Nightsoul's Blessing: Blade Roller
When in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, Xilonen will enter the Blade Roller mode. While in this mode, Xilonen's Normal Attacks will allow her to perform up to 4 kicks using her roller blades, and she will be unable to use Charged Attacks.
When her Normal and Plunging Attacks are used in this mode, they will switch to being based on her DEF, and Xilonen will deal Nightsoul-aligned Geo DMG that cannot be overridden.

Yohual's Scratch

Let the rhythms of passion resound throughout the land! Xilonen switches to high-speed combat blading gear and rushes forward a certain distance before dealing Nightsoul-aligned Geo DMG based on her DEF.
After using this, Xilonen will gain 45 Nightsoul points and enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state. In this state, she will shift to the Blade Roller mode.

Source Samples
Xilonen has 3 Samplers with her that can generate different Soundscapes based on her other party members' Elemental Types, decreasing nearby opponents' corresponding Elemental RES while active.
The initial recorded Source Sample within each Sampler will be Geo, and for each party member who is Pyro/Hydro/Cryo/Electro, 1 Geo Sample will change to that corresponding Element.
While Xilonen is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, the Geo Source Sample she carries will always be active. After unlocking her Ascension Talent, "Netotiliztli's Echoes," Xilonen can trigger said Ascension Talent's effects to regenerate Nightsoul points for herself. When her Nightsoul points hit the maximum, she will consume all her Nightsoul points and activate the 3 Source Samples she has on hand for 15s.
When the Source Samples are active, nearby opponents' corresponding Elemental RES will decrease. Source Sample effects of the same Elemental Type cannot stack. Xilonen can trigger these effects even when off-field.

Nightsoul's Blessing: Xilonen
Continuously consume Nightsoul points. When these points are depleted or if used again, this Nightsoul's Blessing state will end. This state has the following traits:
·Switches to the Blade Roller mode, increasing Xilonen's Movement SPD and climbing speed, and she can perform high-speed leaps in Ocelot Form while climbing.
·Xilonen's Nightsoul's Blessing has the following restrictions: When in this state, Xilonen's Nightsoul points have a 9s time limit. After this limit passes, her Nightsoul points will immediately expire.

After Xilonen's Nightsoul points have expired while she is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, she will no longer be able to generate Nightsoul points via the Ascension Talent "Netotiliztli's Echoes."

In some ways, gem-craft and music-mixing share similar principles: Filtering out impurities and retaining only the most radiant things.
Xilonen isn't picky about the two, however. She enjoys both immensely, after all!

Night Realm's Gift: Blessing of Forge-Fire

After her Nightsoul points are fully depleted, Xilonen will switch to consuming Phlogiston to maintain her Nightsoul's Blessing.
While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, she can use Nightsoul Transmission: Xilonen. When the active character is currently sprinting, climbing, in a movement mode caused by certain Talents, or at a certain height in the air, the following will trigger when switching to Xilonen: Xilonen will enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state and gain 20 Nightsoul points. In this situation, Xilonen's Nightsoul points have a 4s time limit, after which her Nightsoul points will immediately expire. After she uses Yohual's Scratch within this time limit, her Nightsoul point time limit will be extended by 9s. Nightsoul Transmission can be triggered once every 10s by your own team.

Additionally, while in Natlan, Xilonen will not consume Stamina when climbing while in the Nightsoul's Blessing state.

Triggering Nightsoul Transmission restores 15 Phlogiston.

Netotiliztli's Echoes

While in the Nightsoul's Blessing state:
·If Xilonen has at least 2 Source Samples that have had their Elemental Types changed, she gains 35 Nightsoul points when her Normal or Plunging Attacks hit opponents. Can be triggered once every 0.1s.
·If Xilonen has fewer than 2 Source Samples that have had their Elemental Types changed, her Normal and Plunging Attacks deal 30% increased DMG.

Portable Armored Sheath

While in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, when Xilonen's Nightsoul points reach the maximum, she will trigger an effect equal to that of her Nightsoul Burst. This effect can be triggered once every 14s.
Additionally, when nearby party members trigger a Nightsoul Burst, Xilonen's DEF is increased by 20% for 15s.

Sabbatical Phrase

Xilonen's Nightsoul point and Phlogiston consumption in her Nightsoul's Blessing state is decreased by 30%, and her Nightsoul point time limit is extended by 45%.
Additionally, when Xilonen's Source Samples are active, she can also increase nearby active characters' interruption resistance.

Chiucue Mix

Xilonen's Geo Source Samples will always remain active. Additionally, when her Source Samples activate, all nearby party members will gain effects corresponding to the active Source Sample that matches their Elemental Type:
·Geo: DMG dealt +50%.
·Pyro: ATK +45%.
·Hydro: Max HP +45%.
·Cryo: CRIT DMG +60%.
·Electro: Restore 25 Energy, decrease Elemental Burst CD by 6s.

Tonalpohualli's Loop

Increases the Level of Yohual's Scratch by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Suchitl's Trance

After Xilonen uses Yohual's Scratch, she will grant all nearby party members the Blooming Blessing effect for 15s.
Characters with Blooming Blessing deal 65% of Xilonen's DEF as increased Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG. This effect will be removed after triggering 6 times or when the duration ends.
When you hit more than one opponent, trigger counts will be consumed based on the number of opponents hit. The counts for each party member with Blooming Blessing are counted independently.

