A classic knight of the Knights of Beauty. Forthright and candid, this noble and admirable man wanders the cosmos alone, resolutely following the Path of Beauty. Upholding the good name of Beauty is Argenti's duty. To fulfill this responsibility, one's must be pious when one initiates battle, and one must make their opponent yield willingly when one strikes with one's spear.

Review
Strongest AoE damage potential in the game while still having good single-target output,
Two Ultimates gives the player more choice — you can use the cheaper Ultimate in a pinch to finish off a wave,
His kit makes him increasingly stronger based on the number of enemies on the field,
Gets a lot of free CRIT Rate from his Talent,
Compared to many other limited damage dealers, his Eidolons aren't that good and he's already strong at E0,
Most of his best offensive supports are 4-stars, so it's easy to build his best teams.
His kit is pretty simple as he just uses a big stick to bonk enemies, which may be a con for some,
His stronger Ultimate has the absolute highest cost in the game,
His damage output noticeably drops on turns where he doesn't have his Ultimate, since a majority of his damage comes from it,
Huohuo is his best sustain partner and significantly improves his performance,
Erudition units have some of the weakest Light Cone options in the game, meaning you don't have many choices if you don't go for his Signature Cone.
Argenti boasts the highest AoE damage in the game alongside remarkable ease of use. He does not deal the highest damage in single-target scenarios, but he is unmatched in AoE. His Ultimate can be used at 90 Energy for fast access to AoE damage, but is best used at the huge cost of 180 to be at maximum effectiveness, skyrocketing its upfront damage output and providing 6 extra damage Bounces. This makes his Ultimate powerful in all scenarios, and each Bounce will also deal some Toughness damage as well. With extra CRIT Rate and additional Energy gains from his Talent, Argenti is an exceptional damage dealer.
With flowing locks and just the right amount of comedic cringe, Argenti certainly makes an interesting first impression. Erudition units are steadily becoming more and more appreciated, and Argenti is poised for success. He is a remarkably powerful damage dealer with a simple, yet effective kit.
Argenti’s Skill deals damage to all enemies on the field, up to 120% of his ATK at max Trace level. It’s not exactly the most riveting ability in the game, but out of the similar Erudition Skills across the other characters, it does have the highest multiplier; 120% compared to the common 100% may not seem like a big improvement, but it starts to make a very big difference very quickly as the number of enemies increases.
Argenti’s Ultimate is the first of its kind. It is usable at two different Energy amounts, 90 and 180. At 90 Energy, he will deal minor damage to all enemies, a pretty decent amount for a low cost Ultimate. However, if you use his Ultimate at 180 Energy, he will instead deal substantially more damage to all enemies and subsequently deal 6 extra instances of single-target damage to a random enemy. This extra damage is in the form of a Bounce attack much like Asta or Sampo’s Skills, meaning each hit will deal its own instance of Toughness damage. It is vitally important to note that each of these Bounces will ignore ‘dead’ targets, meaning no damage is going to be wasted on enemies whose health is already 0 after the first big swing.
Combining these means that Argenti’s 180-cost Ultimate deals an absurd amount of total damage, even against just a single target. If you’re hitting 5 enemies, this Ultimate is nothing short of nuclear. Against AoE content, Argenti’s going to be reaching damage numbers that belong in the Simulated Universe. Even in single-target scenarios, this Ultimate will deal very impressive damage as well as 120 Toughness damage, equivalent Toughness damage to that of an Imbibitor Lunae’s Fulgurant Leap.
Understandably, you want to be utilising the max cost Ultimate as often as possible, but an Energy cost of 180 is excruciatingly steep. Luckily, Argenti’s Talent helps to offset this somewhat. Every enemy that is hit by one of Argenti’s attacks will restore 3 Energy. Again, this seems somewhat underwhelming but in conjunction with the Energy gains from using Argenti’s Skill and the potential to get an extra 15 Energy per turn against 5 enemies, this talent goes a very long way to facilitating the otherwise exorbitant cost of Argenti’s full Ultimate.
Argenti’s Talent will also grant a stack of Apotheosis per enemy hit, increasing his CRIT Rate by 2.5%. Apotheosis can stack up to 10 times, granting a total of 25% CRIT Rate permanently for the rest of the encounter. Due to the AoE nature of Argenti’s damage, this is very easy to stack up to maximum within only a few turns, and having that much extra CRIT Rate for free is highly potent and very much appreciated.
Argenti’s Bonus Ability Traces are mostly nice bonuses. A2 will grant Argenti a stack of Apotheosis every time his turn starts, which is definitely good, but with the rate at which Apotheosis will stack during combat, this particular Bonus Ability goes largely unnoticed. A6 will let Argenti deal 15% more damage to targets whose health is at or below 50% of their maximum, which is largely self-explanatory.
His A4 is particularly interesting. It states ‘When enemy targets enter battle, immediately regenerates 2 Energy for self.’ What this means is that any time a new enemy appears on the field for seemingly any reason, Argenti will get 2 Energy instantly. This understandably includes the start of a new enemy wave, but more impressive is that it also includes any summoned enemies or other reinforcements, such as those called by Boss Gepard or the unending slew of IPC goons called by the IPC Team Leader.
Argenti’s Eidolons are strong but unnecessary, as he’s already going to be decimating pretty much everything the game can come up with to throw at the player. E1 is particularly good value, as it allows Apotheosis to also accumulate CRIT DMG bonuses in addition to its CRIT Rate.
This Knight of Beauty is really quite simple to use, and that’s arguably his best trait; Argenti doesn’t need to worry about things like gaining stacks on a summoned entity, or making sure he has a large amount of Skill Points to be at full power, or making sure the enemy has been properly primed with damage over time. He just… does the thing. It just works™. For some this may actually be a negative thing, since this simplicity also extends to his team setups and may become stale quickly, but over time, I’m certain everyone can learn to appreciate the value of a straightforward unit.
Units that help offset his tremendous Ultimate cost are naturally good pairs, such as Tingyun and Huohuo. Characters that can grant Argenti more actions can also offset the Ultimate’s cost by proxy; Asta, Bronya, and Hanya can allow Argenti more opportunities to make use of his own Energy restoring Talent, thus increasing his total damage by quite a lot. Because of Argenti’s simplicity, you can really kind of just do whatever you like when it comes to team setups and you’ll probably be okay.
Argenti is honestly pretty great. You may not feel inclined to pull for him if you’ve already got the super heavy hitters like Jingliu, Imbibitor Lunae, or Kafka, but trust, nobody destroys AoE like Argenti destroys AoE.
What the hell is Idrila feeding her Knights, seriously, like damn.
Honkai: Star Rail is a game where team building matters most and while our tier list takes the optimal setup into account, a lot of characters can work and do well - even those ranked lower - when you invest into them. Also for story or lower difficulties of Simulated Universe, you don't need to worry about ratings and tiers. You can safely clear that content even with F2P characters as long as you build your team correctly.
Character at 5★ are rated at their Eidolon 0 with a F2P cone.

