggered. This further boosts Selena’s Mark playstyle.
Final Shot
Ego Skill
Show Effects
Costs 5 EP, deals a strong amount of single-target damage and most importantly, immediately applies 3 Mark. Should be used as early as possible on the primary target to prevent Mark wastage and to allow Selena to begin her Mark-fuelled rapid-fire assault.
Engagement Fire
Selena’s Basic Attack is normal, but gains the ability to deal Piercing Damage and a significant damage enhancement from Potentials. In addition to this, Engagement Fire is also a perfectly suitable and accessible tool for triggering marks.
Emergency Shielding
Show Effects
Selena’s basic shield is completely standard and doesn't have any extra synergy with her kit.
High-Power Scope
Show Effects
One of Selena’s core Mark sources, which costs 1AP and applies 2 Mark to a target on use. Not overwhelmingly powerful at a baseline, but can be significantly improved and altered via Epiphanies.
Target Spotted
Show Effects
Selena’s other primary Mark generator, which functions very differently. Generates 1 Mark on 1 random enemy via its Response effect when drawn. Outside of this costs 1AP to use and deals a solid amount of damage, but nothing else. A solid card, as it doesn’t HAVE to be used in order to gain value while still being there as a hit to activate marks if Selena needs.
Drone Bombing
Show Effects
Deals AoE damage to all targets and applies Passion Weakness for 1 turn, guaranteeing this turn's hits will deal tenacity and direct damage as though the enemy were weak to Passion. Synergizes well with Selena’s goal of breaking enemies while also adding a dash of AoE to her kit.
Tactical Maneuver
Show Effects
Grants a larger-than-average shield and deals 2 Tenacity Damage to a target of your choice immediately. Great for locking in breaks on enemies while also offering some defensive benefits. With Epiphanies, this card transforms into the heart of Selena’s strongest meta build, the Support Ravage build.
Sniper's Domain
[Unique]
Show Effects
Selena’s only upgrade baseline cost 0AP, is unique and boosts mark damage by +80%. A simple, strong damage multiplier for one of the largest portions of Selena’s damage.

Gear
The Memory Fragments & Equipment suggestions below are based on calculations we did. If you want to check the damage formula and how scaling the damage works in CZN, check this guide.
[2-PC]: +25% Critical Damage.
[2-PC]: +12% Attack.
2/2/2 is currently the only recommended set combination for Selena as her main build in Save currently does little to no card damage and is almost entirely made up of Extra Attacks in the form of Coordinated Attacks which have no cost and are not considered "cards". Because of this none of the available 4P sets apply their bonuses to her so the only other viable option is 2/2/2. In Chaos Selena does deal some card damage but even there a lot of her damage potential will be from Mark which also has no cost and isn't considered a "card".
For more damage use 2P Cursed Corpse (if you can keep Agony on targets at all times). Alternatively for stronger Chaos starts try 2P Seth's Scarab, or if you want more survivability use 2P Healer's Journey. If none of that appeals, you can use any 2 strong sub/main stat pieces instead of a final 2P set bonus as well.
In a lot of cases, flat sub-stats are better than percentage ones when it comes to HP, ATK and DEF. The reason behind this is that in CZN the characters stats are pretty low and you get more value from flat bonus rather than percentage one based on calcs.
Extra ATK DMG% > CRIT Rate% = CRIT DMG% > ATK > ATK%
To fully activate Selena's Potential 7, aim to reach higher than 30% Extra DMG% from sub stats. Doing this will cause major damage increase for her.
Our best Partner recommendation try to balance both the raw damage boost they provide based on our calculations with the additional utility provided by the skill - combined with how it interacts with the characters's kit. We have rated each Partner based on how much additional damage and the utility they provide. Read the comments under each Partner to better understand our reasoning.
No calculations in Chaos Zero Nightmare are completely accurate for all scenarios, including the ones below. What team, decks, epiphanies, gear, equipment, and enemies you’re facing all impact them. Because of this, take the results as guidelines and combine them with the explanations to make your decisions. Calculations use endgame save data set-ups, including 5 turns of combat using the whole deck with all Ego skills unless otherwise stated.

In the Zero System, it’s incredibly easy to access all items acquirable via the shop thanks to the five free refreshes you get each shop node - that's why the recommendations below are limited to them only. ATTENTION! Area-specific items can sometimes be more powerful than shop items, but are far less consistent to get or require running a specific world or giving up certain event options. Use the shop list as a starting point for building up your deck saves.
The equipment recommendations are based on items obtainable in Season 2’s Chaos - Burning Life. If you’re running content outside of Season 2, it’s possible some options may not be available for acquisition, or that other options not obtainable in Burning Life may be better.