Tlaltecuhtli's Crossfade

Increases the Level of Ocelotlicue Point! by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Imperishable Night Carnival

When Xilonen is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, when she sprints, leaps, or uses Normal or Plunging Attacks, she will gain Imperishable Night's Blessing, ignoring the limitations of her Nightsoul's Blessing state and increasing the DMG dealt by her Normal and Plunging Attacks for 5s.
During this time:
·Her Nightsoul's Blessing time limit countdown will be paused. Xilonen's Nightsoul points, Phlogiston, and Stamina will not decrease, and when her Nightsoul points reach the maximum, her Nightsoul's Blessing state will not end either.
·Xilonen deals 300% of her DEF as increased Normal and Plunging Attack DMG while in the Nightsoul's Blessing state.
·She heals nearby party members for 120% of her DEF every 1.5s.
She can gain 1 Imperishable Night's Blessing once every 15s.

Short Kit Explanation

Xilonen is a 5-star Geo Sword user who is most commonly played as a support and sustain. She uses her Skill and Normal Attacks to apply a RES Shred debuff based on the team’s element composition, while in most teams her Burst can be kept as backup for healing. As a Natlan character, she has access to and utilizes Nightsoul mechanics.

In Xilonen’s case, her Nightsoul mechanics revolve around her Source Samples; these appear visually as 3 crystals next to Xilonen’s Nightsoul gauge and change from their default of Geo to match the elements of Xilonen’s other Pyro, Cryo, Hydro, and Electro (PHEC for short) teammates. These Source Samples shred the enemy’s RES for when “activated” - Geo Source Samples are always activate as long as Xilonen has Nightsoul's Blessing, and increasing her Nightsoul points to the maximum while she has Nightsoul's Blessing consumes it to activate all her Source Samples for 15 seconds. This debuff cannot be stacked multiple times for the same element.

Gaining Nightsoul's Blessing itself can be done when using her Elemental Skill, which also grants 45 of the 90 points required for her to activate her Source Samples. It additionally puts her in “Blade Roller” mode, giving her additional mobility and converting her Normal Attacks to Geo. Her Blessing lasts until her Nightsoul points expire or her Skill is used again; this means that despite her Skill’s cooldown being shorter than the 9 second lifespan of her Nightsoul points, it cannot reach the maximum on its own. Keeping this in mind, her kit then subsequently diverges based on if she has at least two Source Samples converted to a different element.

More relevant to her use is if she does, her first Ascension Passive allows her Normal Attacks to restore 35 Nightsoul points each for her while her Elemental Burst will heal all allies. This means in teams with two other PHEC teammates, Xilonen can use her Skill and two Normal Attacks to activate her Source Samples; this shreds enemy RES while her Burst also allows her to fill the role as the team’s sustain. She can also only activate the major aspect of her second Ascension Passive in these teams as it requires her to reach her Nightsoul point maximum, upon which it triggers an effect equivalent to that of a Nightsoul Burst independent of the Nightsoul Burst cooldown.

If she does not have at least two other PHEC teammates, Xilonen does not have any way to maximize her Nightsoul Points. While Geo Source samples are always active while she has her Nightsoul's Blessing, her Nightsoul points - and thus Blessing - expire when Xilonen is switched off-field, thus rendering her unable to support any on-field Geo DPS. To incentivize keeping Xilonen as the active character, her first Ascension Passive instead grants her Normal Attacks a DMG% buff and her Burst now deals damage; despite this, Xilonen’s damage remains meagre.

Her mediocre damage also renders the rest of her kit largely irrelevant. She gains a typically meaningless 20% DEF buff when any Nightsoul Burst is activated from her second Ascension Passive, while her Normal Attacks are not worth using beyond their point generation even when in Blade Roller mode.

NIGHTSOUL

Nightsoul is a mechanic involving Natlanese characters with two distinct components: “Nightsoul Blessing” and “Nightsoul Burst”. Nightsoul Blessing is a state allowing for the generation and/or consumption of Nightsoul points, with many Natlan character kits revolving around triggering effects based on this in some way.

Nightsoul Bursts, on the other hand, is an effect triggered whenever dealing Elemental damage while a Natlanese character is in the party, with the cooldown on its trigger decreasing from 18 to 12 to the minimum of 9 for each Natlanese character present; note that Pyro Traveler is not considered to be Natlanese despite access to Nightsoul mechanics. While having no effect on its own, many character abilities and some artifact set effects only activate when a Nightsoul Burst is triggered, often granting bonuses which can vary in usefulness but are rarely tied to core functionality.

How to Play

(Mechanics & Gameplay Loop)

If Xilonen has at least 2 non-Geo teammates, she uses her Skill followed by two Normal Attacks in order to activate her RES Shred.

Her Burst can be used when healing is needed; optimally, it is used during her field time, but can be used at any point as an emergency button.

Xilonen Pull Value

Xilonen’s RES Shred and healing makes her flexible, but she is rarely an optimal option. She lacks meaningful damage or unique synergies or reaction enabling, and her debuff’s strength struggles to compare to the buff volume of newer units. While her ability to fully utilize Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City does somewhat make up for this, many newer teams either have no use for DMG% or impose element of faction restrictions that lock her out; while she has other artifact options and plenty of teams she still works on, this is punishing to her main selling point of versatility.

Nonetheless, Xilonen has many teams she can fit in, being marginally optimal for Navia and a consideration for certain Melt, Vape, and reactionless teams such as Durin + Lohen, Neuvillette, or Mavuika. While she is almost never the optimal pull for an account, she retains good value for players who desire to or have already pulled her. Her flexibility also finally shines in Imaginarium Theater.

Favonius SwordR5Generally one of Xilonen’s best options thanks to the Energy it provides for the team, with Xilonen having four opportunities to trigger it during her field time and losing nothing by building Crit Rate. Also helps Xilonen Burst frequently if needed.

Freedom-SwornR1Has a teamwide buff. Note: Triggering it requires Xilonen to trigger Crystallize twice during her field time. Furthermore, due to the cooldown on stack gain, Xilonen has to delay her Normal Attack by about 0.5s in Lunar-Crystallize teams and 1 second otherwise if not using Burst.