Best damaging set for Argenti when fully stacked. Stacking up the buffs can take some time though which is a slight downside but it still beats out the competition.
The next best set for Argenti, offering a Speed bonus that eliminates the need for Argenti to get Speed sub-stats altogether to hit the most common Speed breakpoint 134. Also offers Attack which is a nice bonus.
An alternative to the 4-piece Musketeer of Wild Wheat that depending on the Speed sub-stats or supports you have access to can be a better option situationally.
Another speed-based option and alternative to 4-piece Musketeer of Wild Wheat with the same upsides and downsides but offers 10% increased Physical Damage instead of 12% increased Attack which may be better or worse depending on your gears stats and the supports you are using.
Strongest stand-alone Planar Set for Argenti when at 135 speed but even more powerful at 160 speed if your team comp can achieve it. Does not have CRIT though so can fall behind other options in certain team compositions.
A strong CRIT option for AoE-based fights, offering a 20% damage increase to skills. The more enemies in the fight the more Argenti's skill becomes a large part of his damage making this set stronger.
In his base kit, Argenti has limited access to increased ATK% making Space Sealing Station a decent option for him if you already have it. This set falls behind CRIT sets when combining Argenti with a team of supports with a large amount of ATK% buffs.
Another strong CRIT set close in power to Rutilant arena that buffs Argenti's Ultimate instead of skill but only for 15% instead of 20% making it slightly weaker in AoE fights. If you use Argenti's signature this set loses a little value as his ultimate already receives so much increased % damage already.
SPD (Breakpoint) > CRIT RATE = CRIT DMG > ATK%
If you want to learn more about the various stats and breakpoints, expand the section below.
Body - CRIT DMG >= CRIT Rate
CRIT RATE and CRIT DMG are both ideal for Argenti - choose the one that offers you the best CRIT ratio.
Feet - Speed > ATK%
Speed is the safest option but ATK% can be strong when combining Argenti with supports that offer him speed like Hanya or Asta.
Planar Sphere - Physical DMG > ATK%
Physical% is best in most cases but ATK% isn't far behind so an ATK% orb with excellent sub-stats can be used.
Link Rope - ATK%
ATK% Rope is recommended as it is the only offensive scaling option available in this slot.
CRIT RATE & CRIT DMG: Those are Argenti's best damage scaling stats - shoot for the standard 1% CRIT RATE per 2% CRIT DMG. Argenti can afford to be below the usual CRIT RATE ratio thanks to his Talent granting a sizeable amount depending on the level it's at, level 10 grants a bonus 25% CRIT RATE which should be considered when deciding which CRIT stat to aim for.
ATK%: Argenti has limited ATK% in his kit making it a reasonable stat to chase but only after a solid CRIT ratio has been established - think of it more like a bonus stat on the way to getting your CRIT pieces.
DMG%: Argenti doesn't have much increased DMG% in his kit but his signature Cone and his next best option (Today Is Another Peaceful Day) make up for it. If you're using these Cones the value of dmg% diminishes somewhat especially compared to CRIT RATE stats.
Speed: Speed as with most standard direct damage carries is incredibly important on Argenti - hitting a strong Memory of Chaos breakpoint is also advised when aiming to achieve the fastest and most comfortable endgame clears. Stacking Speed past your desired breakpoint isn't advised though. Higher breakpoints can more easily be achieved consistently by pairing Argenti with characters like Hanya and Asta. They may even allow you to switch out some gear pieces like your Speed boots in favor of more damage stats. Aim for any of the Speed breakpoints below baseline or with consistent support Speed buffs.

Calculations
Don't use the damage output calculations as an indication on who is worth pulling or investing as those are just simulations and in day-to-day gameplay there's a lot variables. Use the numbers only to supplement your knowledge and treat them as the 'floor' of a character's damage output which you can further scale with proper team and investment.
