Review

DokiDoki is a Support character who, thanks to her universal buffs and Constant element, is highly valued in both PVP and PVE.

Her supportive buff [Data Stream] can stack up to 12 times, with each stack giving 2.5% DMG Dealt increase and 2.5 points of SPD. She frequently applies multiple stacks of the buff through all of her skills, especially her S3. The buff also can't be dispelled, so you don't have to worry about losing it to the pesky dispellers - both in PVE and PVP. Furthermore, she can lower allies’ skill CD and increase turn meter by 12% for the ally with the lowest turn meter, doing it a total of 8 times, giving as much as 96% turn meter split between the team. On top of all that, she can also cleanse debuffs from allies.

Just keep in mind that her ramp-up time is quite long - she's not that good in 'speedrun' compositions, and she's more suited for longer PVE battles - for example Union Boss or Phantom Theatre. When it comes to module bosses or generic PVE content, she can be used and will work well, but other Supports that have more 'frontloaded' buffs will outshine her in one-shot teams.

A similar thing applies to PVP - you would rather use a Support that gives you instant benefit and overcharges your top DPS, rather than spreading the boosts and buffs across the team. Still, in bruiser teams, she actually works really well, but early on, PVP will be all about Speed.

Pros & Cons
Pros

  • A great generalist support,

  • Versatile - can be slotted in a lot of teams,

  • Can cleanse,

  • Great synergy with characters that rely on buffs being applied often (like Xiada),

  • Her Speed buff gives flat bonuses, so it stacks with other SPD% buffs.

Cons

  • Requires a bit more effort to use well, since you need to speed tune the team in a different way when you play her,

  • Not that great in short battles.

Best Build

The builds below are tailored more toward PVE and we only mention PVP in some places - like for alternative Shells or Module choices. But PVE is our focus.

Best Shells

1

Before the owner acts, unleashes the owner Animus' full potential making their next skill cost no CD and increasing their SPD by an additional 10% for 2 turn(s). In PvP modes, after being affected by Codex of Magic, skills that did not go on cooldown will have their maximum cooldown permanently increased by 1 turn. (a single skill can only be affected once by this increase).

The cooldown of the skill can't be reduced.

An absurdly strong combo Shell that allows the wearer to skip the cooldown of the ability used on the turn this Shell is active. The wearer can use their ultimate or skill twice back to back, unlocking usually impossible personal and team combos. Also grants the wearer a 10% SPD boost after use for 2 turns. Mainly used in PvE burst/combo compositions or PVP. Can be used on both Supports and DPS situationally.

Since all her Skills have a really long CD, Codex is a great, if not the best, option for her.

2

After the original takes action, has a 100% chance to reduce the CD of 1 random skills on cooldown by 1 turn(s).

Allows you to reduce cooldown of a random ability, improving the cycling abilities of the character.

Great option for her to help with her long CD Skills.

PVP Setup

Best for a fast Doki that wants to move first and boost her whole team twice.

At the start of battle, grants the host Animus 2 stack(s) of [Mortal Essence]. Afterward, every 3 turn(s), grants the host Animus 3 stack(s) of [Mortal Essence] before their turn.

Moon Bunny is Doki's new most-used Shell, building a good amount of Speed. Additionally, utilizing Strive lets her take one hit from Debuffers or CC units and then go next, saving your entire team. Also works with Turn 1 playstyle as a pivot option from a tankier 1/2 opener. Usually nowadays, all you need is one turn after Doki boosts your team to kill all the enemies.

Stat comments

Doki Doki is a really interesting and strong choice for PVE since she offers a lot in her kit, but may sometimes be hard to make a 100% use of her.

  • SPD: No secret for her, this is the only stat that she really cares about. You can either stack enough of it for her to be the fastest in the team to give some nice buffs and push or the slowest one in your team to make them get their 2nd turn faster instead.
  • HP/DEF: Since she only cares about SPD, it's easy and recommended to have these 2 stats as well to make her not die too often.
Stat comments (PVP)

Doki Doki is one of the best Ban Protection targets in the game right now, locking a Doki on 3 lets you fight a ton of different things and leaves you flexible to pick basically whatever you want afterwards.

  • Main Stats:
    • SPD: Going as fast as possible is definitely important here; some people opt to put a ton of their best Speed gear on Doki Doki, while some use her a bit more occasionally and leave her with a bit lower Speed.
    • HP/DEF: Tankiness is all that matters outside of Speed for Doki, so get as much as you can.
