While Escoffier’s Energy Recharge requirements can often be met without an Energy Recharge% Sands, it takes priority if this is not the case.

Escoffier is a 5-star Cryo Polearm user most commonly played as a sub-DPS, support, and sustain for Freeze teams. Her Skill gives her consistent damage which is powered up by her RES Shred that scales with the Cryo and Hydro characters in the team, while offering healing on her Burst.
Escoffier’s kit is extremely simple, with the most important aspect about her being defined by her second Ascension Passive: she applies Hydro and Cryo RES Shred when hitting enemies with her Elemental Skill or Burst, with the value being based on the number of Hydro and Cryo characters in the party including herself. At 1/2/3 characters, the value of the RES Shred is 5/10/15% respectively; there is then a massive jump when the party has only Hydro and Cryo characters, with Escoffier offering a whopping 55% RES Shred for having 4 such characters in the team. This defines her primary niche as a lynchpin for Freeze teams; unlike many units of this genre, at least, she retains some minor flex value for other archetypes.
As to be expected by her second Ascension Passive specifying the debuff is applied when she hits enemies, Escoffier’s Skill allows her to deal Cryo damage to enemies once every second through the “Cooking Mek” it summons. It has solid scalings and lasts a lengthy 20 seconds with a 15-second cooldown, meaning uptime is a non-issue - especially considering that her debuff itself lasts another 12 seconds after every hit.
The only aspect of this Skill that isn’t immediately apparent is that it has an internal cooldown of 1.5 seconds - in other words, after applying Cryo to an enemy, Escoffier has to wait at least 1.5 seconds before her Skill can do so again. Since her Skill has a 1-second attack interval, this allows her to apply Cryo once every 2 seconds.
Her Elemental Burst, on the other hand, is how Escoffier provides healing. Its initial cast deals AoE Cryo damage while providing a full teamwide Burst heal scaling off Escoffier’s Attack, with her first Ascension Passive allowing her to then provide consistent recovery to the active character for 9 seconds after using her Burst.
This finally leaves us with Escoffier’s Normal Attacks, which are unfortunately generally unspectacular and are almost never used outside of triggering weapon passives such as Favonius Lance. While she does have a Hold Skill, this is exclusively for overworld purposes.
The only requirement to playing Escoffier is that you need to Tap her Skill when she takes the field.
Her Burst can be used if healing is needed; using it after her Skill allows Escoffier to collect her own Energy particles, while using it before her Skill allows Escoffier to swap off immediately after casting Skill to funnel the particles to a teammate who might want the Energy more.
Escoffier is a staple of Freeze teams, with her pull value depending on how useful a Freeze team would be to the player. From a general perspective, thanks to her and Skirk, Freeze teams did have some new life breathed into them; however, they also no longer stand at the top of the metagame.
Nonetheless, it is worth reiterating that Escoffier is likely to remain a powerful unit for Freeze teams. If the player has high investment in a Freeze carry such as Ayaka and wishes to continue playing her or if Freeze teams themselves get another synergistic unit to improve their performance, Escoffier will probably retain good value for them. Ultimately, her pull value is largely decided by the relevance of her archetype.
It’s worth noting that as a healer with consistent and good off-field Cryo damage, Escoffier does retain some niche value for teams like Melt and Stellar-Conduct; in the former especially, she can help enable niche dual Cryo Melt setups with Citlali, while for the latter she helps charge the Polestar Field. However, she should not be pulled for these roles.
Symphonist of ScentsR1Escoffier’s best Weapon, significantly boosting her personal damage while providing an ATK% buff for her and the active character she is healing. Requires Escoffier to use her Burst.
Favonius LanceR5Sacrifices some of Escoffier’s offensive capabilities for support, providing Energy for herself and the team. Especially useful if Escoffier needs to Burst frequently on Energy-starved teams, or with Energy-hungry teammates.
Skyward SpineR1CRIT Stat sticks like Spine and Homa make for good stat sticks for Escoffier’s personal damage. Calamity Queller is also a good option, especially in teams without ATK buffs or Shenhe.
DeathmatchR5Good option for personal damage at any refinement.
Golden TroupeEscoffier’s best option for personal damage. Note that if she is significantly outdamaged by the Main Carry, such as with Skirk, Supportive Sets take priority.
Scroll of the Hero of Cinder CityOne of her better Supporting Sets if there are no better holders on the team thanks to its uptime.
Tenacity of the MillelithWhile Tenacity of the Millelith is a good option that Escoffier has no issues maintaining uptime on, Furina makes better use of the Set when the pair are used together due to Furina being able to use the Set’s HP%.
Noblesse ObligeAnother good supportive option on teams where there is a better Scroll holder and Escoffier uses her Burst frequently, such as with Furina and Citlali. While Escoffier’s Energy Recharge requirements can often be met without an Energy Recharge% Sands, it takes priority if this is not the case.
Cryo DMG% tends to be better on teams where Escoffier is on supportive sets, even with Furina. With both Furina and Golden Troupe, ATK% performs similarly or better.

However, she can nonetheless be flexed into the role of a Melt Enabler (if lacking or alongside Citlali) or as a sustain/off-field DPS for certain Cryo teams such as Stellar-Conduct.
