Review
Dawnlight Nell is a Hollow Affinity Support, capable of not only providing powerful buffs, but also turning your enemies’ debuffs into buffs for your allies.
Nell’s S1 is two-parts, with an active component and a passive one. The active ability deals damage to one enemy and comes with a high chance of applying [SPD+] on all allies for 2 turns.
Sunward is the passive part, converting a debuff that allies would receive into a basic buff they do not already have. The effect triggers once per ally and is on CD for 2 enemy turns (the CD is specific to each ally).
Lvl5 is a huge upgrade, and with Nell being a SR Animus there’s no reason to be stingy on skill mats.
S2 is another ST attack that applies a teamwide buff to your team, called [Solar Diadem]. This buff is a Shield based on Nell’s max HP and whenever an ally with the buff takes their turn they receive 1 random basic buff.
This is one of Nell’s main defensive tools, similarly to S1 there is no reason to be stingy. Lvl5 recommended unless you’re using her for Burst.
Nell’s S3 is an AoE that hits all enemies once and applies an uninteractive buff called [Solar Garland] for 3 turns. This buff increases damage dealt by 30%, reduces damage taken by 20%, and whenever a basic buff is obtained by an Animus under this effect, the damage bonus they receive improves by 4%, up to an extra 20%.
Like the other skills, S3 benefits a lot from levels and being an SR the return on investment is very good. Get it to lvl5 as soon as possible if you plan to use Nell.
Nell is a pretty good PVE Animus; her buffs and purification-like abilities are all useful, and as a Hollow Affinity Support she easily fits in content that advantages this affinity or restricts others. She’s also very serviceable for new players, as she does a bit of everything you’d want a Support to do: SPD+, ATK/DEF+, Shields, Purifications, a unique buff that boosts both offense and defense.
In the mid/endgame, she won’t excel in content where the top meta Animuses have already solidified their dominance for months, and so her usage will be rather limited to specific scenarios previously mentioned.
Nell wasn’t designed with PVP in mind. Her base SPD is simply too low to matter in any endgame/competitive setting. Her kit is strong, especially for new players, but in a game where the SPD limit only keeps being pushed further and further away, her being very slow on release already dooms her for the future, unless we see a dramatic switch away from SPD one day.
Dawnlight Nell is a strong Support with access to a bunch of very powerful effects, however she faces extreme levels of competition which makes it tough to recommend her for generic purposes. She still manages to shine in situations where Hollow Affinity Animuses are favored, or where her rivals are restricted, and lastly her SR status makes her very cost efficient. If you’re looking for a PVP unit though, she is not the one.
Good Hollow Supports are rare.
Lots of Buffs and ‘Purifications’.
Useful for beginners.
Cheap to build.
Turtles don’t win races in ER.

Widely used and incredibly potent all-around supportive option, granting a 25% gauge boost on use as well as [SPD+] boost with 100% uptime. It also deals decent damage when used. Possesses most of the best supportive matrixes, further adding to its flexibility and wide use cases. Loses most of its value when used in teams that already have a team member granting the [SPD+] buff with good uptime.
